Abstract
The photocatalytic conversion of solar energy to hydrogen is a promising pathway toward clean fuel production, yet it requires advancement to meet industrial-scale demands. This study demonstrates that the interface engineering of heterojunctions is a viable strategy to enhance the photocatalytic performance of CuInS2/Mo2S3. Specifically, CuInS2 nanoparticles are incorporated into Mo2S3 nanospheres via a wet impregnation technique to form an S-scheme heterojunction. This configuration facilitates directional electron transfer, optimizing electron utilization and fostering efficient photocatalytic processes. The presence of an S-scheme heterojunction in CuInS2/Mo2S3 is corroborated by in situ irradiation X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and density functional theory analyses, which confirm the directional movement of electrons at the interface of heterojunction. Comprehensive characterization of the heterojunction photocatalyst, including phase, structural, and photoelectric property assessments, reveals a significant specific surface area and light absorption capability. These attributes augment the number of active sites available in CuInS2/Mo2S3 for proton reduction reactions. This study offers a pragmatic approach for designing metal sulfide-based photocatalysts via strategic interface engineering, potentially advancing the field toward sustainable hydrogen production.

Abstract
Materials referred to as "high entropy" contain a large number of elements randomly distributed on the lattice sites of a crystalline solid, such that a high configurational entropy is presumed to contribute significantly to their formation and stability. High temperatures are typically required to achieve entropy stabilization, which can make it challenging to synthesize colloidal nanoparticles of high entropy materials. Nonetheless, strategies are emerging for the synthesis of colloidal high entropy nanoparticles, which are of interest for their synergistic properties and unique catalytic functions that arise from the large number of constituent elements and their interactions. In this Perspective, we highlight the classes of materials that have been made as colloidal high entropy nanoparticles as well as insights into the synthetic methods and the pathways by which they form. We then discuss the concept of "high entropy" within the context of colloidal materials synthesized at much lower temperatures than are typically required for entropy to drive their formation. Next, we identify and address challenges and opportunities in the field of high entropy nanoparticle synthesis. We emphasize aspects of materials characterization that are especially important to consider for nanoparticles of high entropy materials, including powder X-ray diffraction and elemental mapping with scanning transmission electron microscopy, which are among the most commonly used techniques in laboratory settings. Finally, we share perspectives on emerging opportunities and future directions involving colloidal nanoparticles of high entropy materials, with an emphasis on synthesis, characterization, and fundamental knowledge that is needed for anticipated advances in key application areas.

Abstract
Recently, high-entropy (HE) materials have attracted increasing interest in various fields due to their unique characteristics. Rare earth (RE) elements have a similar atomic radius and gradually occupied 4f orbitals, endowing them with abundant optical, electric, and magnetic properties. Furthermore, HE-RE materials exhibit good structural and thermal stability and various functional properties, emerging as an important class of HE materials, which are on the verge of rapid development. However, a comprehensive review focusing on the introduction and in-depth understanding of HE-RE materials has not been reported to date. Thus, this review endeavors to provide a comprehensive summary of the development and research status of HE-RE materials, including alloys and ceramics, ranging from their structure, synthesis, and properties to applications. In addition, some distinctive issues of HR-RE materials related to the special electronic structure of RE are also discussed. Finally, we put forward the current challenges and future development directions of HE-RE materials. We hope that this review will provide inspiration for new design ideas and valuable references in this emerging field in the future.
