Abstract
Radicals of the lightest group 13 element, boron, are well established and observed in numerous forms. In contrast to boron, radical chemistry involving the heavier group 13 elements (aluminum, gallium, indium, and thallium) remains largely underexplored, primarily attributed to the formidable synthetic challenges associated with these elements. Herein, we report the synthesis and isolation of planar and twisted conformers of a doubly CAAC (cyclic alkyl(amino)carbene)-radical-substituted dialane. Extensive characterization through spectroscopic analyses and X-ray crystallography confirms their identity, while quantum chemical calculations support their open-shell nature and provide further insights into their electronic structures. The dialane-connected diradicals exhibit high susceptibility to oxidation, as evidenced by electrochemical measurements and reactions with o-chloranil and a variety of organic azides. This study opens a previously uncharted class of dialuminum systems to study, broadening the scope of diradical chemistry and its potential applications.

Abstract
Electrophilic AlIII species have long dominated the aluminum reactivity towards arenes. Recently, nucleophilic low-valent AlI aluminyl anions have showcased oxidative additions towards arenes C-C and/or C-H bonds. Herein, we communicate compelling evidence of an AlII radical addition reaction to the benzene ring. The electron reduction of a ligand stabilized precursor with KC8 in benzene furnishes a double addition to the benzene ring instead of a C-H bond activation, producing the corresponding cyclohexa-1,3(orl,4)-dienes as Birch-type reduction product. X-ray crystallographic analysis, EPR spectroscopy, and DFT results suggest this reactivity proceeds through a stable AlII radical intermediate, whose stability is a consequence of a rigid scaffold in combination with strong steric protection.

Abstract
The reaction of potassium metal with sulfurtriimide S(Nt Bu)3 (II) gives the long elusive deep blue cage radical [K3 {(Nt Bu)3 S}2 ]. (1_K) that crystallizes at -35 °C from toluene solution. The subsequent physical characterization via X-ray structure analysis, UV/Vis-, and EPR spectroscopy from solution reveals the existence of one unpaired electron delocalized within the whole cage, i.e. coupling with the six nitrogen atoms, as well as the three potassium atoms caped by the two SN3 ligands. The present X-ray structure analysis further supports previous assumptions made on the parent compound 1_Li obtained from [Li4 {(Nt Bu)3 S}2 ] (I) and finally elucidates the structural arrangement of the SN3 caps and alkali metals in such radical cage species.

Abstract
Twisted boron-based biradicals featuring unsaturated C2 R2 (R=Et, Me) bridges and stabilization by cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbenes (CAACs) were recently prepared. These species show remarkable geometrical and electronic differences with respect to their unbridged counterparts. Herein, a thorough computational investigation on the origin of their distinct electrostructural properties is performed. It is shown that steric effects are mostly responsible for the preference for twisted over planar structures. The ground-state multiplicity of the twisted structure is modulated by the σ framework of the bridge, and different R groups lead to distinct multiplicities. In line with the experimental data, a planar structure driven by delocalization effects is observed as global minimum for R=H. The synthetic elusiveness of C2 R2 -bridged systems featuring N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) was also investigated. These results could contribute to the engineering of novel main group biradicals.

Abstract
A newly developed dihydrazonopyrrole ligand and corresponding Ni complexes have been synthesized and thoroughly characterized. Electrochemical studies and chemical reactivity tests show that these complexes can reversibly store both electrons and protons, or equivalently H-atoms, via ligand-based events. The stored H-atom equivalent can be transferred to small molecules such as acetonitrile or oxygen. Furthermore, this series of complexes can adopt a variety of different coordination modes. In addition to one e- reactivity, the two e- electrophilic oxidation of phosphines is also demonstrated. Taken together, these results show that dihydrazonopyrrole complexes represent a geometrically and electronically flexible scaffold for controlling the flow of both electrons and protons.

Abstract
A series of phosphines featuring a persistent radical were synthesized in two steps by condensation of dialkyl-/diarylchlorophosphines with stable cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbenes (cAACs) followed by one-electron reduction of the corresponding cationic intermediates. Structural, spectroscopic, and computational data indicate that the spin density in these phosphines is mainly localized on the original carbene carbon from the cAAC fragment; thus, it remains in the α-position with respect to the central phosphorus atom. The potential of these α-radical phosphines to serve as spin-labeled ligands is demonstrated through the preparation of several AuI derivatives, which were also structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
