Abstract
The selective formation of antimony-carbon bonds via organic superbase catalysis under metal- and salt-free conditions is reported. This novel approach utilizes electron-deficient stibine, Sb(C6F5)3, to give upon base-catalyzed reactions with weakly acidic aromatic and heteroaromatic hydrocarbons access to a range of new aromatic and heteroaromatic stibines, respectively, with loss of C6HF5. Also, the significantly less electron-deficient stibines, Ph2SbC6F5 and PhSb(C6F5)2 smoothly underwent base-catalyzed exchange reactions with a range of terminal alkynes to generate the stibines of formulae PhSb(C≡CPh)2, and Ph2SbC≡CR [R=C6H5, C6H4-NO2, COOEt, CH2Cl, CH2NEt2, CH2OSiMe3, Sb(C6H5)2], respectively. These formal substitution reactions proceed with high selectivity as only the C6F5 groups serve as a leaving group to be liberated as C6HF5 upon formal proton transfer from the alkyne. Kinetic studies of the base-catalyzed reaction of Ph2SbC6F5 with phenyl acetylene to form Ph2SbC≡CPh and C6HF5 suggested the empirical rate law to exhibit a first-order dependence with respect to the base catalyst, alkyne and stibine. DFT calculations support a pathway proceeding via a concerted σ-bond metathesis transition state, where the base catalyst activates the Sb-C6F5 bond sequence through secondary bond interactions.

Abstract
The combined molecular dynamics and coordinate driving (MD/CD) method is updated and generalized in this work to broaden its applications in automatically searching reaction pathways for complicated reactions. In this updated version, MD simulations are performed with the GFN's family of methods to systematically sample conformers for almost any systems with atomic numbers Z ≤ 86. The improved CD procedure is greatly accelerated by applying a pre-screening stage at the semiempirical GFN2-xTB level. An automatic module based on the Marcus theory and its improved version (the Wolynes theory) is designed to include single electron transfer (SET) processes into reaction pathways. The capabilities of this method are demonstrated by exploring the most possible reaction pathways of three experimentally reported reactions: the organophosphine-catalyzed trans phosphinoboration, the Fe(II) complex-mediated C(sp2)-H borylation reaction, and the SET-triggered deaminative radical cross-coupling reaction. Comprehensive reaction networks are obtained for all three reactions with reasonable computational costs. Detailed mechanisms for these reactions can account for the reported experimental facts.

Abstract
We report a tri-n-butyl phosphine catalyzed regio- and stereo-selective hydroboration of ynamides to yield (Z)-β-borylenamides in good yields. Surprisingly, a formal cis addition to the triple bond was observed as confirmed by NMR and X-ray crystallography. 31P NMR studies suggest that a zwitterionic vinylphosphonium intermediate is key in the mechanism. The resulting products were further transformed to β-CF3 enamides via stereoretentive trifluoromethylation.

Abstract
An efficient and practical phosphine-catalyzed homo-coupling reaction of benzyl chlorides is described. The reactions proceed smoothly in the presence of CsF/B(OMe)3 and NaH as the base, respectively, to provide trans-stilbenes in good yields with a broad scope. Unsymmetrical stilbenes are also generated from the reactions of benzyl chlorides with phosphonium salts. Several P-based key intermediates have been detected by NMR and HRMS analyses, which shed light on the postulated catalytic cycle. In the presence of different bases, the transformations involve two different pathways, in which phenylcarbene and phosphonium alkoxide are considered as key intermediates, respectively. The two pathways are complementary in synthesis but different in mechanisms. The synthetic utility, including gram-scale reactions and straightforward access to π-conjugated molecules, has been demonstrated as well.

Abstract
We report an organocatalytic trans hydroboration of 3-substituted-propiolonitriles. In the presence of catalytic amounts of tributylphosphine and pinacolborane, regioselective hydroboration of the internal triple bond proceeded in a stereoselective fashion under mild conditions to afford the corresponding (E)-1,2-vinylcyanoborane derivatives. The mechanism is proposed to occur through a 1,2-phosphine addition instead of a canonical 1,4-conjugate addition pathway.

Abstract
Catalyst‐free 1,2‐carboboration of ynamides is presented. Readily available aryldichloroboranes react with alkyl‐ or aryl‐substituted ynamides in high yields with complete regio‐ and stereoselectivity to valuable β‐boryl‐β‐alkyl/aryl α‐aryl substituted enamides which belong to the class of trisubstituted alkenylboronates. The 1,2‐carboboration reaction is experimentally easy to conduct, shows high functional group tolerance and broad substrate scope. Gram‐scale reactions and diverse synthetic transformations convincingly demonstrate the synthetic potential of this method. The reaction can also be used to access 1‐boraphenalenes, a class of boron‐doped polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.

Abstract
An unprecedented and general hydroboration of alkenes with BX3 (X=Br, Cl) as the boration reagent in the presence of i Pr2 NEt is reported. The addition of i Pr2 NEt not only suppresses alkene polymerization and haloboration side reactions but also provides an "H" source for hydroboration. More importantly, the site-fixed installation of a boryl group at the original position of the internal double bond is readily achieved in contrast to conventional transition-metal-catalyzed hydroboration processes. Further application to the synthesis of 1,n-diborylalkanes (n=3-10) is also demonstrated. Preliminary mechanistic studies reveal a major reaction pathway that involves radical species and operates through a frustrated Lewis pair type single-electron-transfer mechanism.

Abstract
Phosphine-mediated reductions of substituted propynoic esters and amides in the presence of water yield the partially reduced α,β-unsaturated esters and amides with high Z-selectivity. The competitive in situ Z to E-isomerization of the product in some cases lowers the Z to E ratios of the isolated α,β-unsaturated carbonyl products. Reaction time and the amounts of phosphine and water in the reaction mixture are the key experimental factors which control the selectivity by preventing or reducing the rates of Z- to E-product isomerization. Close reaction monitoring enables isolation of the Z-alkenes with high selectivities. The computational results suggest that the reactions could be highly Z-selective owing to the stereoselective formation of the E-P-hydroxyphosphorane intermediate.

Abstract
The direct and chemoselective conversion of the carbon-metal bond of gem-dimetallic reagents enables rapid and sequential formation of multiple carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds, thus representing a powerful method for efficiently increasing structural complexity. Herein, we report a visible-light-induced, nickel-catalyzed, chemoselective cross-coupling reaction between gem-borazirconocene alkanes and diverse aryl halides, affording a wide range of alkyl Bpin derivatives in high yields with excellent regioselectivity. This practical method features attractively simple reaction conditions and a broad substrate scope. Additionally, we systematically investigated a Bpin-directed chain walking process underlying the regioselectivity of alkylzirconocenes, thus uncovering the mechanism of the remote functionalization of internal olefins achieved with our method. Finally, DFT calculations indicate that the high regioselectivity of this reaction originates from the directing effect of the Bpin group.

Abstract
Cu(I) catalysts enable C-B bond formation via direct insertion of vinyldiazoacetates into B-H bonds of borane-phosphine Lewis adducts to form phosphine-protected allylboranes under mild conditions. The resulting allylborane-phosphine Lewis adducts can be used in the diastereoselective allylation of aldehydes directly without the need for removal of the phosphine. The allylation reaction proceeds with high diastereoselectivity and yields 5,6-disubstituted dihydropyranones after treatment with an appropriate acid.

Abstract
Photoinduced synthetic approaches to organoboron compounds have attracted significant attention in the recent years. Photochemical activation of organic molecules enables generation of reactive intermediates from a variety of precursors, resulting in borylation methods with improved and broader substrate scopes. The review summarizes recent developments in the area of photoinduced reactions of organoboron compounds with an emphasis on borylation of haloarenes, amine derivatives, and redox-active esters of carboxylic acids, as well as photoinduced rearrangements of organoboron compounds and photoinduced synthesis of organoboron compounds from alkenes and alkynes.

Abstract
![]()
A method for transition metal-free
1,2-carboboration of unactivated
alkenes with bis(catecholato)diboron as the boron source in combination
with alkyl halides as the alkyl component is introduced. The three-component
reaction proceeds via a radical pathway on a broad range of unactivated
alkenes, and the 1,2-carboboration products serve as valuable synthetic
building blocks. Density functional theory calculations provide insights
into the mechanism.
