Abstract
A novel approach to 2-substituted-2-(dimethoxyphosphoryl)-pyrrolidines 7a-7o and 9a-9r has been developed, which features a TMSOTf-mediated one-pot intramolecular cyclization and phosphonylation of substituted tert-butyl 4-oxobutylcarbamates. The major advantages of this method include simple operation under mild reaction conditions, the use of cheap Lewis acid, and good to excellent yields with high diastereoselectivities (dr up to 99:1).

Abstract
Starting from a primary amine-tethered alkyne 1, a copper-catalyzed three-component tandem amination/cyanation/alkylation sequence gives α-CN pyrrolidine 6 in good yield and regioselectivity. Also, a silver mediated tandem amination/oxidation of a secondary amine-tethered alkyne 7 produces functionalized pyrrole 8 in good yield. All reactions were conducted in one pot without any protection/deprotection steps.

Abstract
This protocol describes a procedure for the synthesis of alpha, beta-branched-b-amino aldehydes via Proline-catalyzed asymmetric Mannich reaction of aldehydes with N-tert-butoxycarbonyl-imines. The crystalline beta-amino aldehydes are formed in good yields and extremely high levels of diastereo- and enantioselectivities without the need for chromatographic purification and are readily oxidized to the corresponding beta-amino acids. The protocol can be completed in approximately 14 h on small scales or up to 30 h on larger scales.

Abstract
Titanium(IV) complexes with two basic dimethylamido ligands can be efficient catalysts for alkyne hydroamination by primary amines. Readily prepared pyrrolyl ligands have proven to be especially useful in generating active catalysts for hydroamination and hydrohydrazination. From these reactions, new methodologies for the synthesis of imines, hydrazones, alpha,beta-unsaturated imines, pyridines, indoles, and pyrroles have developed. In addition, a new reaction that is mechanistically related to hydroamination, alkyne iminoamination, has been discovered. Iminoamination, which is a multicomponent coupling between an amine, alkyne, and isonitrile, provides unsymmetrical alpha, beta-unsaturated beta-iminoamines in a single, titanium-catalyzed step.

Abstract
Monomeric diolate amido yttrium complexes [Y[diolate][N(SiHMe(2))(2)](thf)(2)] can be prepared in good yield by treating [Y[N(SiHMe(2))(2)](3)(thf)(2)] with either 3,3'-di-tert-butyl-5,5',6,6'-tetramethyl-1,1'-biphenyl-2,2'-diol (H(2)(Biphen)), 3,3'-bis(2,4,6-triisopropylphenyl)-2,2'-dihydroxy-1,1'-dinaphthyl (H(2)(Trip(2)BINO)) or 3,3'-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-2,2'-dihydroxy-1,1'-dinaphthyl (H(2)(Dip(2)BINO)) in racemic and enantiopure form. The racemic complex [Y(biphen)[N(SiHMe(2))(2)](thf)(2)] dimerizes upon heating to give the heterochiral complex (R,S)-[Y(biphen)[N(SiHMe(2))(2)](thf)](2). The corresponding dimeric heterochiral lanthanum complex was the sole product in the reaction of H(2)(Biphen) with [La[N(SiHMe(2))(2)](3)(thf)(2)]. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction of both dimeric complexes revealed that the two Ln(biphen)[N(SiHMe(2))(2)](thf) fragments are connected through bridging phenolate groups of the biphenolate ligands. The two different phenolate groups undergo an intramolecular exchange process in solution leading to their equivalence on the NMR timescale. All complexes were active catalysts for the hydroamination/cyclization of aminoalkynes and aminoalkenes at elevated temperature, with [Y((R)-dip(2)bino)[N(SiHMe(2))(2)](thf)(2)] being the most active one giving enantioselectivities of up to 57 % ee. Kinetic resolution of 2-aminohex-5-ene proceeded with this catalyst with 6.4:1 trans selectivity to give 2,5-dimethylpyrrolidine with a k(rel) of 2.6.

Abstract
The aryloxotitanium complex 1 is a highly chemo- and regioselective catalyst for intermolecular hydroamination of terminal alkynes. Branched imines are obtained in good to excellent yield (up to 99%) with various primary aromatic and aliphatic amines. [reaction: see text]
