Abstract
Chiral allenes self-assembly following a cooperative mechanism into a supramolecular chiral aggregate consisting of two coaxial helices: the internal helix described by the allene stack and the external helix which consist in a 4-helix described by the four allene substituents. More precisely, this supramolecular aggregate possesses six axially chiral elements within its structure-the allene, the allene stack (internal helix) and the stacks of the four allene substituents (external 4-helix)-. Interestingly, slight variations in the magnitude of the tilting degree while keeping its P- or M- orientation (internal helix) can vary the orientation of the 4-axial motifs at the external helix. Thus, while (P)-1 produces a supramolecular helix with a Θ ca. 15° (Pint) and a M1/P2/M1'/P2' orientation of the four axial motifs at the periphery, (P)-2 produces a supramolecular helix with a Θ ca. 23° (Pint) and a P1/P2/P1'/P2' orientation of the four axial motifs at the external helix. As a result, the ECD spectra and the AFM images of the (P)-1 and (P)-2 supramolecular aggregates dominated by the 1 and 1' substituents of the chiral allene indicate opposite handedness although the chirality of the building block and the orientation of the allene stack are the same.

Abstract
Self-assembling features, chiroptical activity, and spin filtering properties are reported for 2,15- and 4,13-disubstituted [6]helicenes decorated in their periphery with 3,4,5-tris(dodecyloxy)-N-(4-ethynylphenyl)benzamide moieties. The weak non-covalent interaction between these units conditions the corresponding circularly polarized luminescence and spin polarization. The self-assembly is overall weak for these [6]helicene derivatives that, despite the formation of H-bonding interactions between the amide groups present in the peripheral moieties, shows very similar chiroptical properties both in the monomeric or aggregated states. This effect could be explained by considering the steric effect that these groups could generate in the growing of the corresponding aggregate formed. Importantly, the self-assembling features also condition chiral induced spin selectivity (CISS effect), with experimental spin polarization (SP) values found between 35-40 % for both systems, as measured by magnetic-conducting atomic force microscopy (AFM) technique.

Abstract
The supramolecular polymerization of 2,11-dithia[3.3]paracyclophanes through self-complementary intermolecular and transannular amide hydrogen bonding is presented. An n → π* interaction between the amide hydrogen bonding units and the central bridging atom results from the single-point exchange of a carbon atom for a sulfur atom. This orbital donor-acceptor interaction can be strengthened by oxidizing the sulfide to a sulfone which acts to shorten the donor···acceptor distance and increase orbital overlap. Experimental signatures of the increased n → π* interaction include larger isodesmic polymerization elongation constants in solution, changes in characteristic bond stretching frequencies, and geometric/structural changes evaluated by X-ray crystallography. The experimental data are supported by extensive computational investigations of both assembling and nonassembling 2,11-dithia[3.3]paracyclophanes as well as a rationally designed model system to confirm the role of stereoelectronic effects on supramolecular polymer assembly.

Abstract
Propagation and amplification of chirality are considered to play an important role in the chemical evolution of biological homochirality. Stereochemical communications have been demonstrated to have a significant effect on the formation of chiral hierarchical structures in helical polymers, surface assemblies and supramolecular polymers. The formation of supramolecular copolymers based on chiral and achiral bichromophoric perylenediimide (PDI) dyes having a binaphtyl- and biphenyl-core-bridging unit, respectively, was investigated in terms of chiral amplification and propagation. The biphenyl-bridged PDI dye was expected to perform as a prochiral component to adopt both right- and left-handed twisting structures with the free rotation over the phenyl-phenyl linkage upon partnered with the chiral binaphtly PDI dye in the coassemblies. The coassemblies between the chiral and achiral PDI dyes with dissimilar core units demonstrated the composition dependent control in the length of supramolecular nanofibers as well as amplification of optical activity.
