Abstract
In metal nanoclusters (NCs), the kernel geometry and the nature of the surface protecting ligands are very crucial for their structural stability and properties. The synthesis and structural elucidation of Ag NCs is challenging because the zerovalent oxidation state of Ag is very reactive and prone to oxidization. Here, we report the NC [Ag50S13(StBu)20][CF3COO]4 with a hexagonal close-packed (hcp) cagelike Ag14 kernel. A truncated cubic shell and an octahedral shell encapsulate the hcp-layered kernel via an interstitial S2- anionic shell to form an Ag36 Keplerian outer shell of the NC. A theoretical study indicates the stability of this NC in its 4+ charge state and the charge distribution between the kernel and Keplerian shell. The unprecedented electronic structure facilitates its application toward sustainable photoresponse properties. The new insights into this novel Ag NC kernel and Keplerian shell structure may pave the way to understanding the unique structure and developing electronic structure-based applications.

Abstract
High-nuclearity clusters resemble the closest model between the determination of atomically precise chemical species and the bulk metallic version thereof, and both impacts on a variety of applications, including catalysis, optics, sensors, and new energy sources. Our interest lies with the nanoclusters of the Group 11 (Cu, Ag, Au) metals stabilized by dichalcogenido and hydrido ligands. Herein, we describe superatoms formed by the clusters and their relationship with precursor hydrido clusters. Specifically, our concept seeks to demonstrate a possible correlation that exist between hydrido clusters (and nanoalloys) and the formation of superatoms, with the loss of hydrides and typically with release of H 2 gas. These reactions appear to be internal self-redox reactions and require no additional reducing agent, but does seem to require a similar core structure. Knowledge of such processes could provide insight into how clusters grow and an understanding in bridging the atomically precise cluster - metal nanoparticle mechanism.

Abstract
Face-centered-cubic (FCC) silver nanoclusters (NCs) adopting either cubic or half-cubic growth modes have been recently reported, but the origin of these atomic assembly patterns and how they are achieved, which would inform our understanding of larger FCC silver nanomaterials, are both unknown. In this study, the cubic and half-cubic growth modes have been unified based on common structural characteristics, and differentiated depending on the starting blocks (cubic vs. half cubic). In both categories, the silver atoms adopt octahedral Ag6 , linear AgS2 (in projection drawing), or tetrahedral AgS3 P binding modes, and the sulfur atoms adopt T-shaped SAg3 and orthogonal SAg4 modes. An additional T-shaped AgS3 mode is oriented on the surface edge in cubic NCs to complete the cubic framework. Density functional theory calculations indicated that the high structural regularity originates from the strong diffusing capacity of the Ag(5d) and S(3p) orbitals, and the angular momentum distribution of the formed superatomic orbitals. The equatorial orientation of μ4 -S or μ4 -Ag determines whether growth stops or continues. In particular, a density-of-states analysis indicated that the octahedral silver atoms are chemically more reactive than the silver atoms in the AgS3 P motif, regardless of whether the parent NC functions as an electron donor or acceptor.

Abstract
An assembly strategy for metal nanoclusters using electrostatic interactions with weak interactions, such as C-H⋅⋅⋅π and π⋅⋅⋅π interactions in which cationic [Ag26 Au(2-EBT)18 (PPh3 )6 ]+ and anionic [Ag24 Au(2-EBT)18 ]- nanoclusters gather and assemble in an unusual alternating array stacking structure is presented. [Ag26 Au(2-EBT)18 (PPh3 )6 ]+ [Ag24 Au(2-EBT)18 ]- is a new compound type, a double nanocluster ion compound (DNIC). A single nanocluster ion compound (SNIC) [PPh4 ]+ [Ag24 Au(2-EBT)18 ]- was also synthesized, having a k-vector-differential crystallographic arrangement. [PPh4 ]+ [Ag24 Au(2,4-DMBT)18 ]- adopts a different assembly mode from both [Ag26 Au(2-EBT)18 (PPh3 )6 ]+ [Ag24 Au(2-EBT)18 ]- and [PPh4 ]+ [Ag24 Au(2-EBT)18 ]- . Thus, the striking packing differences of [Ag26 Au(2-EBT)18 (PPh3 )6 ]+ [Ag24 Au(2-EBT)18 ]- , [PPh4 ]+ [Ag24 Au(2-EBT)18 ]- and the existing [PPh4 ]+ [Ag24 Au(2,4-DMBT)18 ]- from each other indicate the notable influence of ligands and counterions on the self-assembly of nanoclusters.
