Abstract
In this study, a new bodipy/pillar[5]arene functionalized magnetic MS-Sp-P[5]-bodipy microcapsule sensor was prepared based on the use of environmentally friendly for the selective and sensitive detection of Cu(II) and Hg(II) ions in aqueous media. SEM results used in the characterization process of the materials synthesized at each stage confirmed the structural and morphological changes in the pore structure, while other characterization results (FT-IR and XRD) elucidated the role of pillar[5]arene compound and bodipy dye in the synthesis of magnetic microcapsule sensors. The colloidal solution of MS-Sp-P[5]-bodipy (water/ethanol)) showed two fluorescence bands centered at 402 and 540 nm. The detection limits of MS-Sp-P[5]-bodipy for Hg(II) and Cu(II) were calculated to be 0.06 µM and 2.27 µM, respectively (at 540 nm). The linear range of the magnetic sensor for Hg(II) and Cu(II) was found to be in the range of 1-150 µM and 10-150 µM, respectively. The experimental results (response time, pH, temperature, sensitivity and selectivity) demonstrated the applicability and potential of the prepared magnetic microcapsule sensor for the detection of Cu(II) and Hg(II) in water and tap water samples containing heavy metal ions.

Abstract
In this work, a hydrophilic naphthalimide-based fluorescence chemosensor (sensor 1) was synthesized for Cu2+ recognition, in which 2-(2-aminoethoxy)ethanol was introduced to improve the hydrophily and Schiff base acted as the multidentate ligand for Cu2+. The effect factors, sensing mechanism and regenerability of sensor 1 for Cu2+ sensing were systematically investigated. It was found that sensor 1 displayed a long emission wavelength of 532 nm upon excited in visible light region (436 nm), and the good water solubility made it utilized in aqueous media. It could selectively react with Cu2+ over other common metal ions to form a 2:1 complex within 1 min and result in significant fluorescence quench. The fluorescence change was linear to 0.5-10.0 μmol L-1 of Cu2+ with a low detection limit of 3.74 × 10-8 mol L-1. Sensor 1 has been successfully utilized for analyzing Cu2+ in water samples as well as imaging cellular Cu2+. Moreover, in view of fluorescence "on-off-on" switches of sensor 1 induced by Cu2+ and EDTA, an IMPLICATION logic gate was constructed based on fluorescence mode with Cu2+ and EDTA as inputs.

Abstract
A new hydrazone-based colorimetric Cu2+ chemosensor is synthesized. Its structure was confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Its binding properties towards various metal ions are examined through absorption spectroscopy. In aqueous THF solution, the chemosensor exhibits selective recognition towards Cu2+ over other metal ions with a colour change from colourless to pink. The complex formed between the chemosensor and Cu2+ ions forms a 2:1 stoichiometry with an association constant of 2.46 × 108M−2. The analytical detection limit for Cu2+ by the naked eye is as low as 10.0 μM.

Abstract
A novel Al3+ chemosensor NPA was designed and synthesized on basis of the mechanism of ICT and CHEF. Upon addition of Al3+, the probe NPA displayed a bright green fluorescence under UV radiation and visual color change from yellow to colorless. Spectrum titrations showed that NPA could be recognized as a fluorescent turn-on probe with 10-8 M detection level. The probe was successfully applied in real water sample and test paper. More important, NPA-Al3+ complex were used as a fluorescent turn-off probe for the detection of ClO- with the detection as low as 2.34 × 10-8 M. The performance of NPA to Al3+ and NPA-Al3+ complex to ClO- demonstrated that NPA could be served as a sensitive probe and exhibit INHIBIT logic gate behavior with Al3+ and ClO- as inputs.

Abstract
A new fluorescent probe P derived from naphthalimide bearing a pyridine group has been synthesized and characterized. The proposed probe P shows high selectivity and sensitivity to Cu2+ in aqueous media. Under optimized conditions, the linear response of P (2 μM) toward Cu2+ was 0.05-0.9 μM in ethanol-water solution (3:2, v:v, 50 mM HEPES, pH 7.4), and the detection limit was 0.03 μM.
