Abstract
N,N-Dimethylformamide was reacted with hexamethyldisilazane to generate an N,N-dimethylformimidamide intermediate; thereafter, a reaction with acetophenones/β-diketones was induced to form enaminones. The one-pot synthetic protocol described in this paper can be applied to synthesize 1,4-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles and 1,4,5-trisubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles, in which organic azides are used as substrates under optimized conditions. Furthermore, this protocol uses readily available materials, is nearly free of solvent, can be applied to gram-scale operations, and leads to the formation of structurally diverse products with favorable yields.

Abstract
A mechanochemistry approach is developed for regioselective synthesis of functionalized dihydropyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidines by milling propargylic alcohols and 6-aminouracils with HFIP/p-TsOH. In the case of tert-propargyl alcohols, this [3+3] cascade annulation proceeded through allenylation of uracil followed by a 6-endo trig cyclization. With sec-propargyl alcohols, the reaction furnished the propargylation of uracil. This atom economy ball milling reaction allows access to a broad range of dihydropyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives in excellent yields. We demonstrated the gram scale synthesis of 3 g and post-synthetic modifications to effect the cyclization of 5 to 6.

Abstract
Propargylic alcohols are one of the readily available and highly explored building blocks in organic synthesis. They show distinct reactivities compared to simple alcohols and/or alkynes, and hence provide diverse possibilities to develop novel synthetic strategies for the construction of polycyclic systems, including heterocycles. The six-membered heterocycles, pyridines, quinolines, and isoquinolines, are very important privileged structures in medicinal chemistry and drug discovery due to their broad spectrum of biological activities. They are also part of vitamins, nucleic acids, pharmaceuticals, antibiotics, dyes, and agrochemicals. Many synthetic strategies have been developed for the rapid and efficient generation of these cyclic systems. One such strategy is employing the propargylic alcohols as reactants in the form of either a 3-carbon component or 2-carbon unit. Thus, in this review article, we aimed to summarize various approaches to pyridines, quinolines, and isoquinolines from propargylic alcohols. To the best of our knowledge, so far, no focused reviews have appeared on this topic in the literature. Due to the many reports available, we also restricted ourselves to the developments during the past 17 years, i.e., 2005-2021. We strongly believe that this review article provides comprehensive coverage of research articles on the title topic, and will be of great value for the organic synthetic community for further developments in this area of research.

Abstract
![]()
A metal-free protocol
for the synthesis of substituted 1,6-dihydropyridines
with quaternary stereogenic centers via a cascade aza-Wittig/6π-electrocyclization
process has been developed. The high functional group compatibility
and broad scope of this method were demonstrated by using a wide range
of easily available vinyliminophosphoranes and ketones, with
yields up to 97%. A modification of the obtained products allowed
for an increase in complexity and chemical diversity. Finally, attempts
for asymmetric synthesis of 1,6-dihydropyridines are demonstrated.

Abstract
The advent of multicomponent reactions in the synthesis of heterocycles and their ever burgeoning applications in drug development, materials chemistry, and catalysis, have attracted a great deal of current scientific interest. In particular, the metal-free multicomponent synthesis of six membered N-heterocycles has undergone intensive research over the last two decades offering an environmentally benevolent means contrary to traditional metal catalysed reactions. To the best of our knowledge, there exists no exclusive review on the metal-free multicomponent synthesis of six membered N-heterocyles, and hence the present report highlights the progress on metal-free multicomponent reactions with their advantages and mechanistic insights to access monocyclic six-membered N-heterocycles including pyridine, pyrimidine, pyrazine, triazine and their hydrogenated derivatives. The literature is covered since 2000, and the contents offer not only striking methods for divergent synthesis of six-membered N-heterocycles but also put forward some new insights into the exploration of metal-free multicomponent chemistry.

Abstract
We describe a practical protocol for efficiently preparing diaryl sulfide compounds using Cu–OMS-2 as the catalyst. Cu–OMS-2 originates from manganese oxide octahedral molecular sieves modified with copper ions and catalyzes the C–S coupling reaction of substituted thiophenols and aryl halides. This protocol has the advantages of environmental friendliness, simple operation, high yields, good tolerance of functional groups, and the Cu–OMS-2 catalytic material can be recycled several times.

Abstract
A convenient strategy for synthesis of the various derivatives of 1,4-dihydropyridine (1,4-DHP), as one of the most important pharmaceutical compounds, is presented in this study. For this purpose, firstly, magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (Fe3O4 NPs) were fabricated and suitably coated by silica network (SiO2) and trimethoxy vinylsilane (TMVS). Then, their surfaces were well functionalized with pyrimidine-2,4-diamine (PDA) as the main active sites for catalyzing the synthesis reactions. In this regard, the performance of three different methods including reflux, microwave (MW) and ultrasound wave (USW) irradiations have been comparatively monitored via studying various analyses on the fabricated nanocatalyst (Fe3O4/SiO2-PDA). Concisely, high efficiency of the USW irradiation (in an ultrasound cleaning bath with a frequency of 50 kHz and power of 250 W/L) has been well proven through the investigation of the main factors such as excellent surface-functionalization, core/shell structure conservation, particle uniformity, close size distribution of the particles, and great inhibition of the particle aggregation. Then, the effectiveness of the USW irradiation as a promising co-catalyst agent has been clearly demonstrated in the 1,4-DHP synthesis reactions. It has been concluded that the USW could provide more appropriate conditions for activation of the catalytic sites of Fe3O4/SiO2-PDA NPs. However, high reaction yields (89%) have been obtained in the short reaction times (10 min) due to the substantial synergistic effect between the presented nanocatalyst and USW.

Abstract
An efficient and green synthesis of 4-ferrocenylquinoline derivatives through a TsOH-catalyzed three-component reaction of aromatic aldehydes, amines and ferrocenylacetylene in water has been successfully developed. This strategy is a powerful method for the construction of diverse ferrocenyl-quinoline conjugates from simple available starting materials as it minimized the use of metal catalyst and organic solvent in the reaction process. The conjugates feature unique structures and excellent electronic properties. Moreover, a plausible mechanism for this TsOH-catalyzed three-component reaction was proposed and assessed.
