Abstract
Selective C-F bond functionalization of CF3 group represents an appealing strategy for the incorporation of pharmaceutically privileged difluoromethylene moiety. Despite the recent significant advancement attained in the functionalization of Ar-CF3 molecules, prescriptions amenable for alkenyl-CF3 congeners remain sufficiently inadequate. Herein, we report a strategically novel protocol for the C-F bond elaboration of trifluoromethylalkene derivatives. By using readily available allyl metallics as nucleophilic coupling partner, the present reaction enables an expedient construction of structurally diversified CF2 -bridged 1,5-dienes. Furthermore, the exquisite selectivity observed in this transformation is revealed to be based on the underlying mechanism that consists of a cascade of nucleophilic SN 2' defluorinative allylation and electronically promoted Cope rearrangement.

Abstract
A visible-light-mediated [3+3] annulation of tertiary amines with α-trifluoromethyl alkenes was developed. The reaction offers a direct route to fluorinated tetrahydropyridines and azabicyclo[3.m.1] frameworks under very mild conditions. This protocol presents a rare example of dual sp3 C-H functionalization of tertiary amines with the formation of two different C-C bonds (one sp3 -sp3 bond, one sp2 -sp3 bond). Moreover, two consecutive C-F substitutions in a trifluoromethyl group were achieved in one pot using visible light photoredox catalysis, which enables an unprecedented ring construction.

Abstract
We report a highly stereoselective synthesis of all-carbon or fluorinated tetrasubstituted alkenes from diazo reagents and fluorinated enol silyl ethers, using C-F bond as a synthetic handle. Cationic AuI catalysis plays a key role in this reaction. Remarkable fluorine effects on the reactivity and selectivity was also observed.

Abstract
Two birds, one stone! The first kinetic resolution of allyl fluorides was achieved by the development of an organocatalyzed enantioselective allylic trifluoromethylation. Two kinds of chiral fluorinated compounds, which incorporate C*F and C*CF3 units, respectively, can thus be accessed by a single transformation.

Abstract
Over the past decade, the most significant, conceptual advances in the field of fluorination were enabled most prominently by organo- and transition-metal catalysis. The most challenging transformation remains the formation of the parent C-F bond, primarily as a consequence of the high hydration energy of fluoride, strong metal-fluorine bonds, and highly polarized bonds to fluorine. Most fluorination reactions still lack generality, predictability, and cost-efficiency. Despite all current limitations, modern fluorination methods have made fluorinated molecules more readily available than ever before and have begun to have an impact on research areas that do not require large amounts of material, such as drug discovery and positron emission tomography. This Review gives a brief summary of conventional fluorination reactions, including those reactions that introduce fluorinated functional groups, and focuses on modern developments in the field.
