Abstract
The enantioselective rhodium-catalyzed cyclization of 2-allenylbenzoxazoles to the corresponding vinyl-functionalized, fused heterocyclic structures is reported. The presented method offers several advantages, including the use of low catalyst loadings, commercially available catalyst precursors, and mild reaction conditions. Due to its broad scope, scalability, and valuable products, we consider this methodology to be a useful tool for the construction of benzoxazole-containing building blocks.

Abstract
AbstractVinyl triflates are valuable precursors for vinyl cations and vinyl carbenes and serve as electrophiles in transition-metal-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions. However, the scope of radical reactions involving vinyl triflates has been very limited until recently. In this short review, we summarize the recent development on two categories of radical reactions involving vinyl triflates, i.e., radical trifluoromethylations and radical non-trifluoromethylations of vinyl triflates.1 I ntroduction to Vinyl Triflates2 Earlier Work on Radical Reactions of Vinyl Triflates3 Radical Trifluoromethylations of Vinyl Triflates and Their Derivatives4 Radical Non-Trifluoromethylation of Vinyl Triflates5 Conclusions and Outlook

Abstract
The redox-neutral tetrafluoroethylation of alkynes with 1,1,2,2-tetrafluroroethanesulfonic acid (TFESA) and azobis(isobutyronitrile) (AIBN) proceeds via the formation of vinyl tetrafluoroethanesulfonates followed by a radical tetrafluoroethylation. Experimental and theoretical results support an intermolecular reaction.

Abstract
A rhodium-catalyzed regio- and enantioselective cyclization of tethered allenylbenzenes is reported. Employing a RhI/Josiphos catalytic system a diverse set of 6-membered, α-chiral benzocycles were obtained, scaffolds found in many bioactive compounds. Moreover, a gram scale reaction as well as the application of suitable transformations are demonstrated.

Abstract
1,1-Disubstituted vinyl triflates are synthesized by direct hydrotriflation of terminal alkynes employing a combination of TfOH and TMSN3 in DCM at room temperature. Interestingly, under these conditions, only terminal alkynes were selectively converted to the corresponding vinyl triflates, while internal alkynes were not reacted. A broad range of substrates were successfully converted to the corresponding 1,1-disubstituted vinyl triflates in good to excellent yields even those with internal alkyne moieties present in the molecules.

Abstract
A highly selective rhodium-catalyzed cyclization of tethered 3-allenylindoles is reported. In a smooth reaction, 1-vinyltetrahydrocarbazoles are obtained in excellent yields and enantioselectivities. Aside from a great functional group tolerance, this method requires neither the Schlenk technique nor the use of anhydrous solvents. Preliminary mechanistic investigations proved that the reaction proceeds via an intermediary formed spiroindolenine which rapidly undergoes an acid-catalyzed stereospecific migration.

Abstract
A diastereoselective and stereodivergent rhodium-catalyzed intramolecular coupling of sulfonylcarbamates with terminal allenes is described and it provides selective access to 1,3-aminoalcohol derivatives, scaffolds found in bioactive compounds. The reaction is compatible with a large range of different functional groups, thus furnishing products with high diastereoselectivities and yields. Moreover, multigram scale reactions, as well as the application of suitable product transformations were demonstrated.

Abstract
![]()
The conversion of alkynes to their
corresponding vinyl triflates
in the presence of stoichiometric TMS-triflate was greatly facilitated
by the triflate salt of several transition metal catalysts most especially
Zn(OTf)2. Products are formed in high regioselectivity
under mild conditions. Internal alkynes bearing an aryl substituent
afford vinyl triflates with a modest preference for the Z-isomer especially with larger substituents. A mechanism is put forward
to explain the unique role of silicon in this system.
