Abstract
OBJECTIVE Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) are crucial in standardizing the management of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in adults. However, there has been insufficient evaluation of the overall quality of CPGs for adult OSA. This review aimed to comprehensively assess the overall quality of CPGs in the field of adult OSA. METHODS A systematic search was conducted on various literature databases, guideline-related databases, and academic websites from January 2013 to December 2023 to select CPGs relevant to adult OSA. The methodological and reporting quality of the eligible CPGs were thoroughly appraised by three reviewers using the AGREE II instrument and RIGHT checklist, respectively. RESULTS This review included 44 CPGs, consisting of 42 CPGs in English and 2 CPGs in Chinese. The assessment of methodological quality revealed that four domains attained an average standardized score above 60%. Among the domains, "clarity of presentation" received the highest standardized score of 85.10%, while the lowest standardized score was observed in the "rigor of development" domain with the value of 56.77%. The evaluation of reporting quality indicated an overall reporting rate of 51.30% for the eligible CPGs, with only three domains achieving an average reporting rate higher than 50%. The domain with the highest reporting rate was "basic information" at 60.61%, while the domain with the lowest reporting rate was "review and quality assurance" at 15.91%. Furthermore, a significantly positive correlation was found between the AGREE II standardized scores and the RIGHT reporting rates (r = 0.808, P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS The overall quality of the currently available guidelines for adult OSA demonstrated considerable variability. Researchers should prioritize the utilization of evidence-based methods and adhere to the items listed in the RIGHT checklist when developing CPGs to enhance efficient clinical decision-making and promote the translation of evidence into practice.

Abstract
PURPOSE The aim of this study is to rigorously assess the methodological quality of published clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) related to nutrition among colorectal cancer patients, to compile consensus recommendations, and to evaluate the quality of the included CPGs. METHODS The systematic search covered eight electronic databases, two relevant professional association websites, and six guideline websites from their inception up to January 22, 2023. The methodological quality of the eligible guidelines was evaluated using the Appraisal of Guidelines Research and Evaluation II (AGREE II) instrument, and then, consensus recommendations were synthesized. The scores for each domain were expressed as the mean ± standard deviation (SD). Using the mean score as the benchmark for comparison, they were subsequently ranked from highest to lowest. The included guidelines were then categorized as having "high," "moderate," or "low" quality based on their scores. RESULTS The literature search yielded ten guidelines. The findings indicated that the "Clarity of presentation" domain had the highest mean score (65.2 ± 7.7). This demonstrates how the guidelines effectively articulate recommendations. Additionally, the "Scope and purpose" domain achieved a mean score of 60.7 ± 10.9, followed by "Rigor of development" (51.7 ± 15.7), "Editorial independence" (51.1 ± 21), "Stakeholder involvement" (48 ± 16.8), and "Applicability" domains (47.5 ± 17.3). Two CPGs received an overall rating of "high quality" and were recommended; four CPGs received an overall rating of "moderate" and were recommended with modifications; and four CPGs received an overall rating of "low quality" and were not recommended. Furthermore, this study compiled twenty consensus recommendations related to nine distinct clinical issues. CONCLUSION This study identified disparities in the methodological quality of the included CPGs, particularly in the "Applicability" domain, thus emphasizing the need for advancement in clinical feasibility and implementation. Notably, there is few guidelines specifically targeting colorectal cancer nutrition. These synthesized findings provided an intuitive, convenient, and comprehensive reference for evaluating nutrition among colorectal cancer patients. When applying these results, users should make careful decisions based on their specific situations.

Abstract
Objective To evaluate the quality of clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) for nutrition management of patients with head and neck cancer (HNC) during peri-radiotherapy, as well as to summarize the nutrition recommendations fitting the subject. Methods CPGs published in English, Chinese and German were identified from databases, guideline networks, and websites of nutritional associations from the databases' inception to March 8, 2022. Three independent appraisers used the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation II (AGREE II) Instrument to assess the quality of CPGs. The intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) was used to calculate appraiser agreement. Results 769 records were identified. After removing duplicates, 470 articles were screened. 12 CPGs were identified with nutrition-specific recommendations. 67% of CPGs were rated as high quality, and 33% as low quality. Recommendations were categorized into nutritional risk screening, nutrition assessment, nutrition counseling, nutrition interventions, nutrition intake, swallowing function management, weight management, exercise, multidisciplinary team, post-discharge care, nutrients, and pharmacologic interventions. Conclusion We found discrepant recommendations in existing CPGs, including nutrition screening, nutrition assessment, nutrition intake, and nutrients. We also reported the absence of essential parts of CPGs, including the views of its target users, the statement of external review, the method to formulate the recommendations, strategies to improve uptake, and resource implications of applying the CPGs. CPGs with low quality should be improved in future updates based on currently available guideline development tools. Specialized CPGs on nutrition management for HNC patients during peri-radiotherapy should be developed. Abstract
PURPOSE This study aimed to evaluate and analyze the methodological quality of the published clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) for perinatal bereavement care and provide a reference for implementing best clinical practices. METHODS We performed a systematic and comprehensive search in five electronic databases (PubMed, The Cochrane Library, Web of Science, CNKI, Wan Fang Database), eight guideline databases, and six websites of professional organizations from March 2021 to June 2021. Four researchers used the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation (AGREE II) instrument to appraise the selected CPGs independently. The inter-rater reliability of AGREE II domains was calculated using the intraclass correlation coefficient with 95% CI. RESULTS We included a total of 8 CPGs. The mean scores of six domains ranged from the lowest score of 46.61% (editorial independence) to the highest score of 87.85% (clarity of presentation). Subgroup analysis showed no statistical difference. Each domain achieved "good" and "very good" intraclass reliability. Two CPGs were deemed as grade A (strongly recommended), five were rated as grade B (recommended with modifications), and one was evaluated as grade C (not recommended). CONCLUSIONS Healthcare professionals in obstetrics and neonatology play an important role in helping bereaved parents and families to cope with perinatal loss. High-quality CPGs for perinatal bereavement care can serve as useful resources to improve the quality and outcomes of clinical practice. More efforts should be made to disseminate the best practices for perinatal bereavement care. When implementing GCPs in countries or regions with different backgrounds, professional translations, strict validations, and cultural adaptations should be taken into account.

Abstract
Objective This study aimed to assess the quality of the clinical practice guidelines on psychological distress among cancer patients and provide users with recommendations for coping with psychological distress. Methods A systematic search of relevant clinical practice guidelines was undertaken to identify and select the clinical practice guidelines related to psychological distress among cancer patients. Literature databases were searched in PubMed, Web of Science, Excerpta Medica Database, the Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health Literature, China Biology Medicine, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, WanFang and Weipu Journal Database. The guideline databases include Yimaitong Guidelines Network, National Guideline Clearinghouse, National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence, American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), New Zealand Guidelines Group, Scottish Intercollegiate GuidelinesNetwork, American Psychological Association, Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario and Cancer Care Ontario (CCO). Four independent reviewers assessed the eligible guidelines using the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation (AGREE II) instrument. Results Six clinical practice guidelines were included and assessed for critical evaluation. The median score for the scope and purpose domain was 71.5% (IQR 64%-77.25%), the stakeholder involvement domain was 65% (IQR 47.5%-74.5%), the rigour of the development domain was 61.5% (IQR 45.5%-85.25%), the clarity of the presentation domain was 91% (IQR 72.25%-94.5%), the applicability domain was 70% (IQR 33%-78.75%), and the editorial independence domain was 48.84% (IQR 61.75%-95%). Four guidelines (ASCO, 2014; Canadian Association of Psychosocial Oncology, 2015; NCCN, 2020, and CCO, 2016) were classified as "recommended," and the remaining (European Palliative Care Research Collaborative and Chinese Psychosocial Oncology Society) were "recommended with modifications," especially in the domains of Stakeholder involvement, rigour of development, and applicability. The inter-rater consistency of each domain showed moderate level (0.52-0.90) analyzing by intraclass correlation. Conclusions The clinical practice guidelines on psychological distress among cancer patients varied in quality, and there were discrepancies in terms of the recommendations and recommendation grades. These findings could contribute to improving the quality of clinical practice guidelines on psychological distress, and enable the development and implementation of evidence-based guidelines for cancer patients. Abstract
Objectives To assess the quality of clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) of ostomy care, and to analyze the status quo and challenges of guideline development. Methods CPGs of ostomy care were systematically searched in relevant guideline websites and electronic databases, including PubMed, ProQuest, Web of Science, CNKI, VIP, WANFANG, and SinoMed, from January 1, 2012, to November 24, 2021. Two appraisers used the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation, 2nd edition (AGREE II) instrument to assess the quality of the included CPGs independently and objectively. The consistency of assessment was calculated using intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC). Results A total of 5 CPGs relevant to ostomy care were assessed by AGREE II and the general quality of them was good. There were two CPGs of grade A and three CPGs of grade B. The domain scope and purpose (87.78%) had the highest scores, followed by the clarity of presentation (87.22%), the rigor of development (69.17%), stakeholder involvement (68.33%), and editorial independence (65.00%), and the lowest was applicability (55.42%). The overall assessment score was 5.40. All the ICCs for the AGREE II appraisal conducted by the two appraisers were >0.75. Conclusions The five CPGs of ostomy care have the potential to be adopted in clinical practice. However, they still have some room for improvement, especially in the applicability domain. The development of ostomy care CPGs should follow the evidence-based progress and methodology of guideline formulation specifications while considering the effects of the CPGs and the practical issues.

Abstract
Background A recent systematic review, which used the GRADE methodology, concluded that there is strong evidence for two gene-diet associations related to omega-3 and plasma triglyceride (TG) responses. Systematic reviews can be used to inform the development of clinical practice guidelines (CPGs). Objective To provide guidance for clinical practice related to genetic testing for evaluating responsiveness to dietary/supplemental omega-3s and their impact on plasma lipids/lipoproteins/apolipoproteins. Design Using the results of the abovementioned systematic review, the first CPGs in nutrigenetics were developed using the established GRADE methodology and AGREE II approach. Results Three clinical practice recommendations were developed. Most gene-diet associations identified in the literature lack adequate scientific and clinical validity to warrant consideration for implementing in a practice setting. However, two gene-diet associations with strong evidence (GRADE quality: moderate and high) can be considered for implementation into clinical practice in certain cases: male APOE-E4 carriers (rs429358, rs7412) and TG changes in response to the omega-3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and/or docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) as well as a 31-SNP nutrigenetic risk score and TG changes in response to EPA+DHA among adults with overweight/obesity. Ethical and regulatory implications must be considered when providing APOE nutrigenetic tests given the well-established link between APOE genetic variation and Alzheimer's Disease. Conclusion Most of the evidence in this area is not ready for implementation into clinical practice primarily due to low scientific validity (low quality of evidence). However, the first CPGs in nutrigenetics have been developed for two nutrigenetic associations with strong scientific validity, related to dietary/supplemental omega-3 and TG responses.
