Abstract
PURPOSE/AIM Cerebellopontine angle (CPA) oligodendrogliomas are very rare, and only three preoperative cases have been confirmed. Secondary CPA oligodendrogliomas after radiation therapy are exceptionally rare, and no other cases have been reported. CASE REPORT We present a case of a 25-year-old male with CPA oligodendroglioma who experienced hearing loss in right ear with walking instability for more than 2 months. The patient underwent craniotomy in our hospital because of grade II astrocytoma of the right temporal lobe 10 years ago. Postoperative radiotherapy lasted for 30 days, and six rounds of chemotherapy were performed. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the head revealed a cystic lesion located in the right CPA. The patient underwent surgery without obvious complications, and the tumor was subtotally removed. Histopathological examination revealed a diagnosis of oligodendroglioma, World Health Organization (WHO) grade II. The patient was discharged on the tenth postoperative day with a good recovery. Two weeks after discharge, chemotherapy with temozolomide and radiotherapy were performed. The patient remained well at 8 months follow-up. CONCLUSIONS To the best of our knowledge, no other cases of secondary CPA oligodendroglioma after cranial irradiation have been reported in the literature. Compared with general oligodendroglioma, the tumor has no typical calcification and is more aggressive. The cranial nerves in the CPA area are closely adhered, and the blood supply is abnormally rich. It is difficult to completely remove the tumor. Postoperative radiotherapy and chemotherapy should be carried out as soon as possible.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The so-called radiation-induced glioma (RIG, a secondary glioma after cranial irradiation), is a serious late effect after cranial radiation therapy. The clinical characteristics of and ideal treatment for these tumors are unclear. We analyzed our case series and conducted a comprehensive literature review to reveal the precise characteristics of RIGs. METHODS We analyzed the cases of six patients with RIGs treated at our institution and 354 patients with RIGs from the literature. The latency period from irradiation to the development of each RIG and the median overall survival of the patients were subjected to Kaplan-Meier analyses. Spearman's correlation test was used to determine the relationship between age at irradiation and the latency period. RESULTS The mean age of the 360 patients at the development of RIG was 27.42 ± 17.87 years. The mean latency period was 11.35 ± 8.58 years. Multiple gliomas were observed in 28.4%. WHO grade 3 and 4 RIGs accounted for 93.3%. The latency periods were significant shorter in the higher WHO grade group (p = 0.0366) and the concomitant systemic chemotherapy group (p < 0.0001). Age at irradiation was negatively associated with the latency period (r =- 0.2287, p = 0.0219). The patients treated with radiotherapy achieved significantly longer survival compared to those treated without radiotherapy (p = 0.0011). CONCLUSIONS Development in younger age, multiplicity, and high incidence of grade 3 and 4 are the clinical characteristics of RIGs. Cranial irradiation at older ages and concomitant chemotherapy were associated with shorter latency for the development of RIG. Radiation therapy may be the feasible treatment option despite radiation-induced gliomas.

Sarcoma-like tumor originating from oligodendroglioma. Brain Tumor Pathol 2016; 33:255-260. Abstract
We present a case of sarcoma occurring at a site of resected oligodendroglioma without preceding radiotherapy or chemotherapy. Oligosarcoma occurring at sites of resected oligodendroglioma or anaplastic oligodendroglioma with sarcomatous components are rare. Although meningioma or sarcoma-like lesions are sometimes reported after glioma-targeted radiotherapy, those without preceding radiotherapy are quite rare. Moreover, cases of sarcoma without oligodendroglial components occurring at a site of resected oligodendroglioma have never been reported. In this case, fluorescent in situ hybridization analysis revealed 1p/19q co-deletion in both the first tumor and second tumors. Additionally, immunohistochemistry revealed mutated isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 in both tumors. Taken together, these findings suggest a monoclonal tumor origin. Consequently, this case may indicate a new mechanism of development of sarcomatous lesions occurring at the site of a resected glioma.

Abstract
Radiation-induced brain tumors are suggested to be the late complication of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) treatment. High-grade gliomas, meningiomas, and sarcomas are the most frequent neoplasms. Secondary anaplastic oligodendrogliomas are exceedingly rare. Five cases of pure anaplastic oligodendroglioma have been reported in the literature, and only 1 case was in a child after ALL treatment. The authors present 2 cases of pediatric anaplastic oligodendroglioma after treatment of ALL. Furthermore, they performed a molecular cytogenetic study and found loss of 1p in both cases. The authors provide a review of the previous cases and discuss their findings.

Abstract
In this case report, we describe a rare case of a 32-year-old man who presented a highly aggressive, fast growing anaplastic oligodendroglioma five years after being treated with whole brain radiotherapy for a CNS recurrence of a lymphoblastic lymphoma. Initially, the patient was submitted to a surgical intervention and partial tumor resection, which allowed us to establish the pathologic diagnosis and the presence of a 1p deletion. Shortly after the operation the tumor grew back, exerting important mass effect. Since no radiation therapy or surgery could be used and the patient faced a critical condition, chemotherapy was started with a combination of temozolomide and bevacizumab. Immediately after the first cycle a marked clinical and radiological improvement was documented.
