Abstract
Palladium-catalyzed sequential C(sp3)-H and C(sp2)-H bond diolefination reaction of o-toluidine has been realized for the first time using acetyl-protected aminoethyl phenyl thioether ligands. This novel reaction allows for preparation of the conjugated diene structure via an immediate second olefination on the basis of the first C(sp3)-H olefination in one pot. Various triflyl-protected anilines and acrylates were used as coupling partners elegantly. Furthermore, the unpurified diolefination products can be easily converted to tetrahydroquinoline derivatives.

Abstract
An efficient method for the synthesis of multi-substituted pyridines from β-aryl-substituted α,β-unsaturated oxime ethers and alkenes via Pd-catalyzed C–H activation has been developed. The method, using Pd(OAc)2 and a sterically hindered pyridine ligand, provides access to various multi-substituted pyridines with complete regioselectivity. Mechanistic studies suggest that the pyridine products are formed by Pd-catalyzed electrophilic C–H alkenylation of α,β-unsaturated oxime followed by aza-6π-electrocyclization. The utility of this method is showcased by the synthesis of 4-aryl-substituted pyridine derivatives, which are difficult to synthesize efficiently using previously reported Rh-catalyzed strategies with alkenes. An efficient method for the synthesis of multi-substituted pyridines from α,β-unsaturated oxime ethers via cationic Pd(ii)-catalyzed C–H activation has been developed.![]()

Abstract
The direct arylation of aliphatic ketones has been developed via Pd-catalyzed β-C(sp3)-H bond functionalization with 2-(aminooxy)-N,N-dimethylacetamide as a novel transient directing group (TDG), which showed remarkable directing ability to generate arylated products in moderate to good yields. Furthermore, the reaction can tolerate abundant substrate of ketones and aryl iodides. This study expands the scope of applications for TDGs.

Abstract
A novel method for the Rh(iii)-catalyzed oxime-directed C-H amidation of indoles with dioxazolones has been developed. This strategy provides an exclusive site selectivity and the directing group can be easily removed. This transformation features a wide substrate scope, good functional group tolerance and excellent yields, and may serve as a significant tool to construct structurally diverse indole derivatives for the screening of potential pharmaceuticals in the future.

Abstract
The Pd-mediated cross-coupling of (hetero)arenes with alkenes may be an effective method for the formation of a C–C bond from two C–H bonds. Discovered by Fujiwara and co-workers in 1967, this reaction led to a number of reports that we firstly highlighted in 2011 (review with references till June 2010) and for which, we retained the name “dehydrogenative Heck reaction”. The topic, especially the reactions of five-membered heteroarenes, has been the subject of intensive research over the last ten years. The present review is limited to these dehydrogenative Heck reactions published since 2010, underlining the progress of the procedures.

Abstract
We report a Pd-catalyzed β-arylation of cyclic α,β-unsaturated O-methyl oximes with aryl iodides. This reaction shows complete regioselectivity and excellent functional group tolerance. β-Arylation of 2-cyclohexen-1-one O-methyl oxime (existing as 2 : 1 E/Z mixture) with certain aryl iodides such as 4-iodoanisole affords only β-arylated (E)-O-methyl oximes.
