Abstract
Methylene and methyl tricyclic isoquinolinones were selectively prepared using a palladium(II)-catalyzed aerobic aza-Wacker reaction, followed by a base- and temperature-controlled Heck reaction catalyzed by palladium(0). Exo- to endo-double-bond migration in isoquinolinones was achieved with 93-99% yields by treatment of the Heck products with Cs2CO3 in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) at 150 °C. A probable mechanism for Cs2CO3-promoted olefin isomerization was proposed and examined using D-isotope labeling experiments. Finally, yuanamide, a 13-methyl-8-oxoprotoberberine alkaloid, was synthesized using the palladium-catalyzed aza-Wacker/Heck/migration sequence.

Abstract
The first total synthesis of the pyrrolo[2,3-c]quinoline alkaloid trigonoine B (1) was accomplished via a six-step sequence involving the construction of an N-substituted 4-aminopyrrolo[2,3-c]quinoline framework via electrocyclization of 2-(pyrrol-3-yl)benzene containing a carbodiimide moiety as a 2-azahexatriene system. The employed six-step sequence afforded trigonoine B (1) in 9.2% overall yield. The described route could be employed for the preparation of various N-substituted 4-aminopyrroloquinolines with various biological activities.

Abstract
An efficient intramolecular Pd-catalyzed N-arylation of o-iodo-amidosugars for the synthesis of N-glycosylated oxindoles has been reported. The coupling reaction takes place in toluene and involves Pd(OAc)2/RuPhos catalytic systems in the presence of K2CO3. This versatile approach was extended successfully to the synthesis of other N-glycosylated heterocycles.

Abstract
A new [3 + 3]- and [3 + 4]-annulation strategy involving azaoxyallyl cation and [1,m]-amphoteric compounds (m = 3,4) is presented. This concise method enables easy assembly of functionalized saturated N-heterocycles, comprised of six-and seven-membered rings and is of high significance in the context of drug discovery approaches. This reaction also represents a new trapping modality of the azaoxyallyl cation with amphoteric agents of different chain lengths that consist of a heteroatom nucleophilic site and a π-electrophilic site.

Abstract
Iminium ions generated in situ via copper(I) bromide catalyzed oxidation of N-aryl amines readily undergo [4 + 2] cycloadditions with a range of dienophiles. This method involves the functionalization of both a C(sp(3))-H and a C(sp(2))-H bond and enables the rapid construction of polycyclic amines under relatively mild conditions.
