Abstract
Nitrogen-containing heterocycles are important scaffolds for a large number of compounds with biological, pharmaceutical, industrial and optoelectronic applications. A wide range of different methodologies for the preparation of N-heterocycles are based on metal-catalyzed cyclization of suitable substrates. Due to the growing interest in Green Chemistry criteria over the past two decades, the use of supported metal catalysts in the preparation of N-heterocycles has become a central topic in Organic Chemistry. Here we will give a critical overview of all the solid supported metal catalysts applied in the synthesis of N-heterocycles, following a systematic approach as a function of the type of support: (i) metal catalysts supported on inorganic matrices; (ii) metal catalysts supported on organic matrices; (iii) metal catalysts supported on hybrid inorganic-organic matrices. In particular, we will try to emphasize the effective heterogeneity and recyclability of the described metal catalysts, specifying which studies were carried out in order to evaluate these aspects.

Abstract
The design, preparation and characterization of a novel composite based on functionalization of halloysite nanoclay with Schiff base followed by immobilization of copper iodide as nanoparticles is revealed. This novel nano composite was fully characterized by utilization of FTIR, SEM/EDX, TGA, XRD and BET techniques. This Cu(I) NPs immobilized onto halloysite was successfully examined as a heterogeneous, thus easily recoverable and reusable catalyst in one of classist organic name reaction so-called “Click Reaction”. That comprised a three component reaction of phenylacetylene, α-haloketone or alkyl halide and sodium azide in aqueous media to furnish 1,2,3‐triazoles in short reaction time and high yields. Remarkably, the examination of the reusability of the catalyst confirmed that the catalyst could be reused at least six reaction runs without appreciable loss of its catalytic activity.

Abstract
In this study, a core-shell magnetic metal organic framework (MOF) catalyst was introduced based on Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) and copper organic frameworks. In this catalyst, Fe3O4 MNPs have been coated with MOFs in which copper was the inorganic nodes and 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid was the organic linkers. Then, the core-shell structures and catalytic efficiency have been confirmed properly and completely with various analyses such as FT-IR, TEM, SEM, TEM mapping, SEM mapping, EDX, PXRD, TGA, ICP and VSM. The Cu moieties in MOF and shell structures can catalyze the synthesis of 1,2,3-triazole derivatives with good to excellent yields in the presence of water as a green solvent. Moreover, this catalyst showed the high reusability due to the super paramagnetic properties.

Abstract
Two core-double-shell pH-sensitive nanocarriers were fabricated using Fe3O4 as magnetic core, poly(glycidyl methacrylate-PEG) and salep dialdehyde as the first and the second shell, and doxorubicin as the hydrophobic anticancer drug. Two nanocarriers were different in the drug loading steps. The interaction between the first and the second shell assumed to be pH-sensitive via acetal cross linkages. The structure of nanocarriers, organic shell loading, magnetic responsibility, morphology, size, dispersibility, and drug loading content were investigated by IR, NMR, TG, VSM, XRD, DLS, HRTEM and UV-Vis analyses. The long-term drug release profiles of both nanocarriers showed that the drug loading before cross-linking between the first and second shell led to a more pH-sensitive nanocarrier exhibiting higher control on DOX release. Cellular toxicity assay (MTT) showed that DOX-free nanocarrier is biocompatible having cell viability greater than 80% for HEK-293 and MCF-7 cell lines. Besides, high cytotoxic effect observed for drug-loaded nanocarrier on MCF-7 cancer cells. Cellular uptake analysis showed that the nanocarrier is able to transport DOX into the cytoplasm and perinuclear regions of MCF-7 cells. In vitro hemolysis and coagulation assays demonstrated high blood compatibility of nanocarrier. The results also suggested that low concentration of nanocarrier have a great potential as a contrast agent in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Abstract
Cu(NO3)2 supported on natural phosphate, Cu(ii)/NP, was prepared by co-precipitation and applied as a heterogeneous catalyst for synthesizing xanthenes (2-3 h, 85-97%) through Knoevenagel-Michael cascade reaction of aromatic aldehydes with 1,3-cyclic diketones in ethanol under refluxing conditions. It was further used for regioselective synthesis of 1,4-disubstituted-1,2,3-triazoles (1-25 min, 95-99%) via a three-component reaction between organic halides, aromatic alkynes and sodium azide in methanol at room temperature. The proposed catalyst, Cu(ii)/NP, was characterized using X-ray fluorescence, X-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller, Barrett-Joyner-Halenda and inductively coupled plasma analyses. Compared to other reports in literature, the reactions took place through a simple co-precipitation, having short reaction time (<3 hours), high reaction yield (>85%), and high recyclability of catalyst (>5 times) without significant decrease in the inherent property and selectivity of catalyst. The proposed protocols provided significant economic and environmental advantages.

Abstract
This work discloses the first ever magnetically retrievable copper isophthalate-based metal-organic framework (MOF) decorated with surface-modified cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4) nanoparticles that have been utilized as catalytic reactors for obtaining a relatively large number of biologically active benzimidazole scaffolds. A facile one-pot solvothermal approach was employed for obtaining spherical and monodisperse CoFe2O4 nanoparticles, which were subsequently modified using suitable protecting and functionalizing agents. Finally, these functionalized magnetic nanoparticles were anchored onto the three-dimensional copper isophthalate MOF via a covalent immobilization methodology. The exploitation of advanced microscopic tools such as transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscopy provided valuable insights into the morphology of the immobilized MOF. These results indicated that the surface-modified magnetic nanoparticles had grown onto the surface of copper-5-nitroisophthalic acid MOF. A greener C-H functionalization strategy that involves the multicomponent oxidative cross-coupling between two different set of amines (sp2-hybridized nitrogen-containing anilines and sp3-hybridized nitrogen-containing alkyl/aryl amine derivatives) and sodium azide has been incorporated to provide access to a broad spectrum of the value-added target benzimidazole moieties. It is interesting to note that this magnetic MOF-catalyzed protocol not only replaces toxic solvents with water, which is a green solvent, but also enhances the economic competitiveness since the magnetic catalyst can be readily recovered and recycled for eight consecutive runs.

Abstract
How to maximize the number of desirable active sites on the surface of the catalyst and minimize the number of sites promoting undesirable side reactions is currently an important research topic. In this study, a new way based on the synergism to achieve the successful fabrication of an ordered heterobimetallic self-assembled monolayer (denoted as BMSAM) with a controlled composition and an excellent orientation of metals in the monolayer was developed. BMSAM consisting of phenanthroline and Schiff-base groups was prepared, and its novel heterobimetallic (Cu and Pd) self-assembled monolayer anchored in silicon (denoted as Si-Fmp-Cu-Pd BMSAM) with a controlled composition and a fixed position was fabricated and characterized by UV, cyclic voltammetry, Raman, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES), and water-drop contact angle (WDCA) analyses. The effects of Si-Fmp-Cu-Pd BMSAM on its catalytic properties were also systematically investigated using "click" reaction as a template by WDCA, XPS, SEM, XRD, ICP-AES and in situ Fourier transform infrared analyses in a heterogeneous system. The results showed that the excellent catalytic characteristic could be attributed to the partial (ordered or proper distance) isolation of active sites displaying high densities of specific atomic ensembles. The catalytic reaction mechanism of the click reaction interpreted that the catalytic process mainly occurred on the surface of the monolayer, internal active site (Pd) and rationalized that the Cu(I) species and Pd(0) reduced from the Cu(II) and Pd(II) catalyst were active species, which had a proper distance between two different metals. The cuprate-triazole intermediate and the palladium intermediate, whose production is the key step, should lie in a proper position between the copper and active palladium sites, with which the reaction rate of transmetalation would be improved to increase the amount of the undesired Sonogashira coupling product.
