Abstract
Generally, invasive treatment is contraindication for patients with severe thrombocytopenia, because it may increase risk of bleeding. However, many early hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients with cirrhosis have platelet counts (PC) less than 50 × 109/L due to hypersplenism. These patients are often accompanied by hepatic insufficiency, which makes hepatectomy impossible, and local thermal ablation (LTA) has become a major treatment. The aim of our study is to investigate the correlation between severe thrombocytopenia and bleeding after LTA in HCC patients with cirrhosis, and evaluate risk factors of bleeding. 473 patients with cirrhosis who underwent LTA for HCC from 2016 to 2020 were enrolled, and 709 ablations were performed in total. Based on preoperative PC, cases were divided into three groups, namely, group A (PC > 50 × 109/L), group B (30 × 109/L < PC ≤ 50 × 109/L) and group C (PC ≤ 30 × 109/L). The incidence of bleeding after LTA was compared among the three groups. Logistic regression was used to explore the risk factors for bleeding after ablation. The overall incidence of bleeding complications was 4.4%, and no significant difference was observed between group A, B, and C (3.9% vs. 6.4% vs. 3.3%, P = 0.410). In multivariate analysis, tumor diameter (OR = 2.657 per 1 cm, P < 0.001), and multiple lesions (≥ 3) (OR = 3.723, P = 0.006) were found to be independent predictors of bleeding after LTA. In small HCC patients with cirrhosis and hypersplenism, the PC range 30-50 × 109/L will not increase the risk of bleeding after LTA. Tumor diameter and number of lesions are independent predictors for bleeding after LTA in HCC patients.

Abstract
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are known to facilitate angiogenesis and promote neo-vascularization via secretion of trophic factors. Here, we explored the molecular mechanism adopted by ADAMTS13 in modulating the expression of some key angiogenic markers in human umbilical cord-derived MSCs under serum-deprivation stress. Wharton's jelly MSCs (WJ-MSCs) were isolated from the perivascular region of human umbilical cords by explant culture. ADAMTS13 was upregulated at both mRNA and protein levels in WJ-MSCs under serum-deprivation stress. Correspondingly, some key angiogenic markers were also seen to be upregulated. By screening signaling pathways, p38 and JNK pathways were identified as negative and positive regulators for expression of ADAMTS13, and the angiogenic markers, respectively. Our results also indicated the Notch pathway and p53 as other probable partners modulating the expression of ADAMTS13 and the angiogenic markers. Knockdown of ADAMTS13 using siRNA led to reversal in the expression of these angiogenic markers. Further, ADAMTS13 was shown to act via the EphrinB2/EphB4 axis followed by ERK signaling to control expression of the angiogenic markers. Interestingly, stronger expression levels were noted for ADAMTS13, VEGF and PDGF under a more stringent nutrient stress condition. Thus, we highlight a novel role of ADAMTS13 in WJ-MSCs under nutrient stress condition.

Abstract
It is crucial for hemostasis that platelets are rapidly recruited to the site of vascular injury by the adhesive ligand von Willebrand factor (VWF) multimers. The metalloproteinase ADAMTS13 regulates this hemostatic activity by proteolytically reducing the size of VWF and its proteolytic kinetics has been investigated by biochemical and single-molecule biophysical methods. However, how ADAMTS13 cleaves VWF in flowing blood remains poorly defined. To investigate the force-induced VWF cleavage, VWF A1A2A3 tridomains were immobilized and subjected to hydrodynamic forces in the presence of ADAMTS13. We demonstrated that the cleavage of VWF A1A2A3 by ADAMTS13 exhibited biphasic kinetics governed by shear stress, but not shear rate. By fitting data to the single-molecule Michaelis-Menten equation, the proteolytic constant kcat of ADAMTS13 had two distinct states. The mean proteolytic constant of the fast state (kcat-fast) was 0.005 ± 0.001 s-1, which is >10-fold faster than the slow state (kcat-slow = 0.0005 ± 0.0001 s-1). Furthermore, proteolytic constants of both states were regulated by shear stress in a biphasic manner, independent of the solution viscosity, indicating that the proteolytic activity of ADAMTS13 was regulated by hydrodynamic force. The findings provide new insights into the mechanism underlying ADAMTS13 cleaving VWF under flowing blood.

Abstract
HYPOTHESIS Glycaemic variability (GV) refers to fluctuations in the blood glucose level and may contribute to complications in patients suffering from Diabetes. Several studies show negative effects of GV on the cardiovascular system, however there is still a lack of conclusive evidence. Using an explorative cardiovascular panel, it is possible to simultaneously measure the effects on proteins relevant for cardiovascular processes. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of rapid glucose excursions on cardiovascular and metabolic parameters in healthy individuals. METHODS An explorative single-blinded cross-over study was performed in ten healthy men. Subjects received 3 times 20 grams of glucose i.v. over 5 minutes or 60 grams of glucose continuously over 3 hours. Blood was taken for repeated measurements of the cardiovascular panel over the following 6 hours and again after 24 and 48 hours. RESULTS We observed a significant elevation of 7 cardiovascular biomarkers (BMP6, SLAMF7, LOX-1, ADAMTS13, IL-1RA, IL-4RA, PTX3) at t = 360min after rapid glucose infusion compared to a continuous glucose infusion. CONCLUSIONS Intraday GV seems to have acute effects on cardiovascular proteins in healthy test persons. Rapid glucose administration compared to continuous administration showed significant changes in BMP6, SLAMF7, ADAMTS13, IL1RA, PTX3, IL-4RA and LOX-1. CLINICAL TRIAL REGISTRATION NCT04488848.

Abstract
Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) has become one of the commonly used treatment methods for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It is widely available in the clinic and presents the advantages of short recovery time and a less invasive approach. Only a few complications, such as hemorrhage, ascites, and duct injury, have been reported after RFA for HCC. Herein, we report for the first time the case of a patient diagnosed with recurrent HCC in whom thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) was diagnosed as a complication of the RFA procedure. A 64-year-old male patient with a 2-year history of resected-stage V HCC, in whom later recurrence occurred, underwent RFA for HCC. This patient had a rapid drop in platelets and some petechiae on the wrists after RFA. Combining the clinical and laboratory tests, the diagnosis of TTP was reached. We immediately used plasmapheresis combined with drug therapy, which successfully treated the clinical condition of TTP, with no evidence of recurrence or other complications 1 year after initial treatment. TTP is a rare complication of RFA procedures. Prompt diagnosis and aggressive treatment measures are critical. Through this case report, we hope to raise awareness of the complications of RFA.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Thrombosis is central to the pathogenesis of acute ischemic stroke, with higher thrombin generation being associated with increased stroke risk. The immune system may contribute to thrombin generation in stroke and thus may offer novel strategies for stroke prevention. This study addresses the research question regarding the relationship of thrombin generation to leukocyte gene expression in patients with acute ischemic stroke. METHODS We isolated RNA from whole blood and examined the relationship to thrombin generation capacity in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Due to its effects on thrombin generation, patients on anticoagulants were excluded from the study. The relationship of gene expression with peak thrombin was evaluated by analysis of covariance across peak thrombin quartiles adjusted for sex and age. RESULTS In 97 patients with acute ischemic stroke, peak thrombin was variable, ranging from 252.0 to 752.4 nM. Increased peak thrombin was associated with differences in thromboinflammatory leukocyte gene expression, including a decrease in ADAM metallopeptidase with thrombospondin type 1 motif 13 and an increase in nuclear factor κB (NF-κB)-activating protein, protein disulfide isomerase family A member 5, and tissue factor pathway inhibitor 2. Pathways associated with peak thrombin included interleukin 6 signaling, thrombin signaling, and NF-κB signaling. A linear discriminant analysis model summarizing the immune activation associated with peak thrombin in a first cohort of stroke could distinguish patients with low peak thrombin from high peak thrombin in a second cohort of 112 patients with acute ischemic stroke. DISCUSSION The identified genes and pathways support a role of the immune system contributing to thrombus formation in patients with stroke. These may have relevance to antithrombotic strategies for stroke prevention.

Abstract
In patients with cirrhosis with severe thrombocytopenia (platelet count [PC] <50 × 109/L) and undergoing invasive procedures, it is common clinical practice to increase the PC with platelet transfusions or thrombopoietin receptor agonists to reduce the risk of major periprocedural bleeding. The aim of our study was to investigate the association between native PC and perioperative bleeding in patients with cirrhosis undergoing surgical procedures for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). We retrospectively evaluated 996 patients with cirrhosis between 1996 and 2018 who underwent surgical treatments of HCC by liver resection (LR) or radiofrequency ablation (RFA) without prophylactic platelet transfusions. Patients were allocated to the following three groups based on PC: high (>100 × 109/L), intermediate (51‐100 × 109/L), and low (≤50 × 109/L). PC was also analyzed as a continuous covariate on multivariable analysis. The primary endpoint was major perioperative bleeding. The overall event rate of major perioperative bleeding was 8.9% and was not found to differ significantly between the high, intermediate, and low platelet groups (8.1% vs. 10.2% vs. 10.8%, P = 0.48). On multivariable analysis, greater age, aspartate aminotransferase, lower hemoglobin, and treatment with LR (vs. RFA) were found to be significant independent predictors of major perioperative bleeding, with associations with disease etiology and year of surgery also observed. After adjusting for these factors, the association between PC and major perioperative bleeding remained nonsignificant. Conclusion: Major perioperative bleeding was not significantly associated with PC in patients with cirrhosis undergoing surgical treatment of HCC, even when their PC was <50 × 109/L. With the limit of a retrospective analysis, our data do not support the recommendation of increasing PC in patients with severe thrombocytopenia in order to decrease their perioperative bleeding risk.

Abstract
Increased cerebrovascular amyloid-β (Aβ) deposition represents the main pathogenic mechanisms characterizing Alzheimer's disease (AD) and cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA). Whereas an increasing number of studies define the contribution of fibrin(ogen) to neurodegeneration, how other hemostasis factors might be pleiotropically involved in the AD and CAA remains overlooked. Although traditionally regarded as pertaining to hemostasis, these proteins are also modulators of inflammation and angiogenesis, and exert cytoprotective functions. This review discusses the contribution of hemostasis components to Aβ cerebrovascular deposition, which settle the way to endothelial and blood-brain barrier dysfunction, vessel fragility, cerebral bleeding, and the associated cognitive changes. From the primary hemostasis, the process that refers to platelet aggregation, we discuss evidence regarding the von Willebrand factor (vWF) and its regulator ADAMTS13. Then, from the secondary hemostasis, we focus on tissue factor, which triggers the extrinsic coagulation cascade, and on the main inhibitors of coagulation, i.e., tissue factor pathway inhibitor (TFPI), and the components of protein C pathway. Last, from the tertiary hemostasis, we discuss evidence on FXIII, involved in fibrin cross-linking, and on components of fibrinolysis, including tissue-type plasminogen activator (tPA), urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA) and its receptor uPA(R), and plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1). Increased knowledge on contributors of Aβ-related disease progression may favor new therapeutic approaches for early modifiable risk factors.

Abstract
BACKGROUND We conducted a prospective observational study for investigating the changes in the 13th member of a disintegrin-like and metalloprotease with thrombospondin type 1 motif (ADAMTS13) and its association with the coagulofibrinolytic response in adult trauma patients. METHODS In 39 trauma patients hospitalized for longer than 7 days, time-course changes in biomarkers of coagulofibrinolysis and systemic inflammation along with ADAMTS13 activity were examined. The patients were stratified into three groups based on ADAMTS13 activities on admission (day 0): normal group (≥70%), mildly decreased group (≥50 and < 70%) and moderately decreased group (< 50%). RESULTS Among 39 patients with a median Injury Severity Score (ISS) of 20, 11 patients developed disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) and 16 patients required transfusion. Six of 39 patients (15.4%) showed moderate decreased ADAMTS13 activity to < 50%, and 20 patients (51.3%) showed mild drops (≥50 and < 70%). These changes in ADAMTS13 activity on day 0 were significantly correlated with changes in IL-6 and other coagulofibrinolytic markers such as platelet counts, prothrombin time and fibrin/fibrinogen degradation product (FDP). Antithrombin activity (AT) and serum albumin (Alb) level showed significantly positive linear correlations with ADAMTS13 activity (AT: r = 0.513, p < 0.001; Alb: r = 0.647, p < 0.001). Simple logistic regression analyses showed that ADAMTS13 activity, if less than 50%, was significantly correlated with the development of DIC (OR 7.499, 95%CI 1.121-49.242, p = 0.038) and the need for transfusion of fresh frozen plasma (OR 9.000, 95%CI 1.327-61.025, p = 0.028). CONCLUSIONS ADAMTS13 activity decreased even in the early phase of trauma, which was complicated by coagulopathy and systemic inflammation. Furthermore, the decrease in ADAMTS13 activity was correlated with DIC and plasma transfusion.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a common multi-factorial disease with a partially understood aetiology. Although the roles of high factor (F)VIII and von Willebrand factor (VWF) levels are recognized, that of ADAMTS13 is still unclear. AIM To assess the association between ADAMTS13 activity levels, VWF antigen (VWF:Ag) and FVIII coagulant activity (FVIII:C) levels and DVT. MATERIALS AND METHODS 365 Italian DVT patients and 292 age- and sex-matched controls were considered. Plasma ADAMTS13 activity was measured using FRETS-VWF73 assay. VWF:Ag and FVIII:C were measured using immunoassay and one-stage clotting assay (ACL TOP analyzer), respectively. Quartile analyses were performed to evaluate the individual association between ADAMTS13 activity, VWF:Ag, FVIII:C and DVT. The combined effect of high VWF levels (> 4th quartile) and low ADAMTS13 levels (< 1st quartile) was evaluated using binary variables. All models were age- and sex-adjusted. Estimated risks were reported as Odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI). RESULTS ADAMTS13 activity was lower in DVT patients (94% vs. 98% of controls). Patients with an ADAMTS13 activity <1st quartile (86%) showed a 1.6-fold increased risk of DVT (95%CI, 1.05-2.55). The combination of low ADAMTS13 activity and high VWF:Ag levels was associated with a 15-fold increased risk (95%CI, 7.80-33.80). VWF:Ag and FVIII:C were associated to DVT with a dose-response relationship. CONCLUSIONS ADAMTS13 activity < 86% was associated with a moderate risk of DVT. The co-presence of low ADAMTS13 activity and high VWF levels resulted in a strong synergistic effect on DVT risk. The association of VWF:Ag and FVIII:C with DVT was confirmed.

Abstract
Ovarian cancer is the leading cause of death among gynecologic diseases in the USA and Europe. High-grade serous carcinoma (HGSC) of the ovary, the most aggressive type of ovarian cancer, is typically diagnosed at advanced stages when the 5-year survival is dismal. Since the cure rate for stage I HGSC is high, early detection of localized initial disease may improve patient outcomes. Serous tubal intraepithelial carcinoma (STIC) is considered to be a precursor lesion of HGSC. Discovery of biomarkers associated with STIC could aid in the development of an HGSC screening algorithm. Using immunohistochemical staining, we have demonstrated overexpression of UCHL1, ADAMTS13, and GAPDH in patients' STIC lesions, but not in cancer-free fallopian tubes. We additionally demonstrated a marked increase of T cells in perineoplastic stroma surrounding STIC lesions (largely CD4 + cells), but not in normal fallopian tubes and HGSC. FOXP3 + T regulatory cells are absent in STIC lesions but are present in HGSC. These observations indicate the microenvironment surrounding a STIC lesion may be immune promoting in contrast to the immune suppressive microenvironment of invasive carcinoma. In summary, we have identified UCHL1, ADAMTS13, and GAPDH as novel potentially useful markers associated with early stages of HGSC tumorigenesis and possibly contribute to STIC immunogenicity. The lack of immune suppression in the STIC microenvironment indicates that the immune system can still recognize and keep STIC controlled at this stage of the tumor development.

Abstract
In the setting of liver cirrhosis (LC), profound hemostatic changes occur, which affect primary hemostasis, coagulation, and fibrinolysis. They involve prohemorrhagic and prothrombotic alterations at each of these steps. Patients with cirrhosis exhibit multifactorial thrombocytopenia and in vitro thrombocytopathy, counterbalanced by increased von Willebrand factor. The resultant shift is difficult to assess, but overall these changes probably result in a rebalanced primary hemostasis. Concerning coagulation, the reduced activity of coagulation factors is counterbalanced by an increase in factor VIII (produced by liver sinusoidal endothelial cells), a decrease of the natural anticoagulants, and complex changes, including changes in circulating microparticles, cell-free DNA, and neutrophil extracellular traps. Overall, these alterations result in a procoagulant state. As for fibrinolysis, increased tissue-type and urokinase-type plasminogen activators, a relatively decreased plasminogen activator inhibitor 1, and decreased levels of thrombin-activatable fibrinolysis inhibitor and α2-antiplasmin are counterbalanced by decreased plasminogen and a decreased fibrin clot permeability. Whether and how these changes shift fibrinolysis remains to be determined. Overall, the current consensus is that in patients with cirrhosis, the hemostasis is shifted toward a procoagulant state. We review the published evidence for the concept of LC as a prothrombotic state, discuss discordant data, and highlight the impact of the underlying cause of LC on the resultant imbalance.

Abstract
The article presents a brief description of a rare disease - thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (Moshkovits - disease), which is based on the deficiency of ADAMTS-13 metalloproteinase, leading to the development of thrombotic microangiopathy with the defeat of vital organs. The article also describes the clinical observation of a patient with the Moshkovits - disease. The features of the above observation are involvement in the pathological process of the kidneys and intestines, while in the classical descriptions of the disease there is a predominant lesion of the Central nervous system, as well as the genetic form of the disease.

Abstract
Background ADAMTS13 (A disintegrin and metalloprotease with a thrombospondin type 1 motif 13) cleaves Von Willebrand factor (VWF) to regulate its size, thereby preventing aberrant platelet aggregation and thrombus. Deficiency of ADAMTS13 caused by either genetic mutations or by inhibitory autoantibodies against ADAMTS13 leads to thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP). Recently, ADAMTS13 was reported to adopt a “closed” conformation with lower activity and an “open” one resulting from the engagements of VWF D4-CK domains or antibodies to the distal domains of ADAMTS13, or mutations in its spacer domain. These engagements or mutations increase ADAMTS13 activity by ~ 2.5-fold. However, it is less known whether the conformation of ADAMTS13 is dynamic or stable. Results Wild type ADAMTS13 (WT-ADAMTS13) and the gain-of-function variant (GOF-ADAMTS13) with five mutations (R568K / F592Y / R660K / Y661F / Y665F) in spacer domain were imaged by atomic force microscopy (AFM) at pH 6 and pH 7.5. The data revealed that at both pH 6 and pH 7.5, WT-ADAMTS13 adopted two distinct conformational states (state I and state II), while an additional state (state III) was observed in GOF-ADAMTS13. In the present study, we propose that state I is the “closed” conformation, state III is the “open” one, and state II is an intermediate one. Comparing to pH 7.5, the percentages of state II of WT-ADAMTS13 and state III of GOF-ADAMTS13 increased at pH 6, with the decrease in the state I for WT-ADAMTS13 and state I and state II for GOF-ADAMTS13, suggesting lower pH extended the conformation of ADAMTS13. Conclusion Both WT- and GOF-ADAMTS13 exist multiple conformational states and lower pH might alter the tertiary structure and/or disrupt the intra-domain interactions, increasing the flexibility of ADAMTS13 molecules. Von Willebrand factor and ADAMTS13 activity in relation to risk of dementia: a population-based study. Sci Rep 2018; 8:5474. Abstract
Low ADAMTS13 activity is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, which is generally attributed to its proteolytic effects on Von Willebrand factor (VWF). Cardiovascular health is an important determinant of cognitive decline, but the association of either VWF or ADAMTS13 with risk of dementia is unknown. Between 1997–2002, we measured VWF antigen and ADAMTS13 activity in 6055 participants of the population-based Rotterdam Study (mean age 69.3 years, 57.2% women). At baseline, 85 participants had dementia, and during 15 years of follow-up 821 developed dementia. Higher VWF was associated with prevalence and risk of dementia, unaffected by concurrent ADAMTS13 activity, but estimates strongly attenuated over time and were no longer statistically significant at 4 years of follow-up (relative risks [95% CI] per standard deviation increase– cross-sectional: 1.37 [1.06–1.77], and longitudinal: 1.05 [0.97–1.14]). In contrast, low ADAMTS13 was associated with increased risk of dementia throughout follow-up (hazard ratio per SD decrease– 1.16 [1.06–1.28]), which alike for ischaemic stroke, was modified by the presence of diabetes (P-interaction = 0.003). In conclusion, higher VWF and low ADAMTS13 activity are associated with increased risk of dementia, but differences in time-course and lack of synergistic effects may indicate in part independent underlying mechanisms.

Abstract
Background Impaired renal function is often neglected in COPD patients. Considering that COPD patients usually have an ongoing prothrombotic state and systemic inflammation status, we investigated the association among them and explored the predictive value of a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with a thrombospondin type 1 motif, member 13 (ADAMTS-13), on concealed chronic renal failure (CRF) in COPD patients. Methods COPD patients were recruited from the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University between January 2015 and December 2016. Control was selected from contemporaneous hospitalized patients without COPD and matched by age and gender at a ratio of 1:1. Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) was calculated by using the Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology Collaboration formula, and all subjects were categorized as having normal renal function (eGFR ≥60 mL min-1 1.73 m-2) and having concealed CRF (normal serum creatinine while eGFR <60 mL min-1 1.73 m-2). Independent correlates of concealed CRF were investigated by logistic regression analysis, and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to determine the predictive value of ADAMTS-13. Results In total, 106 COPD and 106 non-COPD patients were finally recruited, and the incidences of concealed CRF were 19.81% and 7.55%, respectively. ADAMTS-13 (odds ratio [OR] =0.858, 95% CI =0.795-0.926), D-dimer (OR =1.095, 95% CI =1.027-1.169), and C-reactive protein (OR =1.252, 95% CI =1.058-1.480) were significantly associated with concealed CRF. Sensitivity and specificity at an ADAMTS-13 cutoff of 318.72 ng/mL were 100% and 81.2%, respectively. The area under the ROC curve was 0.959. Conclusion Prothrombotic state and systemic inflammation status might contribute to explaining the high incidence of concealed CRF in COPD, and plasma ADAMTS-13 levels may serve as a strong predictor.

Abstract
Background The mechanisms behind residual platelet reactivity (RPR) despite aspirin treatment are not established. It has been shown that coronary artery disease (CAD) patients with high on-aspirin RPR have elevated levels of von Willebrand factor (vWF). ADAMTS13 is a metalloprotease cleaving ultra large vWF multimers into less active fragments. Our aim was to investigate whether ADAMTS13 and vWF/ADAMTS13 ratio were associated with high RPR, and further with clinical endpoints after 2 years. Methods Stable aspirin-treated CAD patients (n = 999) from the ASCET trial. RPR was assessed by PFA-100. ADAMTS13 antigen and activity were analysed using chromogenic assays. Endpoints were a composite of acute myocardial infarction, stroke and death. Results The number of patients with high RPR was 258 (25.8%). Their serum thromboxane B2 (TxB2) levels were low, indicating inhibition of COX-1. They had significantly lower levels of ADAMTS13 antigen compared to patients with low RPR (517 vs 544 ng/mL, p = 0.001) and significantly lower ADAMTS13 activity (0.99 vs 1.04 IU/mL, p = 0.020). The differences were more pronounced when relating RPR to ratios of vWF/ADAMTS13 antigen and vWF/ADAMTS13 activity (p < 0.001, both). We found an inverse correlation between vWF and ADAMTS13 antigen (r = −0.14, p < 0.001) and ADAMTS13 activity (r = −0.11, p < 0.001). No correlations between TxB2 and ADAMTS13 antigen or activity, were observed, implying that ADAMTS13 is not involved in TxB2 production. Patients who experienced endpoints (n = 73) had higher vWF level (113 vs 105%, p = 0.032) and vWF/ADAMTS13 antigen ratio (0.23 vs 0.20, p = 0.012) compared to patients without. When dichotomizing vWF/ADAMTS13 antigen at median level we observed that patients above median had higher risk for suffering endpoints, with an adjusted OR of 1.86 (95% CI 1.45, 2.82). Conclusion These results indicate that ADAMTS13 is of importance for RPR, and that it in combination with vWF also is associated with clinical endpoints in stable CAD patients on aspirin.
