Abstract
Group 11 thin films are desirable as interconnects in microelectronics. Although many M-N-bonded Cu precursors have been explored for vapor deposition, there is currently a lack of suitable Ag and Au derivatives. Herein, we present monovalent Cu, Ag, and Au 1,3-di-tert-butyltriazenides that have potential for use in vapor deposition. Their thermal stability and volatility rival that of current state-of-the-art group 11 precursors with bidentate M-N-bonded ligands. Solution-state thermolysis of these triazenides yielded polycrystalline films of elemental Cu, Ag, and Au. The compounds are therefore highly promising as single-source precursors for vapor deposition of coinage metal films.

Abstract
Dinuclear gold(I) compounds are of great interest due to their aurophilic interactions that influence their photophysical properties. Herein, we showcase that gold-gold interactions can be influenced by tuning the electronic properties of the ligands. Therefore, various para substituted (R) N,N'-bis(2,6-dimethylphenyl)formamidinate ligands (pRXylForm; Xyl = 2,6-dimethylphenyl and Form = formamidinate) were treated with Au(tht)Cl (tht = tetrahydrothiophene) to give via salt metathesis the corresponding gold(I) compounds [pRXylForm2Au2] (R = -OMe, -Me, -Ph, -H, -SMe, and -CO2Me). All complexes showed intense luminescence properties at low temperatures. Alignment with the Hammett parameter σp revealed the trends in the 1H and 13C NMR spectra. These results showed the influence of the donor-acceptor abilities of different substituents on the ligand system which were confirmed with calculated orbital energies. Photophysical investigations showed their lifetimes in the millisecond range indicating phosphorescence processes and revealed a redshift with the decreasing donor ability of the substituents in the solid state.

Abstract
The synthesis of linear symmetric ethynyl- and acetylide-amidinates of the coinage metals is presented. Starting with the desilylation of the complexes [{Me3 SiC≡CC(NDipp)2 }2 M2 ] (Dipp=2,6-diisopropylphenyl) (M=Cu, Au) it is demonstrated that this compound class is suitable to serve as a versatile metalloligand. Deprotonation with n-butyllithium and subsequent salt metathesis reactions yield symmetric tetranuclear gold(I) acetylide complexes of the form [{(PPh3 )AuC≡CC(NDipp)2 }2 M2 ] (M=Cu, Au). The corresponding Ag complex [{(PPh3 )AuC≡CC(NDipp)2 }2 Ag2 ] was obtained by a different route via metal rearrangement. All compounds show bright blue or blue-green microsecond long phosphorescence in the solid state, hence their photophysical properties were thoroughly investigated in a temperature range of 20-295 K. Emission quantum yields of up to 41 % at room temperature were determined. Furthermore, similar emissions with quantum yields of 15 % were observed for the two most brightly luminescent complexes in thf solution.

Abstract
Carboxamidines functionalized with either a spiropyran or fulgimide photoswitch were prepared on multigram scales. The thermal, electrochemical, and photochemical ring isomerizations of these compounds were studied and the results compared with related systems. The photochemical isomerisations were found to be reversible and could be followed by 1H NMR and UV-vis spectroscopy. The spiropyran/merocyanine couple was thermally active and an activation enthalpy of 116 kJ mol-1 was measured for ring-opening. These measurements yielded an enthalpy difference of 25 kJ mol-1 between the open and closed states which is consistent with DFT calculations. DFT calculations predicted a charge transfer to the carboxamidine group upon ring closure in the fulgimide and a charge transfer from the carboxamidine group upon switching the spiropyran to the merocyanine form. This was confirmed experimentally by monitoring the change in the oxidation potential assigned to the carboxamidine group. The potential of these molecules to therefore act as a new class of photoresponsive ligands that can modulate the ligand field of a complex is discussed.

Abstract
There is now compelling experimental evidence for the existence of specific intra- and intermolecular bonding between seemingly closed-shell gold(I) centers (5d10) which manifests itself in all areas of gold chemistry. This "aurophilic interaction", which had not been predicted by conventional valence theory, was found to be associated with binding energies in some cases exceeding even those of strong hydrogen bonds and therefore to be highly significant in co-determining molecular structure and dynamics. In high-level theoretical treatments the attraction is rationalized as a "super van der Waals bonding" based on particularly strong relativistic, dispersion and correlation effects (critical review, 265 references).
