Abstract
BACKGROUND Cost-utility analysis generally requires valid preference-based measures (PBMs) to assess the utility of patient health. While generic PBMs are widely used, disease-specific PBMs may capture additional aspects of health relevant for certain patient populations. This study investigates the construct and concurrent criterion validity of the cancer-specific European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) Quality of Life Utility-Core 10 dimensions (QLU-C10D) in non-small-cell lung cancer patients. METHODS We retrospectively analysed data from four multicentre LUX-Lung trials, all of which had administered the EORTC Quality of Life Questionnaire (QLQ-C30) and the EQ-5D-3L. We applied six country-specific value sets (Australia, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, and the United Kingdom) to both instruments. Criterion validity was assessed via correlations between the instruments' utility scores. Correlations of divergent and convergent domains and Bland-Altman plots investigated construct validity. Floor and ceiling effects were assessed. RESULTS The comparison of the EORTC QLU-C10D and EQ-5D-3L produced homogenous results for five of the six country tariffs. High correlations of utilities (r > 0.7) were found for all country tariffs except for the Netherlands. Moderate to high correlations of converging domain pairs (r from 0.472 to 0.718) were found with few exceptions, such as the Social Functioning-Usual Activities domain pair (max. r = 0.376). For all but the Dutch tariff, the EORTC QLU-C10D produced consistently lower utility values compared to the EQ-5D-3L (x̄ difference from - 0.082 to 0.033). Floor and ceiling effects were consistently lower for the EORTC QLU-C10D (max. 4.67% for utilities). CONCLUSIONS The six country tariffs showed good psychometric properties for the EORTC QLU-C10D in lung cancer patients. Criterion and construct validity was established. The QLU-C10D showed superior measurement precision towards the upper and lower end of the scale compared to the EQ-5D-3L, which is important when cost-utility analysis seeks to measure health change across the severity spectrum.

Abstract
The increasing burden of chronic kidney disease (CKD) on the health care system highlights the need to prioritize services and manage the use of resources efficiently. Amid these financial constraints, key decision makers must weigh the impact of an intervention or program on health care expenditure when determining the allocation of limited resources. Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) are relevant in health economic decision-making within nephrology. Health-related quality of life, a patient-reported outcome, can provide data that inform economic evaluations of treatments for patients with CKD. PROMs help determine the value of different therapies by assessing their impact on patients' daily lives beyond clinical outcomes and can help policymakers make decisions about funding and reimbursement that consider the priorities and preferences of patients. Economic evaluations often employ cost-utility analyses, which use quality-adjusted life years as a key metric. Quality-adjusted life years combine both the quality and quantity of life lived, allowing for comparison of the effectiveness of different interventions in a standardized manner. By integrating utilities derived from PROMs, these analyses quantify the benefits of CKD treatments in terms of how patients feel and function. Furthermore, PROMs contribute to quality improvement initiatives by identifying areas where patient care can be enhanced, guiding the implementation of programs that improve health-related quality of life while maintaining cost-effectiveness. In value-based financing environments, the integration of PROMs ensures that patient-centered outcomes are prioritized, leading to more effective and equitable health care delivery. In this article, we discuss the role of PROMs in economic evaluations in CKD and provide an overview of approaches for using PROMs in economic evaluations to inform decision-making in nephrology.

Patient Perspectives on Health-Related Quality of Life in Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma Treated with Car T-Cell Therapy: A Qualitative Study. Oncol Ther 2021; 10:123-141. Abstract
Introduction Chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR T) therapy offers a potentially curative option for patients with relapsed and refractory hematologic malignancies, including diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Patient-reported experiences with CAR T therapy are limited and have not been well characterized. The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore patient descriptions of key domains of health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in DLBCL patients treated with CAR T therapy. Methods A targeted literature review was initially conducted to inform the development of the interview guide comprising predetermined open-ended questions. Two focus groups were conducted with a total of 18 patients with DLBCL identified from patient advisory boards. Focus group sessions were recorded and transcribed verbatim. MAXQDA 18.2.0 qualitative data analysis software was utilized to facilitate a constant-comparative coding process to identify key concepts. Results Eight domain impairments (social functioning, emotional functioning, fatigue, physical functioning, cognitive functioning, role functioning, sleep, and pain/discomfort) were identified from the qualitative analysis and endorsed by DLBCL patients treated with CAR T. Compared with before CAR T therapy, patients reported increased impairment in every domain during or immediately after CAR T therapy. This impairment improved for each domain 6 months after CAR T therapy except for pain/discomfort. Compared with before CAR T therapy, improvement in impairment for each domain was observed 6 months after CAR T therapy except for fatigue, sleep, and pain/discomfort. Conclusion This study provides meaningful information regarding the impact of CAR T therapy on HRQoL in patients with DLBCL throughout their treatment journey. Health care professionals and investigators can utilize these data in examining existing patient-reported outcome (PRO) measures that are used in DLBCL clinical trials and to better understand the needs of DLBCL survivors.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is a life-threating complication of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) leading to high morbidity and quality of life issues. We conducted a systematic literature review on the patient reported symptom burden of chronic GVHD. AREAS COVERED English-language articles published between 2005 and November 2018 were searched using CENTRAL, EMBASE and MEDLINE. Studies that used the 2005 or 2015 National Institute of Health consensus criteria for the diagnosis and staging of chronic GVHD were included. EXPERT OPINION Patient reported symptom burden was widely assessed in the literature (n = 38). The Lee Chronic GVHD Symptom Scale was the most frequently used instrument (n = 28), followed by the NIH Patient-reported Symptom scores (n = 11). Association of symptom burden with clinical outcome assessment endpoints (e.g. mortality) and with quality of life measures was investigated by fairly low number of studies with limited generalizability. By systematically investigating the influencing factors of symptom burden this review helps to better understand patients' perceptions and may help improving the management and care of chronic GVHD. However, data on influencing factors was quite diverse, which indicates that specific questions identified as research gaps need to be incorporated in randomized clinical trials in a more systematic way.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Available patient-reported outcome (PRO) studies are mainly from single institution or of small sample size, and the variations across hospitals and regions were not fully analysed. A multicentre, prospective, patient-reported outcome-reconstruction and oncoplastic cohort (PRO-ROC) will be planned to assess the PROs of Chinese patients with breast cancer who will undergo breast reconstruction (BR) or oncoplastic breast-conserving surgery (OBCS). METHODS AND ANALYSIS The inclusion criteria are female patients with breast cancer aged >18 years old who will undergo BR or OBCS. This cohort will include at least 10 000 consecutive patients (about 5000 patients who will undergo BR and 5000 patients who will undergo OBCS). The exposures were surgery types: BR and OBCS regardless of the techniques and materials used. The primary endpoint will be PROs, which include BREAST-Q and quality of life (European Organisation for Research and Treatment (EORTC) Quality of Life Questionnaire Core 30 (QLQ-C30) and EORTC QoL Breast Cancer-specific version (QLQ-BR23)). All patients will be followed up to 24 months after operations. All data will be prospectively collected using an app software. Data will be analysed using SPSS and Stata software. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION This study follows the Helsinki Declaration. All patients will be asked to sign an informed consent before enrolment.
