Organophosphates as Versatile Substrates in Organic Synthesis

This review summarizes the applications of organophosphates in organic synthesis. After a brief introduction, it discusses cross-coupling reactions, including both transition-metal-catalyzed and transition-metal-free substitution reactions. Subsequently, oxidation and reduction reactions are described. In addition, this review highlights the applications of organophosphates in the synthesis of natural compounds, demonstrating their versatility and importance in modern synthetic chemistry.

The Recent Advances in Iron-Catalyzed C(sp3 )-H Functionalization

The use of iron as a core metal in catalysis has become a research topic of interest over the last few decades. The reasons are clear. Iron is the most abundant transition metal on Earth's crust and it is widely distributed across the world. It has been extracted and processed since the dawn of civilization. All these features render iron a noncontaminant, biocompatible, nontoxic, and inexpensive metal and therefore it constitutes the perfect candidate to replace noble metals (rhodium, palladium, platinum, iridium, etc.). Moreover, direct C-H functionalization is one of the most efficient strategies by which to introduce new functional groups into small organic molecules. The majority of organic compounds contain C(sp3 )-H bonds. Given the enormous importance of organic molecules in so many aspects of existence, the utilization and bioactivity of C(sp3 )-H bonds are of the utmost importance. This review sheds light on the substrate scope, selectivity, benefits, and limitations of iron catalysts for direct C(sp3 )-H bond activations. An overview of the use of iron catalysis in C(sp3 )-H activation protocols is summarized herein up to 2022.

Mechanistic and chemoselective insights on sp3- and sp2-C–H bond aminations: Fe- vs. Ir-based catalysis

The mechanisms of Fe- and Ir-catalyzed sp³- and sp²-C–H bond aminations of a styryl substrate have been studied using the BPW91 method, with an emphasis on the origin of sp³-to-sp²-C–H amination chemoselectivity.

Copper-catalyzed asymmetric allylic C–H amination of alkenes using N-arylhydroxylamines

The first Cu-catalyzed asymmetric allylic C–H amination of alkenes with N-aryl hydroxylamines has been developed. Metal-complexes isolation, ESI-MS analysis and the DFT calculations provided key insights on mechanistic pathway.

Mechanochemical Synthesis of 1,2,6-Thiadiazine 1-Oxides from Sulfonimidamides and the Fluorescence Properties of the Products

A solvent-free mechanochemical synthesis for 1,2,6-thiadiazine 1-oxides starting from NH-sulfonimidamides and propargyl ketones has been developed. Lewis acids affect these one-pot aza-Michael-addition/cyclization/dehydration reaction sequences. The photophysical properties of the resulting heterocyclic sulfonimidamide derivatives were characterized.

Copper-catalyzed ortho-C(sp2)-H amination of benzamides and picolinamides with alkylamines using oxygen as a green oxidant

A versatile Cu-catalyzed direct ortho-C(sp2)-H amination of benzamides and picolinamides with alkylamines has been achieved. This method employs cheap and eco-friendly copper as a catalyst and oxygen as an oxidant, and also has the advantages of straightforward steps and excellent functional group compatibility. Further application of our approach was demonstrated by the synthesis of TCMDC-125116, SPHINX, and SRPIN340.
