Abstract
Organic deep-red (DR) and near-infrared (NIR) emitters with high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) are rare due to the strong non-radiative (knr) decay. Here, we report two DR/NIR emitters with high PLQY, TPANZPyPI and TPANZ3PI. Interestingly, the TPANZPyPI film exhibits 46.5% PLQY at 699 nm. Theoretical calculations indicate that TPANZPyPI can achieve this high PLQY in the near-infrared emission region due to its small S1 to S0 internal conversion (IC) rate. Meanwhile, research has found that, compared to TPANZ3PI, TPANZPyPI with a more rigid structure can effectively suppress the T2 to T1 IC process, which is conducive to higher exciton utilization efficiency (EUE). TPANZPyPI's non-doped OLED shows NIR emission with 4.6% @ 684 nm maximum external quantum efficiency (EQEmax). Its doped OLEDs radiate DR with an EQEmax of 6.9% @ 666 nm. These EQEs are among the highest values for hybridized local charge transfer state materials emitting more than 640 nm. This work demonstrates for the first time, based on a combination of theory and experiment, that increasing the molecular rigidity can inhibit the excited state IC process in addition to the S1 to S0 IC, realizing efficient electroluminescence.

Abstract
Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) radiating near ultraviolet (NUV) light are of high importance but rarely reported due to the lack of robust organic short-wavelength emitters. Here, we report a short π-conjugated molecule (POPCN-2CP) with high thermal and morphological stabilities and strong NUV photoluminescence. Its neat film exhibits an electroluminescence (EL) peak at 404 nm with a maximum external quantum efficiency (ηext, max ) of 7.5 % and small efficiency roll-off. The doped films of POPCN-2CP in both non-polar and polar hosts at a wide doping concentration range (10-80 wt%) achieve high-purity NUV light (388-404 nm) and excellent ηext, max s of up to 8.2 %. The high-level reverse intersystem crossing improves exciton utilization and accounts for the superb ηext, max s. POPCN-2CP can also serve as an efficient host for blue fluorescence, thermally activated delayed fluorescence and phosphorescence emitters, providing excellent EL performance via Förster energy transfer.

Abstract
Efficient organic emitters in the deep-red region are rare due to the "energy gap law". Herein, multiple boron (B)- and nitrogen (N)-atoms embedded polycyclic heteroaromatics featuring hybridized π-bonding/ non-bonding molecular orbitals are constructed, providing a way to overcome the above luminescent boundary. The introduction of B-phenyl-B and N-phenyl-N structures enhances the electronic coupling of those para-positioned atoms, forming restricted π-bonds on the phenyl-core for delocalized excited states and thus a narrow energy gap. The mutually ortho-positioned B- and N-atoms also induce a multi-resonance effect on the peripheral skeleton for the non-bonding orbitals, creating shallow potential energy surfaces to eliminate the high-frequency vibrational quenching. The corresponding deep-red emitters with peaks at 662 and 692 nm exhibit narrow full-width at half-maximums of 38 nm, high radiative decay rates of ca. 108 s-1 , ≈100 % photo-luminescence quantum yields and record-high maximum external quantum efficiencies of ca. 28 % in a normal planar organic light-emitting diode structure, simultaneously.

Abstract
Three thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) molecules, namely PQ1, PQ2, and PQ3, are composed of electron-accepting (A) tetrabenzo[a,c]phenazine (TBPZ) and electron-donating (D) phenoxazine (PXZ) units are designed and characterized. The combined effects of planar acceptor manipulation and high steric hindrance between D and A units endow high molecular rigidity that suppresses nonradiative decay of the excitons with improved photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs). Particularly, the well-aligned excited states involving a singlet and a triplet charge-transfer excited states and a localized excited triplet state in PQ3 enhances the reverse intersystem crossing rate constant (kRISC ) with a short delay lifetime (τd ). The orange-red OLED based on PQ3 displays a maximum external EL quantum efficiency (EQE) of 27.4 % with a well-suppressed EL efficiency roll-off owing to a completely horizontal orientation of the transition dipole moment in the film state.

Abstract
Herein, we report a deep-red TADF emitter pCNQ-TPA, composed of quinoxaline-5,8-dicarbonitrile (pCNQ) acceptor and triphenylamine (TPA) donor. pCNQ-TPA supported its OLED with desired CIE coordinates of (0.69, 0.31) and the record maximum external quantum efficiency of 30.3 %, which is the best red TADF diode with Rec.2020 gamut for UHDTV. It is showed that through tuning pCNQ-TPA doping concentration, intra- and inter-molecular charge transfer are balanced to synchronously improve emission color saturation and TADF radiation, and remedy aggregation-induced quenching, rendering photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) reaching 90 % for deep-red emission peaked at ≈690 nm. Quasi-planar structure further endows pCNQ-TPA with an improved horizontal ratio of emitting dipole orientation, which increases light out-coupling ratio to 0.34 for achieving the state-of-the-art device efficiencies.

Abstract
Triphenylphosphine (TPP)-based luminescent compounds are rarely investigated because of the low photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY). Here, we demonstrate that introducing steric hindrance groups to the TPP moiety and separating the orbitals involved in the transition can drastically suppress the non-radiative decay induced by structural distortion of TPP in the excited state. High PLQY up to 0.89 as well as thermally activated delayed fluorescence are observed from the intramolecular charge-transfer (ICT) molecules with substituted TPP donors (sTPPs) in doped films. The red organic light-emitting diodes employing these emitters achieve comparable external quantum efficiencies to the control device containing a classical phosphorescent dye, revealing the great potential of the ICT emitters based on electrochemically stable sTPPs.

Abstract
Near-IR organic light-emitting diodes (NIR-OLEDs) are potential light-sources for various sensing applications as OLEDs have unique features such as ultra-flexibility and low-cost fabrication. However, the low external electroluminescence (EL) quantum efficiency (EQE) of NIR-OLEDs is a critical obstacle for potential applications. Here, we demonstrate a highly efficient NIR emitter with thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) and its application to NIR-OLEDs. The NIR-TADF emitter, TPA-PZTCN, has a high photoluminescence quantum yield of over 40 % with a peak wavelength at 729 nm even in a highly doped co-deposited film. The EL peak wavelength of the NIR-OLED is 734 nm with an EQE of 13.4 %, unprecedented among rare-metal-free NIR-OLEDs in this spectral range. TPA-PZTCN can sensitize a deeper NIR fluorophore to achieve a peak wavelength of approximately 900 nm, resulting in an EQE of over 1 % in a TADF-sensitized NIR-OLED with high operational device durability (LT95 >600 h.).
