Abstract
An electrochemical aptasensor was prepared for the efficient, sensitive, and selective detection of 17β-estradiol. The sensor was based on a defective two-dimensional porphyrin-based metal-organic framework derived from V2CTx MXene. The resulting metal-organic framework nanosheets benefited from the advantages of V2CTx MXene nanosheets and porphyrin-based metal-organic framework, two-dimensional porphyrin-based metal-organic framework nanosheets demonstrated amplified electrochemical response and enhanced aptamer-immobilization ability compared with V2CTx MXene nanosheets. The sensor's detection limit was ultralow at 0.81 fg mL-1 (2.97 fM), and the 17β-estradiol concentration range was wide, thereby outperforming most reported aptasensors. The high selectivity, superior stability and reproducibility, and excellent regeneration performance of the constructed aptasensor indicated its remarkable potential application for 17β-estradiol determination in diverse real samples. This aptasensing strategy can be used to analyze other targets by replacing the corresponding aptamer.

Abstract
Recently, human industrial practices and certain activities have caused the widespread spread of emerging contaminants throughout the environmental matrix, even in trace amounts, which constitute a serious threat to human health and environmental ecology, and have therefore attracted the attention of research scholars. Different traditional techniques are used to monitor water pollutants, However, they still have some disadvantages such as high costs, ecological problems and treatment times, and require technicians and researchers to operate them effectively. There is therefore an urgent need to develop simple, inexpensive and highly sensitive methods to sense and detect these toxic environmental contaminants. Optical fiber microfluidic coupled sensors offer different advantages over other detection technologies, allowing manipulation of light through controlled microfluidics, precise detection results and good stability, and have therefore become a logical device for screening and identifying environmental contaminants. This paper reviews the application of fiber optic microfluidic sensors in emerging environmental contaminant detection, focusing on the characteristics of different emerging contaminant types, different types of fiber optic microfluidic sensors, methodological principles of detection, and specific emerging contaminant detection applications. The optical detection methods in fiber optic microfluidic chips and their respective advantages and disadvantages are analyzed in the discussion. The applications of fiber optic biochemical sensors in microfluidic chips, especially for the detection of emerging contaminants in the aqueous environment, such as personal care products, endocrine disruptors, and perfluorinated compounds, are reviewed. Finally, the prospects of fiber optic microfluidic coupled sensors in environmental detection and related fields are foreseen.

Abstract
An electrochemical aptasensor is reported for the sensitive and specific monitoring of 17β-estradiol (E2) based on the modification of electrodeposited poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT)-graphene oxide (GO) coupled with Au@Pt nanocrystals (Au@Pt). With excellent conductivity, chemical stability and active sites, the PEDOT-GO nanocomposite film was firstly in situ polymerized on the glassy carbon electrode by cyclic voltammetry. Subsequently, one-step synthesized Au@Pt were decorated on the conductive polymer, providing a platform for immobilizing the aptamer and enhancing the detecting sensitivity. With the addition of E2, since the interfacial electron transfer process was retarded by the E2-aptamer complex, the differential pulse voltammetry signal decreased gradually. Under optimum conditions, the calibration curve of E2 exhibited a linear range between 0.1 pM and 1 nM, with a low detection limit (S/N = 3) of 0.08 pM. The developed aptasensor showed admiring selectivity, stability, and reproducibility. It was tested in human serum, lake water and tap water samples after low-cost and simple pretreatment. Consequently, the developed platform could provide a new design thought for ultrasensitive detection of E2 in clinical and environmental samples.

Abstract
As an important kind of environmental endocrine disruptors, 17 β -Estradiol (E2) plays a major role in affecting the growth of human including sexual characters, pregnancy system, etc. In the modern society, with the threat of abuse in breeding, it is imperative to design sensitive methods for detecting low concentration of E2 in environment. In this work, we constructed a highly sensitive and simple fluorescent aptasenor for detecting E2 via amplification of hybridization chain reaction (HCR) and horseradish peroxidase (HRP). Through the competitions between complementary strand (cmDNA) and E2 to E2 aptamer modified on magnetic beads, the unbound cmDNA would be collected and captured by polystyrene microspheres to induce HCR which brought abundant biotin sites. Subsequently, benefit from the excellent catalytic performance of streptavidin-horseradish peroxidase (SA-HRP), the highly sensitive fluorescence signals could be obtained in low concentration of E2. Under the optimal conditions, the prospered method for E2 detection was shown a good liner range from 1 to 100 pg/mL, with the lower detecting limit of 0.2 pg/mL compared with previous work. In addition, the recovery rates tested in the real samples of milk and water were 99.20%-108.06% and 91.07%-106.13%. In all, the assay may provide a perspective way for highly sensitive detection for various contaminants in the real samples.

Abstract
Consistent exposure to 17β-estradiol through drinking water and food can cause health problems. Although many simple and sensitive fluorescence sensors of 17β-estradiol have been reported, most of them are based on fluorescence quenching test mode working in visible light range, which are inferior in anti-interference ability and quantitative range. Here, we developed a near-infrared (NIR) phosphorescence aptasensor for the detection of 17β-estradiol that has no background fluorescence. The aptasensor was based on Foster resonance energy transfer (FRET) between aptamer conjugated NIR persistent luminescence nanoparticles (PLNPs-Apt) and MoS2 nanosheets. The 17β-estradiol was quantified by the recovery of PLNPs' phosphorescence. This assay can detect 17β-estradiol in 0.5 mL samples with the LOD of 0.29 ng mL-1 and in concentrations of more than three orders of magnitude (from 0.5 ng mL-1 to 1.2 μg mL-1). This aptasensor exhibited selectivity for 17β-estradiol and was applicable in complex milk samples.

An electrochemiluminescence sensor for 17β-estradiol detection based on resonance energy transfer in α-FeOOH@CdS/Ag NCs. Talanta 2021; 221:121479. Abstract
An electrochemiluminescence (ECL) resonance energy transfer system is constructed for 17β-estradiol (E2) detection using α-FeOOH@CdS nanospheres as the ECL-active substrates and Ag NCs as an efficient quencher. CdS QDs loaded onto three-dimensional (3D) urchin-like α-FeOOH nanospheres (α-FeOOH@CdS nanospheres) exhibited excellent ECL responses, which is attributed to dual-amplification of α-FeOOH frameworks. The 3D hierarchical structure of the α-FeOOH nanospheres provided abundant sites for loading ECL-active species, thus significantly improving the ECL performance of substrates; While Fe3+ presented on surface of α-FeOOH nanospheres could be reduced to Fe2+ in negative potentials, after which might activate persulfate in a Fenton-like process, resulting in more sulfate free radicals for more effective ECL responses via electron transfer reactions. Additionally, Ag nanoclusters (Ag NCs) stabilized by single stranded oligonucleotide were introduced as quenching probes for CdS QDs owing to the well-matched donor-acceptor spectrum for efficient energy transfer, which makes them appropriate for detection of E2. The proposed strategy displayed a desirable dynamic range from 0.01 to 10 pg mL-1 with a limit of detection of 0.003 pg mL-1. The proposed strategy based on the ECL-RET strategy offered an ideal way for E2 detection, and also revealed an alternative platform for detection of other small molecules.
