Abstract
In this study, the key intermediate N 1, N 3-disubstituted 1,3,5-triazone of ensitrelvir fumaric acid, approved in Japan for the treatment of SARS-CoV-2 infection under the emergency regulatory approval system, was produced from S-ethylisothiourea hydrobromide and aminomethyl triazole with CDI by four-step telescoped strategy including CDI-activated, condensation, CDI-cyclization, and N 1-alkylation. The strategy with simple conditions and operations had a total yield of 53% on a gram scale. The strategy for synthesizing the key N 1, N 3-disubstituted 1,3,5-triazone intermediate of ensitrelvir might provide a new avenue for further research and development of ensitrelvir analogs.

Abstract
We report on the reaction of ethylene-terminated heteroatoms (C2X; X = N, O, and S) with CS2/CO2 using Mukaiyama reagent (2-chloro-1-methylpyridinium iodide, CMPI) as a promoter for the preparation of imidazolidin-2-one, oxazolidin-2-one, 1,3-dioxolan-2-one, 1,3-dithiolan-2-one, and their thione counterparts at ambient temperature and pressure. Spectroscopic measurements, viz., 1H/13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and ex situ attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy methods verified the reaction of CS2/CO2 with the ethylene-based substrates and subsequently the formation of cyclic products. The experimental data indicated the formation of the enol-form of imidazolidin-2-one and oxazolidin-2-one, while the keto-form was obtained for their thione correspondents. Furthermore, density functional theory calculations revealed the stability of the keto- over the enol-form for all reactions and pointed out the solvent effect in stabilizing the latter.

Abstract
A novel adsorbent, 3-phenyl-1-(2-pyridyl)thiourea (PPTU) was synthesized and its adsorption capabilities were studied for Cu(II), Cd(II), Ni(II), Pb(II) and Fe(II) cations in the waters such as tap and polluted seawaters. The kinetics, Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms were discussed related to the adsorptions. The adsorption capacities of PPTU were found 9.4; 12.6; 90.9; 57.1 and 30.4 mg g-1 and preconcentration with PPTU including the FAAS step yielded the LOQ values 0.46; 2.65; 1.12; 2.65 and 1.72 ng mL-1 for Cu(II), Cd(II), Ni(II), Pb(II) and Fe(II), respectively. The adsorbent after the elutions and washings could be reused three times in the next adsorptions. The interferences on the adsorptions arising from the major cations of the seawater and the usability of PPTU for interested metals in the seawater were discussed. The proposed method is simple with highly efficient and green preconcentration procedure for trace analysis of the target metal ions.

Abstract
This Review describes the existing synthetic approaches for the solid-phase synthesis (SPS) of differently substituted and fused pyrimidine derivatives. These synthetic strategies are classified on the basis of the different synthetic routes leading to the particular type of pyrimidine heterocycle formed. The Review discusses the application of a variety of polystyrene derived supports for the construction of pyrimidine rings. The effect of microwave heating on the solid-phase synthesis is also addressed in the review.
