Abstract
Controlling the number of molecular switches and their relative positioning within porous materials is critical to their functionality and properties. The proximity of many molecular switches to one another can hinder or completely suppress their response. Herein, a synthetic strategy involving mixed linkers is used to control the distribution of spiropyran-functionalized linkers in a covalent organic framework (COF). The COF contains a spiropyran in each pore which exhibits excellent reversible photoswitching behavior to its merocyanine form in the solid state in response to UV/Vis light. The spiro-COF possesses an urchin-shaped morphology and exhibits a morphological transition to 2D nanosheets and vesicles in solution upon UV light irradiation. The merocyanine-equipped COFs are extremely stable and possess a more ordered structure with enhanced photoluminescence. This approach to modulating structural isomerization in the solid state is used to develop inkless printing media, while the photomediated polarity change is used for water harvesting applications.

Abstract
Molecular weight has an important bearing on the properties of supramolecular polymers. However, the intuitive differentiation of the molecular weight of supramolecular polymers remains challenging. Given this situation, establishing a reliable relationship between fluorescence properties and molecular weight may be a promising strategy. Herein, we prepared a supramolecular monomer M1 with aggregation-induced ratiometric emission characteristics. With the increasing M1 concentration (0.100-100 mM), the average degree of polymerization (DPDOSY ) rose from 1.00 to 293. Meanwhile, the color changed from dark blue to cyan, finally to yellow-green in the same concentration range. Hence, the intuitive relationship between DPDOSY and fluorescence colors was constructed, allowing the visual differentiation of molecular weight. Moreover, the fluorescence color could be regulated by introducing a competitive molecule to induce the depolymerization of supramolecular polymers.

Abstract
Near-infrared (NIR) responsiveness is important for various applications. Currently, single-photon NIR-responsive systems are rare compared to systems that display two-photon absorption and triplet-triplet annihilation processes. Supramolecular stacking of photo-responsive chromophores results in decreased efficiency due to space-confinement effects. Herein we show that σ-platination of pentacenes is a feasible protocol to build single-photon NIR-responsive systems, with advantages including a low HOMO-LUMO energy gap, high photochemical efficiency, and pathway specificity. The pentacene-to-endoperoxidation transformation is accompanied by color and absorbance changes. The high photo-oxygenation efficiency of σ-platinated pentacenes facilitates NIR responsiveness in one-dimensional supramolecular polymers, resulting in the disappearance of supramolecular chirality signals and disruption of self-assembled nanofibers. Overall, the σ-platination strategy opens up new avenues toward NIR photo-responsive materials at the molecular and supramolecular levels.

Abstract
Phosphorescent materials with bright emission in versatile media are important for their practical applications, which require to lower the susceptibility of triplet excitons to surroundings. Herein a non-covalent clipping strategy has been developed to attain this objective, by designing a tweezer receptor to encapsulate PtII -based triplet emitters through two-fold π-stacking interactions. The PtII emitters display robust phosphorescence by virtue of synergistic rigidifying and shielding effects, which are hardly influenced by emitter concentration, oxygen content, and solvent polarity changes. The phosphorescent colors are elaborately modulated by varying ligand substitutes on PtII emitters. Circularly polarized phosphorescence is further amplified for chiral PtII emitters, by taking advantage of dual phosphorescence and chirality enhancement upon non-covalent tweezer complexation. Overall, the clipping approach paves the way for the development of high-performance phosphorescent materials with bright emission, environmental robustness, and facile color tunability.

Abstract
Supramolecular chirogenesis has emerged as an effective strategy to access symmetry breaking in artificial systems. However, the chirogenic signals suffer from high susceptibility toward environmental variations. An effective strategy has been developed to address this issue by constructing platinum(II)-based tweezer/guest complexes stabilized by two-fold donor-acceptor and PtII -PtII metal-metal interactions. Upon guest encapsulation, the two pincers on the achiral PtII tweezer undergo a stereospecific twist to minimize steric repulsion, thus locking tweezer/guest complexes into the preferred chiral conformations. The induced chiroptical effects display outstanding solvent and temperature tolerance, ascribed to the balance between electrostatic and desolvation effects for the involved non-covalent interactions. Moreover, hierarchical and multi-component supramolecular assembly of tweezer/guest complexes provide a convenient way to modulate chirogeneic signals for their intensities.

Abstract
Supramolecular polymers show great potential in the development of new materials because of their inherent recyclability and their self-healing and stimuli-responsive properties. Supramolecular conductive polymers are generally obtained by the assembly of individual aromatic molecules into columnar arrays that provide an optimal channel for electronic transport. A new approach is reported to prepare supramolecular polymers by hooking together sigmoidal monomers into 1D arrays of π-stacked anthracene and acridine units, which gives rise to micrometer-sized fibrils that show pseudoconductivities in line with other conducting materials. This approach paves the way for the design of new supramolecular polymers constituted by acene derivatives with enhanced excitonic and electronic transporting properties.

Abstract
Supramolecular polymers with multiple functionalities and hierarchical structures have received considerable attention and become a hot research topic over the past years. Herein, a main-chain supramolecular polymer has been successfully fabricated by using metal-ligand interactions and a thiol-ene click reaction. 1 H NMR, UV/Vis, DOSY, and viscosity measurements were carried out to investigate the molecular recognition and the process of supramolecular polymerization. From the study, the orthogonality between thiol-ene click reactions and the terpyridine-metal ions complexation behavior was testified, and supramolecular polymeric assemblies could be constructed by a one pot method. In the meantime, due to the incorporation of metal-ligand interactions, the supramolecular polymer shows stimuli-responsive properties toward chemical stimuli. Hence, this work could provide a methodology for developing supramolecular polymers as smart materials.

Abstract
An amphiphilic compound, 5-(4'-dodecyloxyphenyl)-10,15,20-tri(permethyl-β-CD)-modified Zn(II)-porphyrin (1; β-CD = β-cyclodextrin), was synthesized by means of the click reaction of an alkylated Zn-porphyrin derivative with 6-deoxy-6-azidopermethyl-β-CD. The complexation between 1 and tetrasodium tetraphenylporphyrintetrasulfonate (5) with different molar ratios led to the formation of two distinctly different nanoarchitectures, which were proven to be vesicle and network aggregates, respectively, by using dynamic light scattering, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and atomic force microscopy. On the basis of the results of the time-dependent TEM studies, fluorescence, and NMR spectroscopic measurements, we have determined that the mechanism of the morphology transition from vesicles to networks is controlled by the stepwise complexation of 1 with 5. Furthermore, these supramolecular nanoarchitectures show the controlled- release property of doxorubicin as potential candidates for drug delivery.

Abstract
A novel supramolecular polymer, DMeP5@TImPor, was successfully constructed via host–guest interactions between the host molecule, bis-(methoxy-pillar[5]arene) (DMeP5), and the guest molecule, 5,10,15,20-tetrakis{butoxy-4-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)}porphyrine (TImPor).

Abstract
Supramolecular polymers are constructed based on the novel bis[alkynylplatinum(II)] terpyridine molecular tweezer/pyrene recognition motif. Successive addition of anthracene as the diene and cyano-functionalized dienophile triggers the reversible supramolecular polymerization process, thus advancing the concept of utilizing Diels-Alder chemistry to access stimuli-responsive materials in compartmentalized systems.
