Accessing Bioactive Hydrazones by the Hydrohydrazination of Terminal Alkynes Catalyzed by Gold(I) Acyclic Aminooxy Carbene Complexes and Their Gold(I) Arylthiolato and Gold(III) Tribromo Derivatives: A Combined Experimental and Computational Study. Abstract
Hydrohydrazination of terminal alkynes with hydrazides yielding hydrazones 5-14 were successfully catalyzed by a series of gold(I) acyclic aminooxy carbene complexes of the type [{(4-R2-2,6-t-Bu2-C6H2O)(N(R1)2)}methylidene]AuCl, where R2 = H, R1 = Me (1b); R2 = H, R1 = Cy (2b); R2 = t-Bu, R1 = Me (3b); R2 = t-Bu, R1 = Cy (4b). The mass spectrometric evidence corroborated the existence of the catalytically active solvent-coordinated [(AAOC)Au(CH3CN)]SbF6 (1-4)A species and the acetylene-bound [(AAOC)Au(HC≡CPhMe)]SbF6 (3B) species of the proposed catalysis cycle. The hydrohydrazination reaction was successfully employed in synthesizing several bioactive hydrazone compounds (15-18) with anticonvulsant properties using a representative precatalyst (2b). The DFT studies favored the 4-ethynyltoluene (HC≡CPhMe) coordination pathway over the p-toluenesulfonyl hydrazide (NH2NHSO2C6H4CH3) coordination pathway, and that proceeded by a crucial intermolecular hydrazide-assisted proton transfer step. The gold(I) complexes (1-4)b were synthesized from the {[(4-R2-2,6-t-Bu2-C6H2O)(N(R1)2)]CH}+OTf- (1-4)a by treatment with (Me2S)AuCl in the presence of NaH as a base. The reactivity studies of (1-4)b yielded the gold(III) [{(4-R2-2,6-t-Bu2-C6H2O)(N(R1)2)}methylidene]AuBr3 (1-4)c complexes upon reaction with molecular bromine and the gold(I) perfluorophenylthiolato derivatives, [{(4-R2-2,6-t-Bu2-C6H2O)(N(R1)2)}methylidene]AuSC6F5 (1-4)d, upon treatment with C6F5SH.

Abstract
This review considers phosphine and N-heterocyclic carbene complexes of gold(I) that are used as (pre)catalysts for a range of reactions in organic synthesis. These are divided according to the structure of the ligand, with the narrative focusing on studies that offer a quantitative comparison between the ligands and readily available or widely used existing systems.

Abstract
Stabilized by a bulky N-heterocyclic carbene [BP DPr, 1,3-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-1,3-diazonine-2-ylidene] ligand, new silver carboxylate complexes of the form BP DPrAgO2 C-R (R=Me, Ph) have been synthesized and fully characterized in solution and in the solid state and implemented as sole catalysts (base-, additive-, and, in some cases, solvent-free) in the challenging fixation of carbon dioxide to unsubstituted propargylic derivatives for the synthesis of oxazolidinones and α-methylene cyclic carbonates. Derived from X-ray diffraction studies, the molecular geometry and the concept of buried volume were employed to describe the structural and steric features of these silver complexes. Their stability and efficiency as catalysts have been demonstrated by the synthesis of 29 carboxylation products (72-98 % yield) at low catalyst loadings (0.01-1.5 mol%). Characteristics are high turnover numbers (up to 9400), catalyst recyclability (up to 96 % yield after the 7th cycle with no decomposition of the silver complex), and the possibility to scale-up the reaction.

Abstract
This review continues consideration of the regioselectivity problem in the catalyzed hydrofunctionalization of unsaturated organic compounds and addresses hydroamination of unsaturated hydrocarbons. Particular parts of the review deal with reactions of alkenes, alkynes, allenes and dienes. It is shown that the selectivity of hydroamination depends on the natures of the reactants and the catalyst. Conditions of the reactions are described; in some cases, reaction mechanisms are discussed. Reactions for which divergent regioselectivity is possible are noted.

Abstract
Nine- and ten-membered N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands have been developed and for the first time their gold(I) complexes were synthesized. The protonated NHC pro-ligands 2 a-h were prepared by the reaction of readily available N,N'-diarylformamidines with bis-electrophilic building blocks, followed by anion exchange. In situ deprotonation of the tetrafluoroborates 2 a-h with tBuOK in the presence of AuCl(SMe2 ) provided fast access to NHC-gold(I) complexes 3-10. These new NHC-gold(I) complexes show very good catalytic activity in a cycloisomerization reaction (0.1 mol % catalyst loading, up to 100 % conversion) and their solid-state structures reveal high steric hindrance around the metal atom (%Vbur up to 53.0) which is caused by their expanded-ring architecture.

Abstract
A new type of eight-membered ring N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) bearing a rigid naphthalene moiety in the backbone is reported for the first time. Stereoelectronic properties of 4,5-dihydro-1H-naphtho[1,8-ef][1,3]diazocin-3(2H)-ylidene (NaphtDHD) and smaller ring NHCs were theoretically studied at the DFT level. Amidinium salts were prepared from corresponding amidines and dibromides. Free carbene NaphtDHD-Dipp (Dipp = 2,6-diisopropylphenyl) was generated in solution by treatment of the corresponding salt with LiHMDS. It is stable in solution at low temperatures, while decomposing rapidly at room temperature. Silver(i) and copper(i) complexes were synthesized and structurally characterized in the solid state. The copper(i) complex [(NaphtDHD-Mes)CuBr] (Mes = mesityl, 2,4,6-trimethylphenyl) exhibits high catalytic activity in alkyne-azide cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction under solvent-free conditions.
