Abstract
The synthesis of new water-soluble N-alkylated derivatives of 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane is presented. Ru(PPh3)2Cl2 has been used to react with 1-(4-nitrobenzyl)-3,5-triaza-1-azonia-7-phosphaadamantane bromide (PTAR). By using elemental analysis, NMR, and IR spectroscopy, the obtained compounds were identified. The UV-visible absorption spectroscopy has been used to monitor the complexation of various transition metal cations. Studies on conductivity have been utilized to validate the complexes' stoichiometries. Using the disc diffusion method, five bacteria strains were used for the study of the antimicrobial activity of compounds 1-3. All tested pathogens, including M luteus LB 141107, were found to have strong biologic activity against the compounds tested in this study. Additionally, DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) has been tested for its ability to scavenge hydrogen peroxide and free radicals. According to our results, these compounds exhibit excellent radical scavenging properties.

Abstract
Aggregating gold(I) complexes in solution through short aurophilic contacts promotes new photoluminescent deactivation pathways (aggregation-induced emission, AIE). The time dependence of spontaneous AIE is seldom studied. We examine the behavior of complex [Au(N9-hypoxanthinate)(PTA)] (1) in an aqueous solution with the aid of variable-temperature NMR, time-resolved UV-Vis and photoluminescence spectroscopy, and PGSE NMR. The studies suggest that partial ligand scrambling in favor of the ionic [Au(PTA)2][Au(N9-hypoxanthinate)2] pair followed by anion oligomerization takes place. The results are rationalized with the aid of computational calculations at the TD-DFT level of theory and IRI analysis of the electron density.

Synthesis, characterization and catalytic application for azide-alkyne cycloaddition in glycerol. Dalton Trans 2021; 50:6109-6125. [PMID: 33973609 DOI: 10.1039/d1dt00992c] [Citation(s) in RCA: 3] [Impact Index Per Article: 1.0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Journal Information] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Indexed: 01/18/2023]
Abstract
The new sterically hindered amido-phosphane 1,3,7-triaza-5-phosphabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane-3,7-diylbis(phenylmethanone), DBPTA (1), has been obtained via an open-cage double N-acylation of 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphadamantane (PTA) using benzoic anhydride. DBPTA is the only acyl derivative of PTA that contains an aromatic appendage. Due to the bulky nature of the benzoyl C(O)Ph groups, they exhibit mutual anti configuration as confirmed by solution NMR and single crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 is readily soluble in common polar organic and green solvents, making it a very versatile ligand that could be used in a variety of reaction systems. To assess the coordination characteristics of the new phosphane, seven copper complexes of formulas [Cu(DBPTA)4]BF4 (2), [CuX(DBPTA)3] {X = Br (3) and I (4)}, [Cu(μ-X)(DBPTA)2]2 {X = Br (5) and I (6)}, [Cu(bpy)(DBPTA)2]Y {Y = BF4 (7) and BPh4 (8)} {bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine}, and three silver complexes with formulas [Ag(DBPTA)4]NO3 (9), [Ag(Tpm*)(DBPTA)]NO3 (10) and [Ag(Tpms)(DBPTA)] (11) {Tpm* = tris(3,5-dimethyl-1-pyrazolyl)methane, Tpms = tris(pyrazol-1-yl)methanesulfonate} have been synthesised. Compounds 1-11 were characterized by elemental analyses and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS), as well as by FT-IR and NMR (1H, 13C, 31P, COSY and HSQC) spectroscopic techniques. The catalytic activity of the complexes has been investigated for 1,3-dipolar azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction using glycerol as a reaction medium to afford 1,4-disubstituted-1,2,3-triazoles. Complex 7 was found to be the most efficient catalyst, affording triazoles in yields up to 97% after 18 h under standard bench experimental conditions (at 23 °C, aerobic conditions and in the absence of any additional bases) and up to 98% after 15 minutes under microwave irradiation (125 °C, 30 W). The catalysis proceeds with a broad substrate scope according to "Click" rules providing a significant contribution to "Green Chemistry".

Abstract
The 3,7-diacetyl-1,3,7-triaza-5-phosphabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane (DAPTA) derivatives, viz. the already reported 3,7-diacetyl-1,3,7-triaza-5-phosphabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane 5-oxide (DAPTA=O, 1), the novel 3,7-diacetyl-1,3,7-triaza-5-phosphabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane-5-sulfide (DAPTA=S, 2), and 3,7-diacetyl-1,3,7-triaza-5-phosphabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane-5-selenide (DAPTA=Se, 3), have been synthesized under mild conditions. They are soluble in water and most common organic solvents and have been characterized using 1H and 31P NMR spectroscopy and, for 2 and 3, also by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The effect of O, S, or Se at the phosphorus atom on the structural features of the compounds has been investigated, also through the analyses of Hirshfeld surfaces. The presence of 1–3 enhances the activity of copper for the catalytic azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction in an aqueous medium. The combination of cheaply available copper (II) acetate and compound 1 has been used as a catalyst for the one-pot and 1,4-regioselective procedure to obtain 1,2,3-triazoles with high yields and according to ‘click rules’.

Abstract
New hydrosoluble and air-stable Cu(i) halide compounds, viz. [CuX(DAPTA)3] (1) and (2), and [Cu(μ-X)(DAPTA)2]2 (3) and (4) (X = Br or I, in this order), have been prepared by reacting Cu(i) halide (i.e., bromide or iodide) with 3,7-diacetyl-1,3,7-triaza-5-phosphabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane (DAPTA) under mild conditions. They represent the first examples of Cu(i) halide complexes bearing the DAPTA ligand, which have been fully characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H, 13C{1H} and 31P{1H} NMR spectroscopies, ESI-MS+ and, for 4, also by single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) analyses. Complexes 1-4 are efficient catalysts for the one-pot microwave assisted three-component (terminal alkyne, organic halide and NaN3) Huisgen cycloaddition reaction in aqueous media to afford the corresponding disubstituted triazoles. The catalysis proceeds with a broad alkyne substrate scope and according to "click rules". Photophysical studies of compound 4 showed an unusual reversible thermochromic behaviour exhibiting a blue emission at 298 K due to the halide-to-ligand charge transfer (3XLCT) and a red emission at 77 K because of the {Cu2I2} unit.

Abstract
The reaction of [Au(C6F5)(tht)] (tht = tetrahydrothiophene) with 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane (PTA) and 3,7-diacetyl-1,3,7-triaza-5-phosphabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane (DAPTA) leads to the formation of [Au(C6F5)(phosph)] (phosph = PTA, 1; phosph = DAPTA, 2). The compounds are slightly soluble in water and aggregate at higher concentrations, giving rise to the formation of needle- and rodlike structures (1) and well-organized spherical aggregates (2). Compounds 1 and 2 were reacted with AgPF6, giving rise to the formation in all cases of luminescent water-soluble 1:1 Au···Ag heterometallic complexes, as evidenced by X-ray crystal structure determination. The use of different silver salts that differ on the counterion induces changes in the resulting luminescence and aggregation morphology.

Abstract
The upper rim of 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane (PTA) has been modified for the first time. Lithiation of PTA, with n-butyllithium, resulted in deprotonation of an alpha-phosphorus methylene and the formation of 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane-6-yllithium (PTA-Li). The chiral chelating phosphine 6-(diphenylphosphino)-1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane (PTA-PPh2) was synthesized, in racemic form, by the reaction of PTA-Li with ClPPh2. PTA-PPh2 has been fully characterized in solution by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry and in the solid state by X-ray crystallography. The 31P NMR spectrum contains a pair of doublets at -19.8 and -100.1 ppm (d, (2)J(PP) = 65 Hz). Unlike PTA, the new bidentate phosphine, PTA-PPh2, is insoluble in aqueous solutions. Two group 6 metal carbonyl complexes, [M(CO)4(PTA-PPh2)] (M = W and Mo), were synthesized by the addition of PTA-PPh2 to cis-[M(CO)4(pip)2] and characterized by NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography. Also reported are the solid-state structures of cis-[W(CO)4PTA2], cis-[W(CO)4(PTA)(PPh3)], and [W(CO)4DPPM] (DPPM = diphenylphosphinomethane). PTA-PPh2 appears to be sterically similar to and slightly more electron-donating than DPPM.
