Synthesis of Cherry Stalk Extract Based Organic@Inorganic Hybrid Nanoflowers as a Novel Fenton Reagent: Evaluation of Their Antioxidant, Catalytic, and Antimicrobial Activities

Parazoanthus axinellae Extract Incorporated Hybrid Nanostructure and Its Potential Antimicrobial Activity

This study, it was aimed to examine the change in the antimicrobial effect of sea anemone Parazoanthus axinellae extract by forming its nanoflowers. A scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) were expended to observe the morphologies of the Cu NFs that had been produced. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques were expended to analyze the managing assemblies in P. axinellae extract, which perform an effective part in the synthesis routine, as well as the crystal assembly of NFs. P. axinellae extract mediated the HNFs (Hybrid nanoflowers) are at high, pure crystalline nature, flower shape with a crystallographic system at the nanoscale with mean crystallite size 21.9 nm using XRD, and average particle size ~10 nm by SEM. The broad absorption band at 2981-2915 cm-1 in the FT-IR spectra of anemone extract and Cu-anemone NFs represents the unique peak of hydroxy groups. In addition, Cu NFs were tested for their antibacterial properties. Cu NFs have been discovered to exhibit antibacterial properties. It is suggested that P. axinellae extract and various inorganic components be used to synthesize a variety of NFs and assess their suitability for usage in biomedical fields.

Facile Synthesis of Hybrid Nanoflowers Using Glycine and Phenylalanine and Investigation of Their Catalytic Activity

In the context of the proposed work, two different amino acids (Glycine, Phenylalanine) have interacted with copper ions in a phosphate buffer (PBS) in place of enzymes. This interaction resulted in the nucleation of copper phosphate crystals and the formation of flower-shaped amino acid-copper hybrid nanostructures (AA-hNFs), which grew through self-assembly. While Cu (II) ions in the structure of AA-hNFs were used as Fenton's agent for the catalytic activity. SEM, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy measurements were used to define the AA-hNFs' characterisation. The peroxidase-like activities of AA-hNFs were investigated by UV/VIS spectrophotometer. Metal nanoparticles have peroxidase-like activity. A class of enzymes known as peroxidases is able to catalyze the conversion of hydrogen peroxide into hydroxyl radicals. These radicals also take part in electron transfers with substrates, which results in color during oxidation. When cupric oxide nanoparticles are added to the peroxidase substrate while H2 O2 is present, a blue color product with a maximum absorbance at=652 nm can result, demonstrating the catalytic activity of a peroxidase. The morphology and composition of AA-hNFs were carefully characterized and the synthesized parameters were optimized systematically. Results showed that the nanoparticles were dispersed with an average diameter of 7-9 μm and indicated a uniform flower shape. The results of the investigation are anticipated to significantly advance a number of technical and scientific sectors.

A comparative study of iron nanoflower and nanocube in terms of antibacterial properties

It is known that heavy metal containing nanomaterials can easily prevent the formation of microbial cultures. The emergence of new generation epidemic diseases in the last 2 years has increased the importance of both personal and environmental hygiene. For this reason, in addition to preventing the spread of diseases, studies on alternative disinfectant substances are also carried out. In this study, the antibacterial activity of nanoflower and nanocube, which are easily synthesized and nanoparticle species containing iron, were compared. The antioxidant abilities of new synthesized NF@FeO(OH) and NC@α-Fe2O3 were tested by DPPH scavenging activity assay. The highest DPPH inhibition was achieved with NC@α-Fe2O3 as 71.30% at 200 mg/L. NF@FeO(OH) and NC@α-Fe2O3 demonstrated excellent DNA cleavage ability. The antimicrobial capabilities of NF@FeO(OH) and NC@α-Fe2O3 were analyzed with micro dilution procedure. In 500 mg/L, the antimicrobial activity was 100%. In addition to these, the biofilm inhibition of NF@FeO(OH) and NC@α-Fe2O3 were investigated against S. aureus and P. aeruginosa and it was found that they showed significant antibiofilm inhibition. It is suggested that additional studies can be continued to be developed and used as an antibacterial according to the results of the nanoparticles after various toxicological test systems.

N-acylhomoserine lactonase-based hybrid nanoflowers: a novel and practical strategy to control plant bacterial diseases

BACKGROUND

The disease caused by plant pathogenic bacteria in the production, transportation, and storage of many crops has brought huge losses to agricultural production. N-acylhomoserine lactonases (AHLases) can quench quorum-sensing (QS) by hydrolyzing acylhomoserine lactones (AHLs), which makes them the promising candidates for controlling infections of QS-dependent pathogenic bacteria. Although many AHLases have been isolated and considered as a potentially effective preventive and therapeutic agents for bacterial diseases, the intrinsically poor ambient stability has seriously restricted its application.

RESULTS

Herein, we showed that a spheroid enzyme-based hybrid nanoflower (EHNF), AhlX@Ni₃(PO₄)₂, can be easily synthesized, and it exhibited 10 times AHL (3OC8-HSL) degradation activity than that with free AhlX (a thermostable AHL lactonase). In addition, it showed intriguing stability even at the working concentration, and retained ~ 100% activity after incubation at room temperature (25 °C) for 40 days and approximately 80% activity after incubation at 60 °C for 48 h. Furthermore, it exhibited better organic solvent tolerance and long-term stability in a complicated ecological environment than that of AhlX. To reduce the cost and streamline production processes, CSA@Ni₃(PO₄)₂, which was assembled from the crude supernatants of AhlX and Ni₃(PO₄)₂, was synthesized. Both AhlX@Ni₃(PO₄)₂ and CSA@Ni₃(PO₄)₂ efficiently attenuated pathogenic bacterial infection.

CONCLUSIONS

In this study, we have developed N-acylhomoserine lactonase-based hybrid nanoflowers as a novel and efficient biocontrol reagent with significant control effect, outstanding environmental adaptability and tolerance. It was expected to overcome the bottlenecks of poor stability and limited environmental tolerance that have existed for over two decades and pioneered the practical application of EHNFs in the field of biological control.
