Abstract
In the present study, NiII immobilized on Fe3O4@WO3 functionalized by aminated epichlorohydrin using S-methylisothiourea (Fe3O4@WO3-E-SMTU-NiII) as a novel magnetically separable nanostructured catalyst was successfully synthesized and characterized using FT-IR, XRD, TEM, FE-SEM, EDX, EDX mapping, VSM, TGA, H2-TPR, ICP-OES and CHNS techniques. Characterization results revealed the spherical morphology and superparamagnetic behaviour of the as-synthesized catalyst with mean diameters of 19-31 nm as well as uniform distributions of the desired elements (Fe, O, W, C, N, S and Ni). The antibacterial activity of Fe3O4@WO3-E-SMTU-NiII was evaluated against a set of Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria, and the catalyst showed considerable activity against the Staphylococcus aureus strain. The aforementioned nanostructured catalyst exhibited perfect catalytic efficiency in the Heck-Mizoroki and Suzuki-Miyaura reactions under mild conditions without using toxic solvents (EtOH as a green solvent and WEB as a benign base). Desired coupled products were obtained from the reaction of different Ar-X (X = I, Br, Cl) with alkyl acrylates and arylboronic acids. A high nickel content with negligible metal leaching during the course of reactions led to the high catalytic performance and stability of Fe3O4@WO3-E-SMTU-NiII under optimized reaction conditions. The magnetically separation and ease of recovery and reusability of up to six cycles without a discernible decrease in catalytic activity or metal leaching are the most important features of the catalytic system from both industrial and environmental viewpoints.

Abstract
Colloidal Ag particles decorated with Fe3O4 islands can be electrochemically or photochemically activated as inverse catalysts for C(sp2)-H heteroarylation. The silver-iron oxide (SIO) particles are reduced into redox-active forms by cathodic charging at mild potentials or by short-term light exposure, and can be reused multiple times by magnetic cycling without further activation. A negative shift in the reduction peak is attributed to an overpotential produced by surface Fe3O4 which separates residual Ag ions or clusters from bulk silver. The catalytic efficiency of SIO is maintained even with acid degradation, which can be countered simply by adding water to the reaction medium.

Abstract
The intriguing features of surface-engineered hexagonal two-dimensional boron nitride (h-BN) nanostructures have captivated the immense interest of researchers working in the arena of materials science. Inspired by striking attributes exhibited by h-BN nanosheets as the support material, we devoted our efforts towards synthesizing a novel magnetically retrievable h-BN/Fe3O4/APTES-AMF/CuII catalytic system, which was then comprehensively characterized using various techniques including SEM, TEM, EDX, SEM-based elemental mapping, ED-XRF, AAS, XRD, FT-IR, VSM, XPS, TGA, and BET. Further, the catalytic potential of h-BN/Fe3O4/APTES-AMF/CuII nanocomposites was investigated in the one-pot multicomponent coupling reaction to gain access to a library of biologically active 2-amino-4-aryl(or heteroaryl)-7,7-dimethyl-5-oxo-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-4H-chromene-3-carbonitriles under ambient conditions. In addition, the use of green solvent, facile magnetic recoverability, and reusability of up to six successive runs made this protocol environmentally benign and economical. This work throws light on the development of covalently functionalized 2D-BN nanostructure-based copper catalysts and establishes its significance in furnishing industrially demanding products that would pave the way towards sustainable chemistry.

Abstract
In the present study, a new l-glutamic acid cross-linked chitosan supported on magnetic carboxylic acid-functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotube (Fe3O4/f-MWCNT-CS-Glu) nanocomposite was prepared through a convenient one-pot multi-component sequential strategy. Then, nickelII nanoparticles (NiII NPs) were entrapped within a matrix of the mentioned nanocomposite. Afterward, the structure of the as-prepared Fe3O4/f-MWCNT-CS-Glu/NiII nanosystem was elucidated by various techniques, including FT-IR, PXRD, SEM, TEM, SEM-based EDX and elemental mapping, ICP-OES, TGA/DTA, and VSM. In the next part of this research, the catalytic applications of the mentioned nickelII-containing magnetic nanocomposite were assessed upon green one-pot synthesis of diverse heterocyclic frameworks, including bis-coumarins (3a–n), 2-aryl(or heteroaryl)-2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones (5a–r), 9-aryl-3,3,6,6-tetramethyl-3,4,5,6,7,9-hexahydro-1H-xanthene-1,8(2H)-diones (7a–n), and 2-amino-4-aryl-7,7-dimethyl-5-oxo-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-4H-chromene-3-carbonitriles (9a–n). The good-to-excellent yields of the desired products, satisfactory reaction rates, use of water solvent or solvent-free reaction medium, acceptable turnover numbers (TONs) and turnover frequencies (TOFs), along with comfortable recoverability and satisfying reusability of the as-prepared nanocatalyst for at least eight successive runs, and also easy work-up and purification procedures are some of the advantages of the current synthetic protocols. In this research work, an Fe3O4/f-MWCNT-CS-Glu/NiII hybrid nanocomposite was synthesized, characterized, and used as a new and efficient multi-task catalytic system for the green one-pot synthesis of diverse heterocyclic frameworks.![]()

Abstract
Heterocyclic compounds are among the most prestigious and valuable chemical molecules with diverse and magnificent applications in various sciences. Due to the remarkable and numerous properties of the heterocyclic frameworks, the development of efficient and convenient synthetic methods for the preparation of such outstanding compounds is of great importance. Undoubtedly, catalysis has a conspicuous role in modern chemical synthesis and green chemistry. Therefore, when designing a chemical reaction, choosing and or preparing powerful and environmentally benign simple catalysts or complicated catalytic systems for an acceleration of the chemical reaction is a pivotal part of work for synthetic chemists. Chitosan, as a biocompatible and biodegradable pseudo-natural polysaccharide is one of the excellent choices for the preparation of suitable catalytic systems due to its unique properties. In this review paper, every effort has been made to cover all research articles in the field of one-pot synthesis of heterocyclic frameworks in the presence of chitosan-based catalytic systems, which were published roughly by the first quarter of 2020. It is hoped that this review paper can be a little help to synthetic scientists, methodologists, and catalyst designers, both on the laboratory and industrial scales.

Abstract
HYPOTHESIS It is expected that incorporation of 2, 2, 6, 6-tetra-methyl piperidine-N-oxyl radical (TEMPO) and an imidazolium bromide bearing hydrophilic triethylene glycol (TEG) groups on Fe3O4@SiO2 core-shell may not only result in a novel highly water-dispersible/magnetically separable multi-functional catalyst system for metal-free aerobic oxidation of alcohols, which operates through a synergistic relay pathway, but it could potentially provide a strong platform for simultaneous separation and recycling of all components. EXPERIMENTS The catalyst was prepared by anchoring TEMPO moieties onto a magnetic core-shell Fe3O4@SiO2 functionalized with an ionic liquid bearing TEG groups. The materials was characterized using transmission electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms, thermal gravimetric analysis, and elemental analysis. The performance of the catalyst was evaluated and quantitatively measured in the aerobic oxidation of alcohols in water. FINDINGS The catalyst exhibited excellent and stable colloidal dispersion in water and high performance in the aerobic oxidation of various types of alcohols under metal- and halogen-free reaction conditions. As hypothesized, strong synergistic effect between functionalized components was seen in the described reaction. The catalyst displayed excellent dual-adjustable-selectivity in the oxidation of primary alcohols to either the corresponding aldehydes or carboxylic acids by tuning the reaction solvent and/or reaction time and excellent recycling behavior through a "double-separation-strategy".

Abstract
In this study, we report the synthesis of a highly stable, magnetically retrievable gold and palladium nanocatalyst (AuPd@AMNPs), highly active in Suzuki cross-coupling and related homocoupling reactions. The active catalytic component in this system is palladium, which can only be stabilized in the presence of gold nanoparticles. There is no significant loss of activity even after prolonged storage exposed air and moisture. The versatile nature AuPd@AMNPs is demonstrated through the selective catalysis of the homocoupling of phenylboronic acid under low concentrations of O2 and the oxidation of phenylboronic acid to phenol under high O2 concentrations. AuPd@AMNPs also demonstrated Ullmann-type homocoupling of 4-iodotolene with excellent yields. The magnetically retrieved catalyst could be re-used up to six times in Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling with consistently high activity and with a minimal loss of the noble metal species. Through these reactions we show that the gold-stabilized AuPd@AMNPs can be used as stable and recyclable palladium reservoir for multiple palladium-catalysed reactions.

Abstract
A facile and direct method for synthesizing magnetic periodic mesoporous organosilica nanoparticles from pure organosilane precursors is described. Magnetic ethylene- and phenylene-bridged periodic mesoporous organosilica nanoparticles (PMO NPs) were prepared by nanoemulsification techniques. For fabricating magnetic ethylene- or phenylene-bridged PMO NPs, hydrophobic magnetic nanoparticles in an oil-in-water (o/w) emulsion were prepared, followed by a sol–gel condensation of the incorporated bridged organosilane precursor (1,2 bis(triethoxysilyl)ethane or 1,4 bis(triethoxysilyl)benzene), respectively. The resulting materials were characterized using high-resolution scanning electron microscopy (HR-SEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), solid-state NMR analysis, and nitrogen sorption analysis (N2-BET). The magnetic ethylene-bridged PMO NPs were successfully loaded using a ruthenium oxide catalyst by means of sonication and evaporation under mild conditions. The obtained catalytic system, termed Ru@M-Ethylene-PMO NPS, was applied in a reduction reaction of aromatic compounds. It exhibited very high catalytic behavior with easy separation from the reaction medium by applying an external magnetic field.

Abstract
AIM AND OBJECTIVE Nowadays, the design, synthesis and application of magnetically nanocomposite systems have attracted the attention of numerous scientists. The huge surface area and magnetic characteristic of nanoparticles as well as the inherent potentiality of the used metal species, makes them susceptible to have different reactivity in chemical reactions. In this context, we therefore encouraged to prepare a new design of magnetic nanocatalysts as CuFe2O4@SiO2@AAPTMS@Ni(II) and CuFe2O4@SiO2@AAPTMS@Cu(II) followed by monitoring of their catalytic activities towards reduction of nitroarenes with NaBH4. MATERIALS AND METHODS Magnetically nanoparticles of CuFe2 O4@SiO2@AAPTMS@Ni(II) and CuFe2O4@SiO2@AAPTMS@Cu(II) were prepared through a four-step procedure: i) preparation of CuFe2O4 MNPs, ii) coating of CuFe2O4 nucleus by silica-layer using tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS), iii) layering of CuFe2O4@SiO2 MNPs with [3-(2-aminoethylamino)propyl] trimethoxysilane (AAPTMS), and iv) the complexation of CuFe2O4@SiO2@AAPTMS MNPs with an aqueous solution of Ni(OAc)2·4H2O or Cu(OAc)2·H2O. RESULTS The catalytic activity of CuFe2O4@SiO2@AAPTMS@Ni(II) and the Cu(II)-analogue towards reduction of nitroarenes with NaBH4 was studied. The examinations resulted that using a molar ratio of 1:2 for ArNO2 and NaBH4 in the presence of 20 mg of nanocomposites in H2O under reflux conditions reduces various aromatic nitro compounds to arylamines in high yields. CONCLUSION The immobilization of Ni(II) and Cu(II) species on silica-layered CuFe2O4 was investigated. Magnetically nanoparticles of CuFe2O4@SiO2@AAPTMS@Ni(II) and the Cu(II)-analogue showed the perfect catalytic activity towards reduction of nitroarenes with NaBH4 in H2O. All reactions were carried out within 2- 15 min to afford aniline products in high yields.

Abstract
In this exploration, we reported the design and synthesis of a novel ionically tagged magnetic nanoparticles bearing urea linkers, namely, Fe3O4@SiO2@(CH2)3-urea-thiazole sulfonic acid chloride. The structure of the mentioned compound was fully characterized by using several techniques including Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, elemental mapping analysis, thermogravimetric analysis/differential thermal analysis, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and vibrating sample magnetometer. In the presence of the novel reusable catalyst, applied starting materials including aryl aldehydes, pyruvic acid, and 1-naphthylamine condensed to afford the desired 2-aryl-quinoline-4-carboxylic acid derivatives via an anomeric-based oxidation pathway under solvent-free conditions.

The Immobilized Copper on Nickel Ferrite: A Magnetically Superior Nanocatalyst for Chemoselective and Knoevenagel Synthesis of Bisdimedones and 1,8-Dioxo-octahydroxanthenes under Solvent-Free Conditions. Abstract
AIM AND OBJECTIVE Nowadays, bisdimedones and 1,8-dioxo-octahydroxanthenes are considered as biologically active materials. Due to this, the synthesis of the mentioned materials is the subject of more interest. Although most of the reported methods have their own merits, however, they generally require the use of expensive reagents, hazardous organic solvents, a tedious workup procedure and reduced recyclability of the applied catalyst system. Overcoming of the above mentioned drawbacks, therefore, encouraged us to investigate the capability of nanostructured NiFe2O4@Cu towards the synthesis of bisdimedones and 1,8- dioxo-octahydroxanthenes under green reaction conditions. MATERIALS AND METHODS Nanoparticles of NiFe2O4@Cu were prepared via a two-step procedure including the preparation of NiFe2O4 by solid-state grinding of Ni(OAc)2·4H2O and Fe(NO3)3·9H2O in the presence of NaOH followed by the immobilization of Cu(0) on the surface of NiFe2O4 nucleus via hydrazine hydrate reduction of Cu(NO3)2·3H2O. RESULTS After the synthesis of NiFe2O4@Cu, the catalytic activity of the Cu-nanocatalyst towards Knoevenagel reaction of aromatic aldehydes with dimedone under different reaction conditions was investigated. The examinations showed that using the molar equivalents of aromatic aldehydes (1 mmol) and dimedone (2 mmol) in the presence of 0.15 g NiFe2O4@Cu under solvent-free conditions chemoselectively afforded structurally different bisdimedone products at 60°C and 1,8-dioxo-octahydroxanthenes at 120°C. CONCLUSION In this study, magnetically, nanoparticles of NiFe2O4@Cu were prepared and then characterized using different analyses. The catalytic activity of the prepared Cu-nanocatalyst was also studied towards solvent-free Knoevenagel condensation of aromatic aldehydes with dimedone. All the reactions were carried out within 15-240 min to afford bisdimedone and 1,8-dioxo-octahydroxanthene products in high yields.
