Abstract
Indoles and hydantoins are important heterocycles scaffolds which present in numerous bioactive compounds which possess various biological activities. Moreover, they are essential building blocks in organic synthesis, particularly for the preparation of important hybrid molecules. The series of hybrid compounds containing indoles and imidazolidin-2-one moiety with direct C-C bond were synthesized using an amidoalkylation one-pot reaction. All compounds were investigated as a growth regulator for germination, growth and development of wheat seeds (Triticum aestivum L). Their effect on drought resistance at very low concentrations (4 × 10-5 M) was evaluated. The study highlighted identified the leading compounds, 3a and 3e, with higher growth-regulating activity than the indole-auxin analogues.

Thermochemical Study of 1-Methylhydantoin. MOLECULES (BASEL, SWITZERLAND) 2022; 27:molecules27020556. Abstract
Using static bomb combustion calorimetry, the combustion energy of 1-methylhydantoin was obtained, from which the standard molar enthalpy of formation of the crystalline phase at T = 298.15 K of the compound studied was calculated. Through thermogravimetry, mass loss rates were measured as a function of temperature, from which the enthalpy of vaporization was calculated. Additionally, some properties of fusion were determined by differential scanning calorimetry, such as enthalpy and temperature. Adding the enthalpy of fusion to the enthalpy of vaporization, the enthalpy of sublimation of the compound was obtained at T = 298.15 K. By combining the enthalpy of formation of the compound in crystalline phase with its enthalpy of sublimation, the respective standard molar enthalpy of formation in the gas phase was calculated. On the other hand, the results obtained in the present work were compared with those of other derivatives of hydantoin, with which the effect of the change of some substituents in the base heterocyclic ring was evaluated.

Abstract
One-pot syntheses are a simple, efficient and easy methodology, which are widely
used for the synthesis of organic compounds. Imidazoline is a valuable heterocyclic moiety
used as a synthetic intermediate, chiral auxiliary, chiral catalyst and a ligand for asymmetric
catalysis. Imidazole is a fundamental unit of biomolecules that can be easily prepared from
imidazolines. The one-pot method is an impressive approach to synthesize organic compounds
as it minimizes the reaction time, separation procedures, and ecological impact. Many significant
one-pot methods such as N-bromosuccinimide mediated reaction, ring-opening of tetrahydrofuran,
triflic anhydrate mediated reaction, etc. were reported for imidazoline synthesis.
This review describes an overview of the one-pot synthesis of imidazolines and covers literature
up to 2020.

Abstract
A series of novel β-carboline derivatives was designed by combining the anti-tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) lead compound tetrahydro-β-carboline ester with the hydantoin, thiohydantoin, and urea motifs. These derivatives were synthesized from tetrahydro-β-carboline ester via a structural diversity-oriented synthesis in one step, and their biological activities were evaluated. Most of the derivatives exhibited anti-TMV activity higher than that of commercial plant virucide ribavirin, such as compounds 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 15, 16, 19, and 21. Compared with the lead compounds, some of these derivatives showed good insecticidal activity against Plutella xylostella and Culex pipiens pallens. At the same time, these derivatives also showed broad-spectrum fungicidal activity. The systematic study provides strong evidence that the hydantoin, thiohydantoin, and urea motifs of these molecules can improve and modulate the activities of the analogues of natural products.

Abstract
The 41 novel acylthiourea derivatives with hydantoin were synthesized in moderate to excellent yields by using 5-(4-aminophenyl)- and 5-(4-aminobenzyl)- hydantoin or 5-(4-aminobenzyl)-thiohydantoin as raw materials and characterized by IR, 1H NMR spectra and elementary analysis. The preliminary bioassay showed that these compounds exhibit certain selectively herbicidal activities with the 91%, 94% and 87% inhibition rates of 7l, 8o and 8p against B. campestris, 100%, 100% and 95% efficacy against B. campestris in a greenhouse test, respectively. 7a, 7b, 7c and 7d exhibited 74%, 79%, 79% and 71% inhibition rates against F. oxysporum, respectively.
