Abstract
The role of several risk factors, such as pollution, consumption of alcohol, age, sex and obesity in cancer progression is undeniable. Human malignancies are mainly characterized by deregulation of cyclin-dependent kinases (CDK) and cyclin inhibitor kinases (CIK) activities. Viruses express some onco-proteins which could interfere with CDK and CIKs function, and induce some signals to replicate their genome into host's cells. By reviewing some studies about the function of CDK and CIKs in cells infected with oncoviruses, such as HPV, HTLV, HERV, EBV, KSHV, HBV and HCV, we reviewed the mechanisms of different onco-proteins which could deregulate the cell cycle proteins.

Abstract
Background Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a global health problem and interferon-alpha (IFN-α) is one of the effective therapies. However, little is known about the genetic background of the HBV infection or the genetic determinants of the IFN-α treatment response. Thus, we aim to explore the possible molecular mechanisms of HBV infection and its response to the IFN-α therapy with a comprehensive bioinformatics analysis. Methods The Gene Expression Omnibus datasets (GSE83148, GSE84044 and GSE66698) were collected and the differentially expressed genes (DEGs), key biological processes and intersecting pathways were analyzed. The expression of the co-expressed DEGs in the clinical samples was verified by quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Results Analysis of all the 3 datasets revealed that there were eight up-regulated and one down-regulated co-expressed DEGs following the HBV infection and after IFN-α treatment. In clinical samples, the mRNA level of HKDC1, EPCAM, GSN, ZWINT and PLD3 were significantly increased, while, the mRNA level of PLEKHA2 was significantly decreased in HBV infected liver tissues compared to normal liver tissues. PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, focal adhesion, HTLV-I infection, cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction, metabolic pathways, NF-κB signaling pathway were important pathways associated with the HBV infection and the response of IFN-α treatment. Conclusions The co-expressed genes, common biological processes and intersecting pathways identified in the study might play an important role in HBV infection and response of IFN-α treatment. The dysregulated genes may act as novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets for HBV.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To establish the relationship between hepatitis B virus (HBV) and human T-cell lymphotropic virus type 1 (HTLV-1) serological markers in the Northern Territory, Australia. METHODS A retrospective serological study of patients presenting to public healthcare facilities in the Northern Territory between 2008 and 2015 was performed in order to determine the presence and relationships of serological markers of HBV and HTLV-1. RESULTS Seven hundred and forty individual patients were found to be serologically positive for HTLV-1 in the Northern Territory over the 8-year period. Hepatitis B results were available for 521 of these patients. Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) positivity was demonstrated in 15.9% (83/521) of this cohort, which was significantly different to the HTLV-1-negative group (3.7%, 125/3354) (p<0.001). Excluding individuals with isolated hepatitis B surface antibody (anti-HBs), those in the HTLV-1-positive group had a higher HBV exposure history (67.5%, 352/521) when compared to HTLV-1-negative individuals (37.8%, 1259/3354) (p<0.001). HTLV-1-positive individuals had a lower prevalence of HBV combined anti-HBs and hepatitis B core antibody (anti-HBc) positive markers compared to those who were HTLV-1-negative (56.3% (198/352) versus 73.8% (937/1269), respectively; p<0.001). CONCLUSIONS A significantly higher prevalence rate of HBV was found in HTLV-1-positive individuals from the Northern Territory. When considering the higher exposure to HBV in HTLV-1-positive individuals, the clearance of HBV appears lower than in those individuals testing HTLV-1-negative. A lower prevalence of clearance in HTVL-1-positive individuals than in HTLV-1-negative individuals, as signified by formation of HBVcAb and HBVsAb in HTVL-1 positive individual's may equate to higher prevalence of ongoing coinfection.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Retroviruses of human T-lymphotropic viruses (HTLV-1 and HTLV-2) have been demonstrated to be endemic in the north-eastern region of Iran. This study was aimed to determine the HTLV-1 and HTLV-2 prevalence among healthy individuals in Neyshabur City during 2010-2014. METHODS A total of 8054 blood samples were collected from healthy participants in Neyshabur, North-Eastern Iran. The blood samples were screened for the presence of specific antibodies against HTLV-1 and HTLV-2 by using ELISA according to the manufacturer's instructions. RESULTS The overall seropositivity rate for HTLV-1 and HTLV-2 was found to be 6.55% (528 out of 8054) among participants. CONCLUSION Both HTLV-1 and HTLV-2 were demonstrated to be at a high rate in healthy individuals. However, a smaller number of asymptomatic carriers were found in this study, as compared to those identified in previous investigations in the city.
