Abstract
A new approach for the preparation of carbamates via the copper-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction of amines with alkoxycarbonyl radicals generated from carbazates is described. This environmentally friendly protocol takes place under mild conditions and is compatible with a wide range of amines, including aromatic/aliphatic and primary/secondary substrates.

Abstract
Utilization of carbon dioxide as a C1 synthon is highly attractive for the synthesis of valuable chemicals. However, activation of CO2 is highly challenging, owing to its thermodynamic stability and kinetic inertness. With this in mind, several strategies have been developed for the generation of carbon-heteroatom bonds. Among these, formation of C-N bonds is highly attractive, especially, when carbamates can be synthesized directly from CO2 . This Minireview focuses on transition metal-free approaches for the fixation of CO2 to generate carbamates for the production of fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Within the past decade, transition metal-free approaches have gained increasing attention, but traditional reviews have rarely focused on these approaches. Direct comparisons between such methods have been even more scarce. This Minireview seeks to address this discrepancy.

Abstract
:
The supported ionic liquids have shown immense potential for numerous applications
in catalysis and separation science. In the present review, the remarkable contribution
of supported ionic liquids has been highlighted. The main emphasis has been laid on
describing the facile separation of gas from binary gas mixtures owing to the capability of
selective transport of permeable gases across supported membranes and removal of environmentally
hazard sulfur compounds from fuels. The catalytic action of supported ionic
liquids has been discussed in other applications such as biodiesel (biofuel) synthesis by
transesterification/esterification processes, waste CO2 fixation into advantageous cyclic
carbonates, and various chemical transformations in organic green synthesis. This review
enclosed a maximum of the published data of the last ten years and also recently accomplished
work concerning applications in various research areas like separation sciences, chemical transformations
in organic green synthesis, biofuel synthesis, waste CO2 fixation, and purification of fuels by desulfurization.

Abstract
We report a comparative study on the activity of a series of fifteen binary catalysts derived from various reported aluminum-based complexes. A benchmarking of their initial rates in the coupling of various terminal and internal epoxides in the presence of three different nucleophilic additives was carried out, providing for the first time a useful comparison of activity metrics in the area of cyclic organic carbonate formation. These investigations provide a useful framework for how to realistically valorize relative reactivities and which features are important when considering the ideal operational window of each binary catalyst system.

Abstract
Synthesis of carbamates directly from amines using CO2 as the carbon source is a straightforward and sustainable approach. Herein, we describe a highly effective and chemoselective methodology for the synthesis of carbamates at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. This methodology can also be applied to protect the amino group in amino acids and peptides, and also to synthesize important pharmaceuticals.

Abstract
The challenging coupling of highly substituted terpene oxides and carbon dioxide into bio-based cyclic organic carbonates catalyzed by Al(aminotriphenolate) complexes is reported. Both acyclic as well as cyclic terpene oxides were used as coupling partners, showing distinct reactivity/selectivity behavior. Whereas cyclic terpene oxides showed excellent chemoselectivity towards the organic carbonate product, acyclic substrates exhibited poorer selectivities owing to concomitant epoxide rearrangement reactions and the formation of undesired oligo/polyether side products. Considering the challenging nature of these coupling reactions, the isolated yields of the targeted bio-carbonates are reasonable and in most cases in the range 50-60 %. The first crystal structures of tri-substituted terpene based cyclic carbonates are reported and their stereoconnectivity suggests that their formation proceeds through a double inversion pathway.
