Abstract
AbstractThe multicomponent Povarov reaction represents a powerful approach for the construction of substances containing N-heterocyclic frameworks. By using the Povarov reaction, in addition to accessing tetrahydroquinolines, quinolines and julolidines in a single step, it is possible to form the following new bonds: two Csp

Abstract
A stable, hypervalent cyclic dibenzoiodolium salt acted as a strong halogen bonding (XB)-donor catalyst for [4+2] cycloaddition of 2-alkenylindoles, and not as an oxidizing agent. The cross-[4+2] cycloaddition of 2-vinylindoles with 2-alkenylindoles was catalyzed smoothly by the hypervalent cyclic dibenzoiodolium triflate catalyst to give the tetrahydrocarbazoles in up to 99 % yield with 17 : 1 diastereoselectivity. The hypervalent cyclic dibenzoiodolium salt was also applicable to the Povarov reaction of 2-vinylindole with N-p-methoxyphenyl (PMP) imine to give the indolyl-tetrahydroquinoline in 83 % yield.

Abstract
In recent years, the synthesis of quinoline scaffold using various methodological
devices has attracted considerable attention in synthetic chemist community. The most feasible
method to serve this purpose is Aza-Diels-Alder reaction which provides flexibility and diversity
in the synthesis of quinoline decorated with different functionalities over the scaffold.
Diversity in this functionality improvises the susceptibility of the quinoline scaffold for various
protein targets. This review encompasses multifactorial aspects of Aza-Diels-Alder reaction
as well as provides insights into the synthetic schemes for quinoline scaffold.

Abstract
The quinoline core possesses a vast number of biological activities such as anticancer, antimalarial, antimicrobial, antifungal, antitubercular and antileishmanial. The conventional classical synthetic methods require the use of expensive and harsh conditions such as high temperature. Currently the scientific communities are searching new methodology to eliminate the use of chemicals, solvents and catalysts, which are hazardous to human health as well as to environment. This review provides a concise overview of new dimensions of green chemistry approaches in designing quinoline scaffold that would encourage the researchers towards green chemistry as well as future application of these greener, non-toxic, environment friendly methods in designing quinoline scaffold.

Abstract
An easy and efficient procedure for the synthesis of 4-indolylquinoline derivatives is described. This process involves two steps, the first of which is the Michael addition of indole to nitrochalcones promoted by sulfamic acid under solvent free conditions and the second step is a reductive cyclization of the indolylnitrochalcone intermediates to 4-indolylquinoline derivatives by Fe/HCl in ethanol. In both steps, the reactions are clean and the yields of products are high.
