Abstract
This work introduces an extremely easy method for preparing luminescent carbon dots (CDs) at ambient temperature using 1,2-naphthoquinone sulphonate and ethylenediamine as precursors via self-exothermic reaction without energy input. The as-obtained CDs have a high quantum yield (34.1 %), a production yield of 21.2 %, and a small size diameter (3.44 nm). Various techniques (NMR, TEM, EDX-mapping, XPS, XRD, FT-IR, fluorescence, and UV-visible spectroscopy) were used to characterize the prepared CDs. The CDs exhibited an excitation-independent emission with λex of 275 nm, demonstrating their homogeneity and high purity. The anticancer drug vincristine (VCR) quantitively quenched the fluorescent signal of the synthesized CDs, allowing their application as the first fluorescent nano-sensor to determine VCR. The quenching effect was linear within the range of 0.2-5.0 μg mL-1, enabling the determination of VCR in vials, plasma, and for content uniformity testing with a detection limit of 0.06 μg mL-1. Moreover, the synthesized CDs were employed as a bio-sensing platform to detect VCR in cancer cells owing to their good selectivity, excellent biocompatibility, minimal cytotoxicity, and high stability. The fabrication of CDs with excellent properties at room temperature under mild conditions paves the way for new advancements in the room temperature synthesis of CDs and offers a highly efficient alternative to traditional synthesis approaches.

Int J Biol Macromol 2024; 259:129429. Abstract
In this study, we used polyaldehyde gum Arabic (OGA) and carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) as a gel matrix to form an injectable self-healing hydrogel by Schiff-base bonding. Further, graphene oxide (GO) was loaded with doxorubicin (DOX) to the hydrogel, which resulted in a CMCS-OGA/GO@DOX hydrogel. We achieved a DOX drug loading capacity of 43.80 ± 1.13 %. Rheological studies showed that GO hydrogels have improved mechanical properties. The in vitro release profile showed pH responsiveness with 88.21 % DOX release at pH 5.5. Biocompatibility studies showed that the hydrogel composition had good cytocompatibility with L929 cells. The 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay showed a cell survival rate of 93.88 % within 48 h. The DOX-loaded hydrogel exhibited higher cell mortality in breast cancer cells (4 T1), with an inhibition rate of 79.4 % at 48 h. Acridine orange/ethidium bromide staining experiments on 4 T1 cells showed that when loaded with the same DOX concentration, the hydrogel significantly reduced the toxic effects on normal cells, whereas it had significant cytotoxic effects on cancer cells. This result indicates that the prepared GO hydrogel drug delivery system can serve as a novel approach for localized breast cancer treatment.

Abstract
Based on upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) as energy donor and herring sperm DNA (hsDNA) as molecular recognition element, an unlabelled upconversion luminescence (UCL) affinity biosensor was constructed for the detection of anthraquinone (AQ) anticancer drugs in biological fluids. AQ anticancer drugs can insert into the double helix structure of hsDNA on the surface of UCNPs, thereby shortening the distance from UCNPs. Therefore, the luminescence resonance energy transfer (LRET) phenomenon is effectively triggered between UCNPs and AQ anticancer drugs. Hence, AQ anticancer drugs can be quantitatively detected according to the UCL quenching rate. The biosensor showed good sensitivity and stability for the detection of daunorubicin (DNR) and doxorubicin (ADM). For the detection of DNR, the linear range is 1-100 μg·mL-1 with a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.60 μg·mL-1, and for ADM, the linear range is 0.5-100 μg·mL-1 with a LOD of 0.38 μg·mL-1. The proposed biosensor provides a convenient method for monitoring AQ anticancer drugs in clinical biological fluids in the future.

Abstract
Antineoplastic drugs, etoposide (ETO), are widely used in leukaemia. A patient with leukaemia has a relative infection with pneumonia treated by fluoroquinolones as moxifloxacin HCL (MOX). Because opioid analgesic as nalbuphine HCL (NAL) does not have a ceiling dose, it is used to manage the distasteful sensory in leukaemia. Consequently, green methods for synchronous spectrofluorimetric quantification of a ternary mixture of ETO, MOX and NAL were developed. The first approach relies simply on the estimation of MOX at 371 nm by conventional synchronous fluorimetric technique (Δλ of 60 nm). The second approach depends on applying the first derivative synchronous fluorimetric technique (Δλ of 60 nm) for simultaneous estimation of ETO and NAL at 257 and 273 nm, respectively. A good linear correlation was obtained in the ranges of 0.04-0.40, 0.10-1.00 and 0.50-5.00 µg ml-1 for MOX, ETO and NAL, respectively. Moreover, the proposed approaches were successfully applied for the estimation of the studied drugs in the pharmaceutical dosage forms. Additionally, the synchronous assessment of ETO, MOX and NAL in the spiked human urine was successfully attained by the facile protein precipitation technique. The mean % recoveries in spiked human urine were 99.49, 98.07 and 98.48 for MOX, ETO and NAL, respectively.

Abstract
It is widely accepted that cancer, the second leading cause of death, is a morbidity with big impacts on the global health. In the last few years, chemo-therapeutic treatment continually induces alone most lengthy consequents, which is extremely harmful for the physiological and psychological health of the patients. In the present research, we discuss the recent techniques for employed for extraction, and quantitative determination of such compounds in pharmaceutical, and biological specimens. In the frame of this information, this review aims to provide basic principles of chromatography, spectroscopy, and electroanalytical methods for the analysis of anticancer drugs published in the last three years. The review also describes the recent developments regarding enhancing the limit of detection (LOD), the linear dynamic range, and so forth. The results show that the LOD for the chromatographic techniques with the UV detector was obtained equaled over the range 2.0 ng mL-1-0.2 μg mL-1, whereas the LOD values for analysis by chromatographic technique with the mass spectrometry (MS) detector was found between 10.0 pg mL-1-0.002 μg mL-1. The biological fluids could be directly injected to capillary electrophoresis (CE) in cases where the medicine concentration is at the contents greater than mg L-1 or g L-1. Additionally, electrochemical detection of the anticancer drugs has been mainly conducted by the voltammetry techniques with diverse modified electrodes, and lower LODs were estimated between 3.0 ng mL-1-0.3 μg mL-1. It is safe to say that the analyses of anticancer drugs can be achieved by employing a plethora of techniques such as electroanalytical, spectroscopy, and chromatography techniques.

Abstract
Capillary electrophoresis represents a promising technique in the field of pharmaceutical analysis. The presented review provides a summary of capillary electrophoretic methods suitable for routine quality control analyses of small molecule drugs published since 2015. In total, more than 80 discussed methods are sorted into three main sections according to the applied electroseparation modes (capillary zone electrophoresis, electrokinetic chromatography, and micellar, microemulsion, and liposome-electrokinetic chromatography) and further subsections according to the applied detection techniques (UV, capacitively coupled contactless conductivity detection, and mass spectrometry). Key parameters of the procedures are summarized in four concise tables. The presented applications cover analyses of active pharmaceutical ingredients and their related substances such as degradation products or enantiomeric impurities. The contribution of reported results to the current knowledge of separation science and general aspects of the practical applications of capillary electrophoretic methods are also discussed.

Abstract
Methotrexate (MTX) is a folate antagonist drug used for several diseases, such as cancers, various malignancies, rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and inflammatory bowel disease. Due to its structural features, including the presence of two carboxylic acid groups and its low native fluorescence, there are some challenges to develop analytical methods for its determination. MTX is metabolized to 7-hydroxymethotrexate (7-OH-MTX), 2,4-diamino-N10-methylpteroic acid (DAMPA), and the active MTX polyglutamates (MTXPGs) in the liver, intestine, and red blood cells (RBCs), respectively. Additionally, the drug has a narrow therapeutic range; hence, its therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) is necessary to regulate the pharmacokinetics of the drug and to decrease the risk of toxicity. Due to environmental toxicity of MTX; its sensitive, fast and low cost determination in workplace environments is of great interest. A large number of methodologies including high performance liquid chromatography equipped with UV-visible, fluorescence, or electrochemical detection, liquid chromatography-mass spectroscopy, capillary electrophoresis, UV-visible spectrophotometry, and electrochemical methods have been developed for the quantitation of MTX and its metabolites in pharmaceutical, biological, and environmental samples. This paper will attempt to review several published methodologies and the instrumental conditions, which have been applied to measure MTX and its metabolites within the last decade.
