Abstract
The thermal and photochemical Balz-Schiemann reaction in commonly used solvents was revisited under catalyst- and additive-free conditions. The study showed that using low- or non-polar solvents could improve the pyrolysis and photolysis of aryldiazonium tetrafluoroborates, enabling effective fluorination at a low temperature or under visible-light irradiation. PhCl and hexane were exemplified as cheap and reliable solvents for both reactions, providing good to excellent yields of aryl fluorides from the corresponding diazonium tetrafluoroborates. The combination of slight heating with visible-light irradiation was beneficial for the transformation of stable aryldiazonium tetrafluoroborates. Nevertheless, the electronic and steric nature of aryldiazonium tetrafluoroborates still had a pivotal effect on both fluorinations even in these solvents.

Abstract
Herein, we provide a new and facile strategy to successfully overcome the inherent aggregation-caused quenching effect and hydrophobicity that exist in traditional PSs by the introduction of sodium salts. The obtained water-soluble Ir(iii) complexes as carrier-free and pure nanoparticle photosensitizers exhibit excellent performance in photodynamic therapy and cell imaging.

Abstract
C-C cross-couplings constitute the largest diversity of organic reactions of chemical, biomedical, and industrial significance. They are also among the most frequently encountered reactions used in the synthesis of numerous drugs and relevant pharmaceutical substances. Development of an easily accessed, efficient, stable, and low cost catalyst is an attractive area of research in such kind of organic synthesis. This review highlights the remarkable and recent achievements made recently in the synthesis and use of palladium(II) complexes catalysts, that are based on heterocycles as ligands in their constitution, in the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling.

Abstract
2,2'-Dipyridylamines (dpa) and related compounds belong to the family of polydentate nitrogen ligands. More than a century has passed since their first report but new complexes and applications have been emerging in recent years owing to the versatility of dpa-based architectures. This review aims to present and highlight the main achievements attained with dpa-containing metal complexes in the domains of homogeneous catalysis and luminescent materials.

Abstract
The use of transition-metal nanoparticles in catalysis has attracted much interest, and their use in carbon-carbon coupling reactions such as Suzuki, Heck, Sonogashira, Stille, Hiyama, and Ullmann coupling reactions constitutes one of their most important applications. The transition-metal nanoparticles are considered as one of the green catalysts because they show high catalytic activity for several reactions in water. This review is devoted to the catalytic system developed in the past 10 years in transition-metal nanoparticles-catalyzed carbon-carbon coupling reactions such as Suzuki, Heck, Sonogashira, Stille, Hiyama, and Ullmann coupling reactions in water.

Abstract
A new palladium catalyst was prepared by immobilising ligand 2, 2′-dipyridylamine on the backbone of an acidic rosin polymer from gum rosin, on to which palladium(II) was bound via coordination. The catalyst at a low loading of 0.2 mol% was found to be highly effective for Suzuki–Miyaura coupling reactions of aryl halides and arylboronic acids under microwave irradiation in the presence of 1 equiv. of Na2CO3, affording excellent yields of the corresponding biaryls. Moreover, the catalyst exhibited very good recyclability over three cycles.
