Abstract
Rod-like CeO2 nanoparticles (NPs) were produced by the quick precipitation approach and employed as a catalyzer to increase the chemiluminescence (CL) intensity of the luminol-O2 reaction. The transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images of the CeO2 NPs showed that rod-like particles with the length and diameter about 15 nm and 5 nm, respectively, were produced. Furthermore, pharmaceuticals including oxcarbazepine (OXP) and ascorbic acid (AA) showed an inhibitory effect against the CL intensity such that the more concentration of the pharmaceuticals, the less was the CL intensity. Therefore, the new CeO2 NPs-luminol-O2 CL reaction was developed to determine OXP and AA in the pharmaceutical formulations. It is the first CL method established for the quantification of OXP. The linear dynamic range of this method for OXP was from 6.0 × 10-7 to 6.0 × 10-5 mol L-1 and for AA from 1.0 × 10-6 to 1.0 × 10-4 mol L-1.

Abstract
The further development and application of capillary electromigration techniques for the enantioselective determination of drugs and their metabolites in body fluids, tissues, and in vitro preparations during the 2010 to 2020 time period continued to proof their usefulness and attractiveness in bioanalysis. This review discusses the principles and important aspects of capillary electrophoresis- based chiral drug bioassays, provides a survey of the assays reported during the past 10 years and presents an overview of the key achievements encountered in that time period. For systems with charged chiral selectors, special attention is paid on assays that feature field-amplified sample injection to enable the determination of ppb levels of analytes and optimized online incubation procedures for the rapid assessment of a metabolic pathway. Applications discussed encompass the pharmacokinetics of drug enantiomers in vivo and in vitro, the impact of inhibitors on metabolic steps, the elucidation of the stereoselectivity of drug metabolism in vivo and in vitro, and drug enantiomers in toxicological, forensic, and doping analysis.

Abstract
Nondestructive, sensitive, near-real-time quantitative analysis approaches are gaining popularity and attention, especially in clinical diagnosis and detection. There is a need to propose an alternative scheme using surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) assisted by chemometrics to improve some defects existing using other analytical instruments to meet clinical demands. In this study, clinical drug oxcarbazepine (OXC) in human blood plasma has been quantified and detected using this method. Partial least squares regression (PLSR) modeling was employed to assess the relationship between full SERS spectral data and OXC concentration. The calibration set's correlation coefficient of the model is > 0.9, the result suggests that this method is favorable and feasible. Furthermore, other multivariate calibration algorithms like Monte Carlo cross-validation (MCCV) sample set partitioning based on joint XY distances (SPXY), adaptive iteratively reweighted penalized least squares (AIR-PLS), moving window partial least squares regression (MWPLS), and leave-one-out cross-validation were used to handle these spectral data to obtain an accurate predictive model. The results achieved in this study provide a possibility and availability for us to apply SERS in combination with chemometrics to diagnosis detection.

Abstract
In this overview the goal of the authors was to analyze from the historical perspective the reasons of success and failure of chiral capillary electrophoresis. In addition, the current trends are analyzed, unique advantages of capillary electrophoresis are highlighted and some future directions are discussed.

Abstract
CE is known for being one of the most powerful analytical techniques when performing enantioseparations due to its numerous advantages such as excellent separation efficiency and extremely low solvents and reagents consumption, all of them derived from the capillary small dimensions. Moreover, it is worth highlighting that unlike in chromatographic techniques, in CE the chiral selector is generally within the separation medium instead of being attached to the separation column which makes the method optimization a more versatile task. Despite its numerous advantages, when using UV-Vis detection, CE lacks of sensitivity detection due to its short optical path length derived from the narrow separation capillary. This issue can be overcome by means of different approaches, either by sample treatment procedures or by in-capillary preconcentration techniques or even by employing detection systems more sensitive than UV-Vis, such as LIF or MS. The present review assembles the latest contributions regarding improvements of sensitivity in chiral CE published from June 2013 until May 2015, which follows the works included in a previous review reported by Sánchez-Hernández et al. [Electrophoresis 2014, 35, 12-27].
