Abstract
As a low-calorie sugar, D-allulose is produced from D-fructose catalyzed by D-allulose 3-epimerase (DAE). Here, to improve the catalytic activity, stability, and processability of DAE, we reported a novel method by forming organic-inorganic hybrid nanoflowers (NF-DAEs) and co-immobilizing them on resins to form composites (Re-NF-DAEs). NF-DAEs were prepared by combining DAE with metal ions (Co2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Ca2+, Ni2+, Fe2+, and Fe3+) in PBS buffer, and were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. All of the NF-DAEs showed higher catalytic activities than free DAE, and the NF-DAE with Ni2+ (NF-DAE-Ni) reached the highest relative activity of 218%. The NF-DAEs improved the thermal stability of DAE, and the longest half-life reached 228 min for NF-DAE-Co compared with 105 min for the free DAE at 55 °C. To further improve the recycling performance of the NF-DAEs in practical applications, we combined resins and NF-DAEs to form Re-NF-DAEs. Resins and NF-DAEs co-effected the performance of the composites, and ReA (LXTE-606 neutral hydrophobic epoxy-based polypropylene macroreticular resins)-based composites (ReA-NF-DAEs) exhibited outstanding relative activities, thermal stabilities, storage stabilities, and processabilities. The ReA-NF-DAEs were able to be reused to catalyze the conversion from D-fructose to D-allulose, and kept more than 60% of their activities after eight cycles.

Abstract
(R)-N-(2,6-dimethylphenyl) aminopropionic acid methyl ester ((R)-DMPM) is an important chiral intermediate of the fungicide N-(2,6-Dimethylphenyl)-N-(methoxyacetyl)-alanine methyl ester ((R)-Metalaxyl). In this study, (1) D3520 (macroporous acrylic anion resin), selected from the ten resins, was used to immobilize the esterase from Pseudochrobactrum asaccharolyticum WZZ003 (PAE07) for resoluting the (R,S)-DMPM to obtain (R)-DMPM. (2) Up to 20 g/L PAE07 could be immobilized onto D3520 with a high enzymatic activity of 32.4 U/g. Moreover, the Km and Vmax values of 19.1 mM and 2.8 mM/min for D3520-immobilized PAE07 indicated its high activity and stereoselectivity. (3) The optimal temperature and pH for the immobilized PAE07 were 40 ℃ and 8.0, and substrate concentration was up to 0.35 M. After 15 h reaction, the conversion rate from (R,S)-DMPM to (R)-DMPM was 48.0% and the e.e.p and E values were 99.5% and 1393.0, respectively. In scale-up resolution, 200 g/L substrate and 12.5 g immobilized esterase PAE07 condition, a conversion rate from substrate to product of 48.1% and a product e.e.p of 98% were obtained within 12 h, with the activity of immobilized PAE07 retained 80.2% after 5 cycles of reactions. These results indicated that the D3520-immobilized esterase PAE07 had great potential for enzymatic resolution of (R,S)-DMPM to prepare (R)-Metalaxyl.

Abstract
In this work, Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) was synthesized by inverting microemulsion method. After that, based on the physical and chemical properties of tannic acid (TA), poly tannic acid (PTA) was coated on Fe3O4 NPs surface. Fe3O4 NPs coated with PTA, on the one hand, was used to immobilize Penicillin G acylase (PGA) by physical adsorption. On the other hand, it was modified by glutaraldehyde (GA). GA grafting rate (Gr-GA) was optimized, and the Gr-GA was 30.0% under the optimum conditions. Then, through the Schiff base reaction between the glutaraldehyde group and PGA amino group, this covalent immobilization of PGA was further realized under mild conditions. Finally, the structures of every stage of magnetic composites were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), vibration magnetometer (VSM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), respectively. The results indicated that the enzyme activity (EA), enzyme activity recovery (EAR) and maximum load (ELC) of the immobilized PGA were 26843 U/g, 80.2% and 125 mg/g, respectively. Compared to the physical immobilization of PGA by only coating PTA nanoparticles, further modified nanoparticles by GA showed higher catalytic stability, reusability and storage stability.

Abstract
Novel nano-composites were prepared by coating epoxy resin-based cationic polymer in nano-thickness via in-situ curing on the nano-wall of macroporous SiO2 with pore size of 0.5∼1 μm. By changing the thickness of polymer coating the specific surface area and porosity varied in range of 115∼74 m2/g and 90.4∼83.9 %, respectively. Through ion exchange phospholipase D (PLD, from Streptomyces sp) was efficiently immobilized on the nano-composites as support and the immobilized PLD was applied for the highly efficient synthesis of phosphatidylserine (PS). The loading amount of PLD on the nano-composited support reached to a maximum of 90.2 mg/gsupport, 4 times as high as that on the pure macroporous silica. The specific activity of the immobilized PLD reached as high as 16,230 U/gprotein, while that of free PLD was 18,780 U/gprotein. Under a wide range of temperature and pH the stability and activity of the immobilized PLD were greatly improved as compared with the free ones. Under optimized conditions at 45 °C and pH 7.0, the PS yield reached as high as 96.2 % within 40 min. After 28 days storage the immobilized PLD retained 82.2 % of original activity, and after 12 cycling reuses it retained 79.3 % of PS yield, which indicated that the immobilized PLD exhibited good stability.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of the present study was to design nanocarriers for the topical application of rivastigmine. METHODS The effect of cosurfactants, hydrophilic gel and loading amount on the permeability of rivastigmine through rat skin was evaluated. Skin irritation tests and stability tests were performed to evaluate the utility of tested formulations. RESULTS The results showed that the microemulsion formation and characteristics of drug-loaded formulations were related to many parameters of the components. When using microemulsion systems as a vehicle, the permeation rate remarkably increased about 13.2~24.3-fold and the lag time was significantly shortened from 24 h to 4.7 h. Formulations containing a cosurfactant of Diethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether (DEGBE) showed higher enhancement effect, while increasing the loading dose from 0.5% to 5% further increased the flux about 2.1-fold and shortened the lag time. CONCLUSION The drug-loaded experimental formulation did not cause skin irritation and had good stability at 20ºC and 40ºC storage for at least 3 months. The result showed that gel-based microemulsion formulation could be a promising approach for topical administration.

Abstract
BACKGROUND β-lactam antibiotics are the most used worldwide for the treatment of bacterial infections. The consumption of these classes of drugs is high, and it is increasing around the world. To date, the best way to produce them is using penicillin G Acylase (PGA) as a biocatalyst. OBJECTIVE This manuscript offers an overview of the most recent advances in the current tools to improve the activity of the PGA and its pharmaceutical application. RESULTS Several microorganisms produce PGA, but some bacterial strains represent the primary source of this enzyme. The activity of bacterial PGA depends on its adequate expression and carbon or nitrogen source, as well as a specific pH or temperature depending on the nature of the PGA. Additionally, the PGA activity can be enhanced by immobilizing it to a solid support to recycle it for a prolonged time. Likewise, PGAs more stable and with higher activity are obtained from bacterial hosts genetically modified. CONCLUSION PGA is used to produce b-lactam antibiotics. However, this enzyme has pharmaceutical potential to be used to obtain critical molecules for the synthesis of anti-tumor, antiplatelet, antiemetic, antidepressive, anti-retroviral, antioxidant, and antimutagenic drugs.
