Abstract
A direct deoxyfluorination of carboxylic acids by utilizing inorganic potassium fluoride (KF) as a safe and inexpensive fluoride source has been developed. Both aryl carboxylic acids and cinnamyl carboxylic acids could be efficiently transformed into valuable acyl fluorides in moderate to high yields with good functional group tolerance. A scale-up reaction could be carried out smoothly under solvent-free conditions, which further demonstrated the practicality of this reaction in organic synthesis.

Abstract
The greenhouse gas SF5CF3 was photochemically activated with SIMes (1,3-Bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)-4,5-dihydroimidazol-2-ylidene) to give 1,3-dimesityl-2,2-difluoroimidazolidine (SIMesF2), and 1,3-dimesitylimidazolidine-2-sulfide, as well as the trifluoromethylated carbene derivative 1,3-dimesityl-2-fluoro-2-trifluoromethylimidazolidine. CF3 radicals, as well as SF4, serve presumably as intermediates of the conversions. In addition, the photochemical activation of SF5CF3 was performed in the presence of triphenylphosphine. The formation of triphenyldifluorophosphorane and triphenylphosphine sulfide was observed.

Abstract
With the increasing relevance of organophosphorus fluorine compounds in the pharmaceutical industry, their synthesis has attracted great attention. Herein, we report an efficient fluorination strategy for P(O)-H and P(O)-OH compounds using sulfuryl fluoride as the fluorination reagent. Avoiding the use of expensive or complex prepreparation reagents for fluoridation, this strategy could conveniently construct a variety of fluorophosphonates and phosphonofluoridates under mild conditions and without additional oxidants.

Abstract
Despite the growing importance of fluorinated organic compounds in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and materials science, the introduction of fluorine into organic molecules is still a challenge, and no catalytic fluorocarbonylation of aryl/alkyl boron compounds has been reported to date. Herein, we present the development of palladium and phosphine synergistic redox catalysis of fluorocarbonylation of potassium aryl/alkyl trifluoroborate. Trifluoromethyl arylsulfonate (TFMS), which was used as a trifluoromethoxylation reagent, an easily handled and bench-scale reagent, has been employed as an efficient source of COF2. The reaction operates under mild conditions with good to excellent yields and tolerates diverse complex scaffolds, which allows efficient late-stage fluorocarbonylation of marked small-molecule drugs. Mechanistically, the key intermediates of labile Brettphos-Pd(II)-OCF3 complex and difluoro-Brettphos were synthesized and spectroscopically characterized, including X-ray crystallography. A detailed reaction mechanism involving the synergistic redox catalytic cycles Pd(II)/(0) and P(III)/(V) was proposed, and multifunction of phosphine ligand was identified based on 19F NMR, isotope tracing, synthetic, and computational studies.

Abstract
Phosphorus-fluorine bonds have become increasingly relevant in the pharmaceutical industry. To continue their exploration, more efficient synthetic methods are needed. Here, we report the application of sulfone iminium fluoride (SIF) reagents to the synthesis of P(V)-F bonds. The SIF reagents promote the deoxyfluorination of phosphinic acids in just 60 s with excellent yields and scope. The same P(V)-F products can also be synthesized from secondary phosphine oxides using an SIF reagent.

Abstract
Herein, we demonstrate two complementary strategies for the syntheses of sulfonyl fluorides using sulfonic acids and their salts. One strategy involves the conversion of sulfonic acid sodium salts to sulfonyl fluorides using thionyl fluoride in 90-99% yields in one hour. Lessons learned from the mechanism of this reaction also have enabled a complementary deoxyfluorination of sulfonic acids using Xtalfluor-E® - a bench stable solid - allowing for the conversion of both aryl and alkyl sulfonic acids and salts to sulfonyl fluorides in 41-94% yields. Notably, using Xtalfluor-E® enabled milder conditions and the use of both sulfonic acids and their sodium salts.
