Abstract
Geminal and vicinal borosilanes have unique applications in functional materials and synthetic transformations. Herein, a convenient method for the synthesis of geminal and vicinal borosilanes is developed via photoredox metal-free hydrosilylation of vinylboronic esters. This strategy features the advantages of high atom economy, environmental friendliness, and excellent functional group compatibility. The mechanism studies reveal that the catalytic reaction goes through photoredox HAT catalysis and a radical addition pathway.

We report an efficient
method for the preparation of synthetically
valuable trisubstituted alkenylboronate esters through alkene
isomerization of their readily available 1,1-disubstituted regioisomeric
counterparts. Either stereoisomer of the target alkenylboronate
motif can be obtained at will from the same starting material by employing
different isomerization catalysts.

Abstract
An efficient geometrical E→Z isomerisation of alkenyl silanes is disclosed via selective energy transfer using an inexpensive organic sensitiser. Characterised by operational simplicity, short reaction times (2 h), and broad substrate tolerance, the reaction displays high selectivity for trisubstituted systems (Z/E up to 95:5). In contrast to thermal activation, directionality results from deconjugation of the π-system in the Z-isomer due to A1,3 -strain thereby inhibiting re-activation. The structural importance of the β-substituent logically prompted an investigation of mixed bis-nucleophiles (Si, Sn, B). These versatile linchpins also undergo facile isomerisation, thereby enabling a formal anti-metallometallation. Mechanistic interrogation, supported by a theoretical investigation, is disclosed together with application of the products to the stereospecific synthesis of biologically relevant target structures.

Abstract
The stereoselective synthesis of anti isomers of γ-boryl-substituted homoallylic alcohols is disclosed. (E)-1,2-Di(boryl)alk-1-enes undergo Ru-catalyzed double-bond transposition with control of the geometry. The in situ generated (E)-1,2-di(boryl)alk-2-enes add to aldehydes in a stereospecific manner. The alkenylboron group within the product is amenable to a variety of synthetic derivatizations.

Abstract
A cationic ruthenium(II) complex catalyzes double-bond transposition of 1,1-di(boryl)alk-3-enes to generate in situ 1,1-di(boryl)alk-2-enes, which then undergo chiral phosphoric acid catalyzed allylation of aldehydes producing homoallylic alcohols with a (Z)-vinylboronate moiety. 1,2-Anti stereochemistry is installed in an enantioselective manner. The (Z)-geometry forged in the products allows their isolation in a form of 1,2-oxaborinan-3-enes, upon which further synthetic transformations are operated.

Abstract
(E)-δ-Boryl-substituted anti-homoallylic alcohols are synthesized in a highly diastereo- and enantioselective manner from 1,1-di(boryl)alk-3-enes and aldehydes. Mechanistically, the reaction consists of 1) palladium-catalyzed double-bond transposition of the 1,1-di(boryl)alk-3-enes to 1,1-di(boryl)alk-2-enes, 2) chiral phosphoric acid catalyzed allylation of aldehydes, and 3) palladium-catalyzed geometrical isomerization from the Z to E isomer. As a result, the configurations of two chiral centers and one double bond are all controlled with high selectivity in a single reaction vessel.

Abstract
Enamides represent bioactive pharmacophores in various natural products, and have become increasingly common reagents for asymmetric incorporation of nitrogen functionality. Yet the synthesis of the requisite geometrically defined enamides remains problematic, especially for highly substituted and Z-enamides. Herein we wish to report a general atom economic method for the isomerization of a broad range of N-allyl amides to form Z-di-, tri-, and tetrasubstituted enamides with exceptional geometric selectivity. This report represents the first examples of a catalytic isomerization of N-allyl amides to form nonpropenyl disubstituted, tri- and tetrasubstituted enamides with excellent geometric control. Applications of these geometrically defined enamides toward the synthesis of cis vicinal amino alcohols and tetrasubstituted α-borylamido complexes are discussed.

Abstract
The reactions of 1-silyl-3-boryl-2-alkenes with various electrophilic reagents (Selectfluor, N-halosuccinimides, benzhydryl, and propargylic alcohols in the presence of a Lewis acid, N-alkoxycarbonyliminium ion) have been investigated as new routes to α-substituted allylboronates. Further functional transformations, including allylboration, Suzuki coupling, protodeboronation, and cycloisomerization, have been carried out to illustrate the synthetic potential of these γ-borylallylsilanes.
