Abstract
The present work describes the reaction of triplet dioxygen with the porphyrinogenic calix[4]pyrrolato aluminates to alkylperoxido aluminates in high selectivity. Multiconfigurational quantum chemical computations disclose the mechanism for this spin‐forbidden process. Despite a negligible spin–orbit coupling constant, the intersystem crossing (ISC) is facilitated by singlet and triplet state degeneracy and spin–vibronic coupling. The formed peroxides are stable toward external substrates but undergo an unprecedented oxidative pyrrole α‐cleavage by ligand aromatization/dearomatization‐initiated O−O σ‐bond scission. A detailed comparison of the calix[4]pyrrolato aluminates with dioxygen‐related enzymology provides insights into the ISC of metal‐ or cofactor‐free enzymes. It substantiates the importance of structural constraint and element–ligand cooperativity for the functions of aerobic life.

Abstract
Oxidative addition of cyclic alkyl(amino)carbene-coordinated phosphinidenes (Me cAAC)PX to LGa affords gallium-coordinated phosphinidenes LGa(X)-P(Me cAAC) (L=HC[C(Me)N(2,6-i-Pr2 C6 H3 )]2 ; X=Cl 1, Br 2), which react with NaBArF 4 and LiAl(ORF )4 to [LGaP(Me cAAC)][An] (An=B(C6 H3 (CF3 )2 )4 3, B(C6 F5 )4 4, Al(OC(CF3 )3 )4 5). The cations in 3-5 show substantial Ga-P double bond character and represent heteronuclear analogues of allyl cations according to quantum chemical calculations. The reaction of 4 with 4-dimethylaminopyridine (dmap) to adduct 6 confirms the strong electrophilic nature of the gallium center, whereas 5 reacts with ethyl isocyanate with C-C bond formation to the γ-C atom of the β-diketiminate ligand and formation of compound 7.

Abstract
The dinickel(II) dihydride complex (1K ) of a pyrazolate-based compartmental ligand with β-diketiminato (nacnac) chelate arms (L- ), providing two pincer-type {N3 } binding pockets, has been reported to readily eliminate H2 and to serve as a masked dinickel(I) species. Discrete dinickel(I) complexes (2Na , 2K ) of L- are now synthesized via a direct reduction route. They feature two adjacent T-shaped metalloradicals that are antiferromagnetically coupled, giving an S=0 ground state. The two singly occupied local d x 2 - y 2 type magnetic orbitals are oriented into the bimetallic cleft, enabling metal-metal cooperative 2 e- substrate reductions as shown by the rapid reaction with H2 or O2 . X-ray crystallography reveals distinctly different positions of the K+ in 1K and 2K , suggesting a stabilizing interaction of K+ with the dihydride unit in 1K . H2 release from 1K is triggered by peripheral γ-C protonation at the nacnac subunits, which DFT calculations show lowers the barrier for reductive H2 elimination from the bimetallic cleft.
