Abstract
A binary Ni/Eu catalytic system has been developed, which enables an efficient reductive dicarbofunctionalization of unactivated alkenes with alkyl halides and malononitriles. The combination of Ni electron-shuttle catalysis with Eu(OTf)3, a non-redox-type Lewis acid, effectively activates the iminyl radicals, enabling the direct formation of the C(sp3)-C(sp3) bond and β-ketonitrile functionality across a variety of C═C double bonds. This reaction allows for the expedient synthesis of densely functionalized cyclic β-ketonitriles bearing all-carbon quaternary centers.

Abstract
AbstractA synthesis of amidine derivatives through intermolecular addition of nitrogen-centered radicals to nitriles is reported. Experimental studies and density functional theory calculations were conducted to probe the mechanism of this reaction. The results suggest that the alkyl nitriles are activated by attracting chlorine atoms and are subsequently attacked by nitrogen-centered radicals, resulting in the intermolecular radical addition of nitriles to amidines.

Abstract
An efficient strategy for facilitating the cross-coupling of two radicals has been established via the coordination of a radical with a metal catalyst. This strategy provides a remarkable ability to harness the reactivity of nitrile-containing azoalkanes and enables a novel cascade reaction with nitrile-containing azoalkanes and propargylic alcohols to be established. By using this reaction, a range of acetylenic and allenic amides were obtained that provides a versatile platform for further derivatizations.

Abstract
The metal-free-catalyzed synthesis of allyl nitriles from Csp2-Csp3 coupling between olefins and azobis was carried out. Key on this work was that the synthesis of allyl nitriles directly using olefin as a starting material was considered to be more efficient and economical than the alkyne, alkynyl carboxylic acid, or cinnamic acid used in previous works. Moreover, in this reaction, iodine served as the sole promoter, azobis served as a cyanation reagent, and N2 was the only nontoxic byproduct that could avoid the utilization of metal catalysts and virulent nitrile reagents and generation of toxic wastes. With an optimum condition in hand, more than 30 examples of desired products including aromatic and aliphatic nitriles have been synthesized in good to excellent yields. Based on control experiments and literature data, a plausible mechanism of cyanation was proposed.

Abstract
A novel convergent radical cyclization of an aldehyde with two alkenes has been developed. With this method, polyfunctionalized 3,4-dihydropyrans are built in an efficient and selective manner. The iron-catalyzed redox radical recombinations are proposed for the formation of a 3,4-dihydropyran skeleton.
