Abstract
1,2-Dihydroisoquinolines are important compounds due to their biological and medicinal activities, and numerous approaches to their synthesis have been reported. Recently, we reported a facile synthesis of trisubstituted allenamides via N-acetylation followed by DBU-promoted isomerization, where various substituted allenamides were conveniently synthesized from readily available propargylamines with high efficiency. In light of this research background, we focused on the utility of this methodology for the synthesis of substituted 1,2-dihydroisoquinolines. In this study, a palladium-catalyzed cascade cyclization-coupling of trisubstituted allenamides containing a bromoaryl moiety with arylboronic acids is described. When N-acetyl diphenyl-substituted trisubstituted allenamide and phenylboronic acid were treated with 10 mol% of Pd(OAc)2, 20 mol% of P(o-tolyl)3, and 5 equivalents of NaOH in dioxane/H2O (4/1) at 80 °C, the reaction proceeded to afford a substituted 1,2-dihydroisoquinoline. The reaction proceeded via intramolecular cyclization, followed by transmetallation with the arylboronic acid of the resulting allylpalladium intermediate. A variety of highly substituted 1,2-dihydroisoquinolines were concisely obtained using this methodology because the allenamides, as reaction substrates, were prepared from readily available propargylamines in one step.

Abstract
AbstractA new one-pot synthesis of 3-(1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolin-1-yl)-isoquinolin-1(2H)-ones by DEAD-promoted oxidative Ugi–Wittig reaction was developed. The sequential reactions of (2-carboxybenzyl)triphenylphosphonium salts, isocyanides, and N-aryl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolines produced 3-(1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolin-1-yl)-isoquinolin-1(2H)-ones in moderate to good overall yields in the presence of DEAD and Et3N.

Abstract
Transition metal-catalyzed 1,2-difunctionalization reactions of alkynes have emerged as a powerful tool to forge carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds for the rapid synthesis of polyfunctionalized molecular scaffolds. In this regard, our group has persistently been developing transition metal-mediated 1,2-aminofunctionalization reactions of alkynes through a rationally designed pyridino-alkyne core by utilizing the carbophilic activation strategy. In this account, we present an array of such 1,2-aminofunctionalization reactions which have been successfully executed on this core to afford important polycyclic frameworks such as functionalized quinalizinones, pyridinium oxazole dyads (PODs), N-doped polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), N-doped spiro-PAHs. Additionally, the synthesis of phosphine ligated gold complexes bearing pyrido-isoquinoline scaffold from the pyridino-alkynes will be discussed briefly.

Abstract
A novel and efficient metal-free C-H functionalization of enynals is developed to synthesize α-pyrone derivatives via the formation of two C-O bonds. In this project, K2S2O8 has been introduced as an efficient oxygen source and C-H functionalization agent in regioselective oxidative cyclization reaction with a relatively broad substrate scope.

Abstract
Two distinctive transition-metal-promoted aerobic oxidation protocols have been developed for the synthesis of isoquinolones from 2-vinylbenzaldehydes and aniline derivatives. Thus, the one-pot tandem reaction sequence of imine formation, thermal 6π-electrocyclization, followed by either Cu(OAc)2-mediated or Pd(OAc)2-catalyzed aerobic oxidation protocol allowed the ready access to isoquinolone derivatives. The control experiments revealed that the 1,2-dihydroisoquinoline intermediates from the 6π-electrocyclization of 1-azatrienes were aerobically oxidized to isoquinolones in the presence of either Cu(OAc)2 or Pd(OAc)2 catalyst.

Abstract
Iodonium compounds play a pivotal role in (18) F-fluorination of radiopharmaceuticals containing non-activated arenes. However, preparation of these species is limited to oxidation conditions or exchange with organometallics that are prepared from aryl halides. Herein we describe a novel "one-pot" process to assemble aryl(isoquinoline)iodonium salts in 40-94 % yields from mesoionic carbene silver complex and Aryl-I-Py2 (OTf)2 . The method is general, practical, and compatible with well-functionalized molecules as well as useful for the preparation of a wide range of (18) F-labeled isoquinolines resulting in up to 92 % radiochemical conversion. As proof of concept, a fluorinated isoquinoline alkaloid, (18) F-aspergillitine is prepared in 10 % isolated radiochemical yield from the corresponding phenyl(aspergillitine)iodonium salt.
