Abstract
BACKGROUND People of all nationalities and social classes are now affected by the growing issue of hypertension. Over time, there has been a consistent rise in the fatality rate. A range of therapeutic compounds, on the other hand, are often used to handle hypertension. OBJECTIVES The objectives of this study are first to design potential antihypertensive drugs based on the DHP scaffold, secondly, to analyse drug-likeness properties of the ligands and investigate their molecular mechanisms of binding to the model protein Cav1.2 and finally to synthesise the best ligand. MATERIALS AND METHODS Due to the lack of 3D structures for human Cav1.2, the protein structure was modelled using a homology modelling approach. A protein-ligand complex's strength and binding interaction were investigated using molecular docking and molecular dynamics techniques. DFT-based electronic properties of the ligand were calculated using the M06-2X/ def2- TZVP level of theory. The SwissADME website was used to study the ADMET properties. RESULTS In this study, a series of DHP compounds (19 compounds) were properly designed to act as calcium channel blockers. Among these compounds, compound 16 showed excellent binding scores (-11.6 kcal/mol). This compound was synthesised with good yield and characterised. To assess the structural features of the synthesised molecule quantum chemical calculations were performed. CONCLUSION Based on molecular docking, molecular dynamics simulations, and drug-likeness properties of compound 16 can be used as a potential calcium channel blocker.

Graphene oxide immobilized 2-morpholinoethanamine as a versatile acid-base catalyst for synthesis of some heterocyclic compounds and molecular docking study. Sci Rep 2023; 13:17966. Abstract
In this study, a new heterogeneous catalyst was synthesized based on graphene oxide (GO) as a natural material. On the surface of nanosheet graphene oxide, 2-Morpholinoethanamine was immobilized using a non-toxic, green, and simple method. This resulted in the preparation of a bifunctional acid-base nanocatalyst. The synthesized composite was fully characterized using various methods, including Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), mapping, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffractometry (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and CHN elemental analysis. The catalytic reactivity of GO-mor was investigated in the one-pot synthesis of some benzo[b]pyran, pyrano[3,2-c]chromene, and polyhydroquinoline derivatives, yielding good efficiency and short reaction times. In addition, several recent studies have shown that some derivatives of pyran, chromene, and quinoline have remarkable anti COVID activity. Particularly, COVID-19 3CLpro/Mpro is considered a potential target for the treatment of this virus. For this purpose, docking models were constructed using the corresponding crystal structures with the synthesized derivatives. Based on the docking score and similarity of the binding mode to remdesivir and elvitegravir (the only approved drugs for the treatment of COVID-19), A2, B1, and C4 were selected as promising candidates for further research.

Abstract
The field of cascade cyclization for the construction of 1,4-dihydropyridines (1,4-DHPs) has been continuously expanding during the last decades because of their broad-spectrum biological and synthetic importance. To date, many methods have been developed, mainly including the Hantzsch reaction, Hantzsch-like reaction and newly developed cascade cyclization, in which various synthons have been successively developed as C4 sources of 1,4-DHPs. This review presents the cascade cyclization synthesis strategy for the construction of 1,4-DHPs according to various C4 sources from carbonyl compounds, alkenyl fragments, alcohols, aliphatic amines, glycines and other C4 sources.

Abstract
In this work, D-(-)-α-phenylglycine (APG)-functionalized magnetic nanocatalyst (Fe3O4@SiO2@PTS-APG) was designed and successfully prepared in order to implement the principles of green chemistry for the synthesis of polyhydroquinoline (PHQ) and 1,4-dihydropyridine (1,4-DHP) derivatives under ultrasonic irradiation in EtOH. After preparing of the nanocatalyst, its structure was confirmed by different spectroscopic methods or techniques including Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). The performance of Fe3O4@SiO2@PTS-APG nanomaterial, as a heterogeneous catalyst for the Hantzsch condensation, was examined under ultrasonic irradiation and various conditions. The yield of products was controlled under various conditions to reach more than 84% in just 10 min, which indicates the high performance of the nanocatalyst along with the synergistic effect of ultrasonic irradiation. The structure of the products was identified by melting point as well as FTIR and 1H NMR spectroscopic methods. The Fe3O4@SiO2@PTS-APG nanocatalyst is easily prepared from commercially available, lower toxic and thermally stable precursors through a cost-effective, highly efficient and environmentally friendly procedure. The advantages of this method include simplicity of the operation, reaction under mild conditions, the use of an environmentally benign irradiation source, obtaining pure products with high efficiency in short reaction times without using a tedious path, which all of them address important green chemistry principles. Finally, a reasonable mechanism is proposed for the preparation of polyhydroquinoline (PHQ) and 1,4-dihydropyridine (1,4-DHP) derivatives in the presence of Fe3O4@SiO2@PTS-APG bifunctional magnetic nanocatalyst.

Abstract
In this work, we reported the synthesis and application of a new urea-benzoic acid containing ligand [(OEt)3Si(CH2)3-urea-benzoic acid] for the functionalization of silica coated magnetic nanoparticles. The resulting structure, namely Fe3O4@SiO2@(CH2)3-urea-benzoic acid, was characterized through different techniques including FT-IR, SEM, EDX-Mapping, VSM and TGA/DTG analysis. Then, Fe3O4@SiO2@(CH2)3-urea-benzoic acid was applied as a heterogeneous dual acidic and hydrogen bonding catalyst for the synthesis of 2,3-disubstituted thiazolidin-4-ones and hexahydroquinolines under mild and green reaction conditions. More importantly, all of the desired products were obtained with relatively good yields. Also, the catalyst was recovered and reused for four successive runs without significant reduction in yield of the model reaction.

Abstract
Abstract
Saccharomyces cerevisiae, commonly known as baker’s yeast, has gained significant importance as a mild, low-cost, environmentally benign biocatalyst. Initially it was mostly employed as an efficient catalyst for the enantioselective reduction of carbonyl compounds. Over the last decade, baker’s yeast has found versatile catalytic applications in various organic transformations. Many multicomponent reactions were also catalyzed by baker’s yeast. Various heterocyclic scaffolds with immense biological activities were synthesized by employing baker’s yeast as catalyst at room temperature. In this communication, we have summarized baker’s yeast catalyzed various organic transformations focusing primarily on heterocyclic synthesis.

Abstract
Urease, a nickel-dependent enzyme, has a powerful catalytic activity to decompose urea into ammonia via hydrolysis reaction under mild condition. In the present work, urease was employed for the synthesis of two series of polyhydroquinoline and polyhydroacridine derivatives via one-pot condensation of the ammonia generated in situ from urea, aryl aldehydes, and dimedone or ethyl acetoacetate (i.e., Hantzsch-type reaction) in water under mild green condition. The valuable features of this enzymatic method are mild reaction conditions, short reaction times, wide substrate toleration, and high yield of products. The present work provides a novel enzymatic catalysis to synthesize polyhydroquinolines and polyhydroacridines and expands the application of urease in organic synthesis.

Abstract
Nanocellulose (NC) is a biomaterial with growing interest in the field of nanocomposites and sustainable materials. NC has various applications including biodegradable materials, reinforcing agents, packaging films, transpiring membranes and medical devices. Among the many applications, the use of NC functionalized with organic and inorganic groups has found wide use as a catalyst in chemical transformations. The goal of this review is to collect the current knowledge on its catalytic applications for chemical groups conversion. We have chosen to organize the manuscript according to subdivision of NC into Bacterial Nanocellulose (BNC), Cellulose Nanocrystals (CNCs), and Cellulose Nanofibers (CNFs) and their role as inorganic- and organic-functionalized NC-catalysts in organic synthesis. However, in consideration of the fact that the literature on this field is very extensive, we have decided to focus our attention on the scientific productions of the last five years.

Abstract
β-Cyclodextrin, a green and widespread supramolecular catalyst, has been explored as a highly proficient promoter for the metal-free one-pot multi-component synthesis of a vast range of highly functionalized bioactive heterocyclic moiety, 2-amino-4,6-diphenylnicotinonitriles and 2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-one, from easily available precursor aldehydes. The main endeavor of these protocols is to explore this organic supramolecule in one-pot multi-component synthesis. Absence of metal catalyst or toxic acid and harsh reaction conditions, excellent functional group tolerance, inexpensive, greener and environmentally safe protocol are the key advantages of this work.
