Abstract
Direct assembly of complex fluorinated motifs from simple fluorine sources is an attractive frontier of synthetic chemistry. Reported herein is an unconventional protocol for achieving tetrafluoroisopropylation by using commercially available CF2HSO2Na as a convenient source of the tetrafluoroisopropyl [(CF2H)2CH] group, which finds widespread applications in life science and material science. Visible-light-induced hydrotetrafluoroisopropylation of alkenes and carbotetrafluoroisopropylation of alkynes have been thus developed. Various structurally diverse α-tetrafluoroisopropyl carbonyls and cyclopentanones are selectively constructed under mild conditions. A photocatalytic triple difluoromethylation cascade, driven by consecutive reductive radical/polar crossover processes, leads to the direct assembly of a tetrafluoroisopropyl moiety from CF2HSO2Na. This C1-to-C3 fluoroalkylation protocol provides a practical strategy for the rapid construction of polyfluorinated compounds that are otherwise difficult to access, thus significantly enhancing the boundary of fluoroalkylation chemistry.

Abstract
A visible-light-driven desaturative β-alkoxyoxalyation of N-aryl cyclic amines with difluoromethyl bromides and H2O has been reported. This tandem reaction is triggered by homolysis of the C-Br bond to produce the difuoroalkyl radical, which undergoes the subsequent defluorinated β-alkoxyoxalylation cascades to afford a wide range of β-ketoester/ketoamides substituted enamines. The prominent feature of this reaction contains photocatalyst-free, transition-metal free, and mild conditions. The 18O labeling experiment disclosed that H2O is the oxygen source of the carbonyl unit.

Abstract
Radical transformations are powerful in organic synthesis for the construction of molecular scaffolds and introduction of functional groups. In radical difunctionalization reactions, the radicals in the first functionalized intermediates can be relocated through resonance, hydrogen atom or group transfer, and ring opening. The resulting radical intermediates can undertake the following paths for the second functionalization: (1) couple with other radical groups, (2) oxidize to cations and then react with nucleophiles, (3) reduce to anions and then react with electrophiles, (4) couple with metal-complexes. The rearrangements of radicals provide the opportunity for the synthesis of 1,3-, 1,4-, 1,5-, 1,6-, and 1,7-difunctionalization products. Multiple ways to initiate the radical reaction coupling with intermediate radical rearrangements make the radical reactions good for difunctionalization at the remote positions. These reactions offer the advantages of synthetic efficiency, operation simplicity, and product diversity.

Abstract
A copper-catalyzed alkene-trifluoromethylation-triggered nitrile insertion/remote functionalization relay process has been achieved, in which "interrupted" remote 1,n-difunctionalizations of alkenes with nitrile insertion can deliver iminyl radical intermediates instead of C-based radicals, followed by subsequent 1,n-HAT to furnish corresponding remote functionalization. This relay protocol enables a straightforward approach to streamline the assembly of structurally diverse trifluoromethylated azaheterocycles.

The procedure provides an efficient and practical method to synthesize diverse pyridines in moderate to good yields. The reaction underwent a radical-initiated kinetically controlled ring-opening of vinylaziridines and involved a key α,β-unsaturated imine intermediate, followed by an E2 elimination, a 6π electrocyclization, and defluorinated aromatization.

Abstract
Difluoroisoxazolacetophenone (DFIO) is developed as a new difluoroalkylation reagent that can be easily prepared from inexpensive starting materials. In situ remote C-C bond cleavage of DFIO affords γ,γ-difluoroisoxazole nitronate that undergoes base-catalyzed vinylogous nitroaldol additions to isatins, benzothiophene-2,3-dione, unsaturated-α-ketoesters, and cyclic 1,2-diketones. This organocatalytic debenzoate vinylogous nitroaldol reaction provides a new and mild approach for the preparation of various difluoroisoxazole-substituted 3-hydroxy-2-oxindoles.

Markovnikov-Type Hydrotrifluoromethylchalcogenation of Unactivated Terminal Alkenes with [Me 4N][XCF 3] (X = S, Se) and TfOH. Molecules 2020; 25:molecules25194535. Abstract
The first Markovnikov-type hydrotrifluoromethylselenolation of unactivated terminal alkenes with the readily accessible [Me4N][SeCF3] reagent and the superacid TfOH is reported. The reaction proceeded at room temperature under catalyst- and additive-free conditions to give the branched trifluoromethylselenolated products in good yields. This protocol is also applicable to the Markovnikov-type hydrotrifluoromethylthiolation of unactivated terminal alkenes using [Me4N][SCF3]/TfOH, but not to the hydrotrifluoromethoxylation with CsOCF3/TfOH under the same conditions. The successful hydrotrifluoromethylselenolation and hydrotrifluoromethylthiolation showed simplicity and high regioselectivity, taming the sensitive −XCF3 (X = Se, S) anions with TfOH, and offered a convenient method for the straightforward synthesis of branched trifluoromethyl selenoethers and thioethers from unactivated alkenes.

Abstract
Remote difunctionalization of unactivated alkenes is challenging but a highly attractive tactic to install two functional groups across long distances. Reported herein is the first remote difunctionalization of alkenes with CO2 . This visible-light photoredox catalysis strategy provides a facile method to synthesize a series of carboxylic acids bearing valuable fluorine- or phosphorus-containing functional groups. Moreover, this versatile protocol shows mild reaction conditions, broad substrate scope, and good functional-group tolerance. Based on DFT calculations, a radical adds to an unactivated alkene to smoothly form a new carbon radical, followed by a 1,5-hydrogen atom-transfer process, the rate-limiting step, generating a more stable benzylic radical. The reduction of the benzylic radicals by an IrII species generates the corresponding benzylic carbanions as the key intermediates, which further undergo nucleophilic attack with CO2 to generate carboxylates.

Abstract
Visible light-mediated cascade remote oxyfluoroalkylation of alkenes under mild conditions is developed for the first time. The key point of this transformation is the incorporation of alkene fluoroalkylation-initiated remote benzyl C-H bond activation via a 1,5-H shift in a highly controlled site-selective manner and Kornblum reaction with dimethyl sulfoxide as the oxidant. With this method, a broad array of fluoroalkyl groups were introduced into a double bond to produce 1,6-fluoroalkylated ketones at room temperature.

Abstract
A novel Fe-catalyzed olefin hydroamination with aryldiazo sulfones for accessing alkylarylazo compounds has been successfully developed. Aryldiazo sulfones are used as radical acceptors, and N-N double bonds will be regenerated when an arene sulfonyl group leaves. The reaction features mild reaction conditions and a broad substrate scope, allowing access to many azo compounds that would be difficult or perhaps impossible to access using other methods.

Abstract
The first catalyst for the alkoxycarbonylation of gem-difluoroalkenes is described. This novel catalytic transformation proceeds in the presence of Pd(acac)2 /1,2-bis((di-tert-butylphosphan-yl)methyl)benzene (btbpx) (L4) and allows for an efficient and straightforward access to a range of difluoromethylated esters in high yields and regioselectivities. The synthetic utility of the protocol is showcased in the practical synthesis of a Cyclandelate analogue using this methodology as the key step.
