Abstract
A neighboring boronate group in the substrate provides a dramatic rate acceleration in transmetalation to copper and thereby enables organoboronic esters to participate in unprecedented site-selective cross-couplings. This cross-coupling operates under practical experimental conditions and allows for coupling between vicinal bis(boronic esters) and allyl, alkynyl, and propargyl electrophiles as well as a simple proton. Because the reactive substrates are vicinal bis(boronic esters), the cross-coupling described herein provides an expedient new method for the construction of boron-containing reaction products from alkenes. Mechanistic experiments suggest that chelated cyclic ate complexes may play a role in the transmetalation.

Abstract
α-Allenol is a versatile synthon in organic synthesis. The catalytic asymmetric synthesis of α-allenols from readily available starting materials remains a prominent challenge, especially when simultaneous control over axial and central chirality is required. Herein, we describe the Cr-catalyzed enantioconvergent allenylation of aldehydes with racemic propargyl halides to rapidly access a wide range of chiral α-allenols with adjacent axial and central chiralities. This method features excellent regio-, diastereo- and enantioselectivity control with broad substrate scope, and provides facile access to all four stereoisomers when allied with a Mitsunobu reaction. Preliminary mechanistic studies support radical-based reaction pathways. The synthetic utility is demonstrated by the application in late-stage functionalization and the formal total synthesis of (+)-varitriol.

Abstract
A general procedure for the one-pot synthesis of racemic homoallenyl alcohols from the corresponding aldehyde and chloroprene-derived Grignards is described. Employing bis[2-dimethylaminoethyl]ether (BDMAEE) as an additive at low temperatures shifts the selectivity of the chloroprene Grignard addition to aldehydes such that it is almost exclusive toward allene formation. In a set of follow-up experiments, simple and more elaborate methods for further derivatization have been demonstrated, allowing quick access to more complex structures.

Abstract
A simple one-pot synthesis of β-hydroxyallenamides is reported. This procedure entails chemo- and regioselective hydroboration of 3-en-1-ynyl-sulfonylamides with Cy2BH followed by homoallenylation of aldehydes to yield β-hydroxyallenamides (up to 94% yield and >20:1 dr). Controlled synthesis of up to three continuous stereochemical elements was realized. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations suggest a concerted Zimmerman-Traxler chair-like transition state. Initial results suggest that enantio- and diastereoselective synthesis of β-hydroxyallenamides with optically active hydroboration reagents is viable.

Abstract
A diastereoselective and stereodivergent rhodium-catalyzed intramolecular coupling of sulfonylcarbamates with terminal allenes is described and it provides selective access to 1,3-aminoalcohol derivatives, scaffolds found in bioactive compounds. The reaction is compatible with a large range of different functional groups, thus furnishing products with high diastereoselectivities and yields. Moreover, multigram scale reactions, as well as the application of suitable product transformations were demonstrated.

Abstract
All-catalytic route to trisubstituted allenes: The first examples of catalytic enantioselective allylic substitution reactions that involve alkyne-based nucleophiles and lead to products having tertiary stereogenic centers are followed by an exceptionally stereospecific amine-catalyzed isomerization to trisubstituted allenes (see picture; NHC = N-heterocyclic carbene).

Abstract
A new class of chiral tridentate N-donor pincer ligands, bis(oxazolinylmethylidene)isoindolines (boxmi), was synthesized in three steps starting from readily available phthalimides. Their reaction with ethyl (triphenylphosphoranylidene)acetate by means of a key-step Wittig reaction gave the ligand backbones, which were condensed with amino alcohols and then cyclized to obtain the corresponding ligands. These ligands were subsequently applied in the nickel(II)-catalyzed enantioselective fluorination of oxindoles and β-ketoesters to obtain the corresponding products with enantioselectivities of up to >99% ee and high yields. Application of the chiral pincer ligands in the chromium-catalyzed enantioselective Nozaki-Hiyama-Kishi reaction of aldehydes gave the corresponding alcohols with an optimal enantioselectivity of 93%.
