Abstract
Synthesis of versatile β tert-boryl amides is accomplished by conjunctive cross-coupling of α-substituted alkenyl boron "ate" complexes and carbamoyl chloride electrophiles. This reaction can be accomplished in an enantioselective fashion using a palladium catalyst in combination with MandyPhos. The addition of water results in enhanced chemoselectivity for the conjunctive coupling product relative to the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling product. Transformations of the reaction products were examined as well as application to the synthesis of (+)-adalinine.

Abstract
We present herein a novel strategy for the preparation of ketones from aldehydes and allylic boronicesters. This reaction involves the allylation of aldehydes with allylic boronicesters and the Rh-catalyzed chain-walking of homoallylic alcohols. The key to this successful development is the protodeboronation of alkenyl borylether intermediate via a tetravalent borate anion species in the presence of KHF 2 and MeOH. This approach features mild reaction conditions, broad substrate scope, and excellent functional group tolerance. Mechanistic studies also supported that the tandem allylation and chain-walking process was involved.

Abstract
We report herein the development of stereodivergent syntheses of enantioenriched homoallylic alcohols using chiral nonracemic α-CH2 Bpin-substituted crotylboronate. Chiral phosphoric acid (S)-A-catalyzed asymmetric allyl addition with the reagent gave Z-anti-homoallylic alcohols with excellent enantioselectivities and Z-selectivities. When the enantiomeric acid catalyst (R)-A was utilized, the stereoselectivity was completely reversed and E-anti-homoallylic alcohols were obtained with high E-selectivities and excellent enantioselectivities. By pairing the chirality of the boron reagent with the catalyst, two complementary stereoisomers of chiral homoallylic alcohols can be obtained selectively from the same boron reagent. DFT computational studies were conducted to probe the origins of the observed stereoselectivity. These reactions generate highly enantioenriched homoallylic alcohol products that are valuable for rapid construction of polyketide structural frameworks.

Abstract
Brønsted acid-catalyzed general Petasis allylation and isoprenylation of unactivated ketones were developed by using o-hydroxyaniline and the corresponding pinacolyl boronic esters. This robust methodology provided access to a broad variety of quaternary homoallylic amines and dienyl amines in high yields, proved to be applicable to a gram-scale synthesis, and allowed the synthesis of a potentially bioactive quaternary homoallylic aminodiol.

Abstract
A catalytic diastereo- and enantioselective method for the preparation of complex tertiary homoallylic alcohols containing a vicinal quaternary carbon stereogenic center and a versatile alkenylboronic ester is disclosed. Transformations are promoted by 5 mol % of a readily available copper catalyst bearing a bulky monodentate phosphoramidite ligand, which is essential for attaining both high dr and er. Reactions proceed with a wide variety of ketones and allylic 1,1-diboronate reagents, which enables the efficient preparation of diverse array of molecular scaffolds.

Abstract
Herein we show a novel approach toward the allylation of indoles. Thereby, we explore a class of bench-stable allylboronates and fine-tune their reactivity. The allylations of different substituted indoles proceed with negligible diastereo- and excellent enantioselectivities. This surprising selectivity (up to 99:1 er, up to ≈60:40 dr) is rationalized by DFT calculations.

Abstract
Alkenyl boronic esters are important reagents in organic synthesis. Herein, we report that these valuable products can be accessed by the homologation of boronic esters with lithiated epoxysilanes. Aliphatic and electron-rich aromatic boronic esters provided vinylidene boronic esters in moderate to high yields, while electron-deficient aromatic and vinyl boronic esters were found to give the corresponding vinyl silane products. Through DFT calculations, this divergence in mechanistic pathway has been rationalized by considering the stabilization of negative charge in the C-Si and C-B bond breaking transition states. This vinylidene homologation was used in a short six-step stereoselective synthesis of the proposed structure of machillene, however, synthetic and reported data were found to be inconsistent.

Abstract
The first catalytic method for diastereo- and enantioselective synthesis of allylic boronates bearing a Z-trisubstituted alkenyl fluoride is disclosed. Boryl substitution is performed with either a Z- or E-allyldifluoride and is catalyzed by bisphosphine/Cu complexes, affording products in up to 99 % yield with >98:2 Z/E selectivity and 99:1 enantiomeric ratio. A variety of subsequent modifications are feasible, and notable examples are diastereoselective additions to aldehydes/aldimines to access homoallylic alcohols/amines containing a fluorosubstituted stereogenic quaternary center.

Abstract
A neighboring hydroxyl group-assisted allylboration of 3-indolyl ketones with γ,γ-disubstituted allylboronic acids is reported, affording various 3-indolyl-substituted homoallylic alcohols in good yields with excellent diastereoselectivies (up to >20:1 dr). The hydroxyl group not only played a vital role in the challenging allylboration but was elaborated for the subsequent construction of a hapalindole cyclohexane core by a highly diastereoselective Lewis acid-catalyzed carbonyl-ene reaction. In the overall process, four contiguous stereogenic centers including two quaternary stereogenic centers were installed.

Abstract
Highly enantioenriched, chromatographically-stable secondary allyl boronates featuring a 1,1,2,2-tetraethyl-1,2-ethanediol fragment (Epin) were obtained by kinetic resolution of their racemic mixtures. The Epin group at boron considerably improved stability of allyl boronates allowing them to be readily isolated by chromatography on silica. The resolved reagents were applied in stereoselective synthesis of homoallylic amines with an internal double bond employing unprotected imines formed in situ from aldehydes and ammonia. The reactions proceeded with an excellent transfer of chirality.

Abstract
Allylboron reagents are popular in synthesis owing to their versatility and the predictable stereochemical outcomes of their reactions with carbonyl compounds. Herein, we describe the synthesis of (Z,Z)-hexadienyl bis-boronate 1, a configurationally stable, crystalline, and easy to handle compound, which represents a class of bis-allylic boron reagents with heretofore untapped synthetic potential. In combination with a chiral phosphoric acid catalyst, the reagent can be employed for the enantioselective allyl transfer reaction to a variety of one-pot transformations, enabling swift access to functionalized 1,n-diols. The in situ conversion of the reagent into the corresponding bis-borinic ester allows for the direct and diastereoselective two-fold allyl transfer to aldehydes. This affords C2 - or Ci -symmetric stereotetrads containing a 1,4-diol moiety for natural product synthesis. The usefulness of our method was demonstrated with a short synthesis of the lignan (±)-neo-olivil.

Abstract
An optimized protecting group for allylboronates allowed the use of ketones in order to synthesize all isomers of quaternary homoallylic alcohols with high enantioselectivities. All symmetric isomers of the allylboronate were prepared in high yields and diastereoselectivities using Sn 2' reactions. The improved reactivity of the novel protecting group was verified by following the reaction kinetics with 1 H NMR spectroscopy. Mechanistic studies using DFT calculations were conducted to investigate the new findings. Thus, the stereochemical outcome and enhanced reactivity can be rationalized.

Abstract
(E)-δ-Boryl-substituted anti-homoallylic alcohols are synthesized in a highly diastereo- and enantioselective manner from 1,1-di(boryl)alk-3-enes and aldehydes. Mechanistically, the reaction consists of 1) palladium-catalyzed double-bond transposition of the 1,1-di(boryl)alk-3-enes to 1,1-di(boryl)alk-2-enes, 2) chiral phosphoric acid catalyzed allylation of aldehydes, and 3) palladium-catalyzed geometrical isomerization from the Z to E isomer. As a result, the configurations of two chiral centers and one double bond are all controlled with high selectivity in a single reaction vessel.

Abstract
Chiral biphenols catalyze the asymmetric Petasis borono-Mannich allylation of aldehydes and amines through the use of a bench-stable allyldioxaborolane. The reaction proceeds via a two-step, one-pot process and requires 2-8 mole % of 3,3'-Ph2 -BINOL as the optimal catalyst. Under microwave heating the reaction affords chiral homoallylic amines in excellent yields (up to 99 %) and high enantioselectivies (er up to 99:1). The catalytic reaction is a true multicomponent condensation reaction whereas both the aldehyde and the amine can possess a wide range of structural and electronic properties. Use of crotyldioxaborolane in the reaction results in stereodivergent products with anti- and syn-diastereomers both in good diastereoselectivities and enantioselectivities from the corresponding E- and Z-borolane stereoisomers.

Abstract
The catalytic asymmetric allylboration of cyclic imines with γ,γ‐disubstituted allylboronic acids provides products with adjacent stereocenters in high yield and stereoselectivity. Various electrophiles, including 3,4‐dihydroisoquinolines and indoles, were prenylated in a fully stereodivergent fashion by switching the E/Z geometry of the allylboronate and/or the enantiomer of the BINOL catalyst. 3‐Methylindole provided products with three adjacent stereocenters with high stereoselectivity in one synthetic operation.

Abstract
A highly enantio- and diastereoselective copper-catalyzed three-component coupling affords the first general synthesis of homoallylic amines bearing adjacent stereocenters from achiral starting materials. The method utilizes a commercially available NHC ligand and copper source, operates at ambient temperature, couples readily available simple imines, allenes, and diboranes, and yields high-value homoallylic amines that exhibit versatile amino, alkenyl, and boryl units.
