Abstract
OBJECTIVE Cleft-related speech concerns can affect the quality of life (QOL) in patients with cleft lip and palate (CLP). During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), in-person speech therapy (ST) was restricted due to fear of getting infected. This study aimed to compare QOL in patients with CLP with and without ST during the pandemic. DESIGN Cross-sectional Study. SETTING CLP team at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS). PATIENTS/PARTICIPANTS Thirty-six CLP subjects with a mean age of 17.33 ± 4 years participated in two groups, including with and without ST. Fifteen subjects had cleft palate only (CPO) and others had CLP. INTERVENTIONS ST group received at least 10 ST sessions, and group without ST didn't receive ST during COVID-19. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE(S) A virtual link of demographic and QOL adolescent cleft (QoLAdoCleft) questionnaires were sent to fill out. Results were extracted and transferred to SPSS. RESULTS Total and subscales' scores of QoLAdoCleft were lower in ST group than without ST but differences between them weren't statistically significant (P > .05). Furthermore, according to cleft type, there weren't any statistically significant differences in total, physical, and social subscales of QoLAdoCleft (P > .05); however, psychological subscale in CLP had a higher significant score than CPO (P < .05). CONCLUSIONS QOL was weak in all patients with CLP, and receiving/not receiving ST couldn't make noticeable differences between them. It seems; COVID-19 pandemic can have an adverse effect on these results. Also, subjects with CLP had weaker psychological than CPO due to negative psychosocial feedback related to Orofacial deformities received from society.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The COVID-19 pandemic necessitated that speech-language therapists (SLTs) make a radical change to provide services to their clients safely via telepractice. For many practitioners, telepractice was an unfamiliar mode of practice that had to be implemented under emergency conditions. Limited literature on SLTs' experiences of implementing telepractice in the Global South during this time is available. AIMS To explore the experiences of South African SLTs (N = 45) who implemented telepractice services during the COVID-19 pandemic. METHODS & PROCEDURES SLTs across the country were invited via professional bodies to participate in an online qualitative survey distributed in 2021. Data were analysed using thematic analysis principles. OUTCOMES & RESULTS We describe participants' reports of their current telepractices, discuss their perspectives on accessibility to telepractice for SLTs, clients and caregivers, and working with specific diagnoses, and consider the support needs of SLTs to enhance telepractice services. Most participants work in private practice or school settings with primarily paediatric caseloads. They reported telepractice as a positive experience and felt it was effective, although they judged that some clients were not well served by telepractice. SLTs felt underprepared for the rapid switch to telepractice and the flexibility required, especially given the limited availability of guidelines given the pandemic crisis. Greater preparation is required for telepractice sessions and more attention needs to be paid to supporting caregiver involvement online. CONCLUSIONS & IMPLICATIONS Telepractice involves various barriers and facilitators, many of which seem common across Global North and South contexts. Support is required to enhance current telepractices in terms of computer literacy, technical education, different telepractice methods and caregiver coaching. Our findings have the potential to enable the development of support, training and guidelines to improve SLTs' confidence in providing telepractice whilst delivering quality services in an accessible and safe manner. WHAT THIS PAPER ADDS What is already known on the subject Many SLTs had to transition quickly to telepractice service provision during COVID-19, with limited existing guidelines and support. Although there is some literature available on SLTs' experiences of implementing telepractice in the Global North, perspectives from the Global South during this time are limited. It is important to understand experiences, barriers and facilitators to telepractice provision to provide tailored support to practitioners. What this paper adds to existing knowledge Telepractice provides a viable alternative to in-person therapy for specific clients and contexts. Telepractice presents both benefits and barriers for effective clinical practice across Global North and South contexts. Greater preparation is required for telepractice sessions and more attention needs to be paid to enhancing caregiver involvement online, especially since many practitioners are likely to continue offering telepractice services post-pandemic. What are the potential or actual clinical implications of this work? Clinicians felt underprepared for the rapid switch from service delivery mode to telepractice. Greater support, training and guidelines for students and practitioners are required to enhance current practices and ensure practitioners are equipped to provide effective telepractice in the future. In particular, support should cover technological aspects, caregiver coaching and online assessment options, especially for paediatric clients.

Abstract
PURPOSE Digital content may increase parental access to training as well as the diversity of the training programs. YouTube videos may provide a platform from which professionals may adopt content for such programs. This study provides data regarding the clinical utility of YouTube videos about shared book reading (SBR) found on the United States (USA) and India channels. METHOD A cross-sectional analysis of videos about SBR was conducted to examine metadata, evidence-based content, understandability, and actionability. Descriptive statistics were used to analyse metadata and content. Health literacy concepts of understandability and actionability were measured, and descriptive statistics are reported. RESULT Of 800 videos identified, 10 included information related to storybook selection, dialogic reading, extra-textual strategies, and print-referencing strategies. These met adequate levels of understandability and actionability. CONCLUSION Results provide some direction and recommendations for parent-training programs in the USA and India. The study highlights the use of YouTube videos and suggests its utility as a supplement source within parent-training programs.

Abstract
Purpose This study compared the satisfaction of recipients of conventional speech-language therapy (C-SLT), speech-language teletherapy (SLTT), and hybrid speech-language therapy (H-SLT), and determined sociodemographic factors that affect their satisfaction. Patients and Methods Participants were clients and caregivers of a speech-language clinic at a public university. Services were primarily provided by student clinicians, who were undergoing supervised clinical training. An online survey was distributed, which consisted of three sections: Background Information, Overall Satisfaction in SLT, and Satisfaction in SLTT. All participants completed the first two sections, while the third section was completed only by those who experienced SLTT or H-SLT. Results Most of the respondents were caregivers (89.7%), female (79.4%), of Malay ethnicity (80.9%), have received tertiary education (77.9%), within the low-income category (66.2%), held a job (76.5%), and resided in central West Malaysia (83.8%). Many participants experienced C-SLT (51%), followed by H-SLT (34%), and SLTT (15%). There were no significant differences in the overall satisfaction of the participants across three modes of services delivery (F[2,67] = 0.02, p = 0.95), and in the satisfaction with teletherapy between the H-SLT and SLTT groups (t = 0.90, p = 0.38). Income was the only sociodemographic factor that was correlated with the satisfaction level in teletherapy (r = 0.37, p = 0.04).

Abstract
Aim: The pandemic COVID-19 led to the sudden imposition of lockdown and travel restrictions worldwide, that made tele practice one of the most viable options for various hospitals and healthcare centres. The present study aimed at exploring the parental perspective on teletherapy, for children having speech and language delay, during the covid-19 pandemic lockdown. Material & method: A total of 100 parents with children with speech and language delays and who have undergone a minimum of five teletherapy sessions at a tertiary care hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown were recruited. A questionnaire with 12 close-ended questions was administered over the phone call to know the parent's perspective on the impact of teletherapy and its benefits. The responses obtained were tabulated and calculated for percentage response to each question. Result: Around 95% of parents reported improved motivation for speech-language therapy for their child due to teletherapy during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, and 96% of parents were satisfied with receiving teletherapy services during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Furthermore, 90% of parents found teletherapy is more cost-effective than in-person therapy, but 88% believe face-to-face consultation is also required after some time (approx. after six months). Conclusion: The overall result suggested that parents had a positive attitude towards the teletherapy sessions. They reported the therapy sessions to be very effective and compliant, and it can be an efficient alternative with more structured implementation. Abstract
Outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic has affected immensely the service delivery to patients with communication disorders. Tele-rehabilitation has become a new norm for the service in the field of speech and hearing. Daily challenges in service delivery are widely being reported. The objective of study is to highlight challenges faced by Audiologists and Speech Language pathologists during tele-practice. A descriptive cross-sectional survey was carried out through a web-based questionnaire regarding challenges faced by Audiologists & Speech Language Pathologists, and their perspectives towards tele-practice was compared. Total of 18 questions were divided into three sections. Section I included questions regarding training related to tele-practice, types of cases being handled, etc. Section II comprised of questions related to tele-therapy resources and section III had questions related to evaluation and treatment by tele-mode. 118 participants (47% Postgraduate students, 29% undergraduate students and 24% Professionals) participated in the study. Only 16.1% of the clinicians were trained formally for service delivery via tele-mode. All the participants reported child language disorders, difficult to handle during sessions. Participants reported lack of evidence based tele resources for the use during their practice and also stated difficulty assessing and intervening clients via tele-mode. Results show telerehabilitation is being widely used. Challenges faced by Audiologists and Speech language pathologists are difficulty handling paediatric population, lack of evidence-based tele-resources, and difficulty in evaluation & management of the patients. Effective training regarding tele practice is the need of current scenario. Future research on developing evidence- based resources is emphasized.

Abstract
Introduction Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, tele-practice has become the new normal in the field of Speech-Language Pathology. Students and professionals throughout the country are embracing this new normal. Both groups confront problems; documentation of the problems may provide insight into how to improve tele-practice services.
Aim The purpose of this study was to compare the problems that undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and working professionals in the field of Speech-Language Pathology experience in daily practice.
Methods A descriptive cross-sectional survey study using a web-based questionnaire was conducted to examine the obstacles experienced by students and working professionals in the field of speech-language pathology, as well as their perspectives about tele-practice. There was a total of 20 questions. Divided into four sections, closed questions and Likert scale questions were used for demographic details, practice aspects, experience during telerehabilitation, and evaluation and treatment.
Results The study had 118 participants (47% postgraduate students, 29% undergraduate students, and 24% professionals). Only 16% of clinicians were properly trained to provide services via tele-mode. All participants reported providing service to the pediatric population to be challenging, with autism spectrum disorder, fluency disorders, and hearing impairment to be difficult to handle cases. In tele-mode, undergraduate students reported a decrease in the number of cases and difficulties selecting therapy materials when compared with the other two groups. All three groups reported a lack of evidence-based teletherapy resources available. There was no difference in perceived difficulty between the three groups while conducting assessment and achieving treatment goals via tele-mode.
Conclusion Tele-practice is generally recognized and employed, according to data availability. In terms of resource selection, evaluation, and treatment sessions, the difficulties faced by students and experts are disturbing. In the realm of speech-language pathology, strategies to address these issues could pave the way for tele-practice. As a result, better policies are strongly advised to address these difficulties to improve future tele-mode service quality.

Abstract
Background Following the COVID-19 pandemic, majority of paediatric cochlear implantees (CI) lost follow ups for rehabilitation and tele-therapy was initiated. Present study thus compared the outcome measures of paediatric CI users on tele-therapy versus conventional face to face therapy following COVID-19 pandemic. Method Twenty seven unilateral paediatric cochlear implantees in the age range of 2–11 years were divided into two groups based on the therapy modality, viz, tele- and face-to-face therapy. Based on the hearing age, participants were further divided into three groups, viz, 0–2, 2–4, and greater than four years. A complete the test battery comprising Integrated Scales of Development, Speech Intelligibility Rating scale, and Revised Categorical Auditory Perception were administered. The speech & language test battery was performed prior to initiating the rehabilitation and post 12 months of rehabilitation. Results Results of the present study revealed that conventional rehabilitation had better outcomes compared to teletherapy. The rate of progress after one year of rehabilitation with respect to hearing-age showed a significant difference for the hearing-age group of 0–2 years across the domains of audition, speech and language. Conclusion The present study indicates that conventional method of the speech-language and auditory rehabilitation is far better compared to the tele rehabilitation services especially for those visiting tertiary care hospitals as most of them belong to lower and middle socioeconomic status. From the results, it can be delineated that with lesser hearing experience, paediatric CI users always need to initially enroll for conventional therapy for better speech-language and auditory outcomes.
