Abstract
The development of nanozymes (NZ) for the simultaneous detection of multiple target chemicals is gaining paramount attention in the field of food and health sciences, and waste management industries. Nanozymes (NZ) effectively compensate for the environmental vulnerability of natural enzymes. Considering the development gap of NZ with diverse applications, we synthesized versatile Schiff's base ligands following a facile route and readily available starting reagents (glutaraldehyde, aminopyridines). DPDI, one of the synthesized ligands, readily reacted with transition metal ions (Cu+2, Ag+1, Zn+2 in specific) under ambient conditions, yielding the corresponding nanoparticles/MOF. The structures of ligands and their products were confirmed using various analytical techniques. The enzymatic efficacy of DPDI-Cu (km 0.25 mM=, Vmax = 10.75 µM/sec) surpassed Tremetese versicolor laccase efficacy (km 0. 5 mM=, Vmax = 2.15 µM/sec). Additionally, DPDI-Cu proved resilient to changing pH, temperature, ionic strength, organic solvent, and storage time compared to laccase and provided reusability. DPDI-Cu proved promising for colorimetric detection of dopamine, epinephrine, catechol, tetracycline, and quercetin. The mechanism of oxidative detection of TC was studied through LC/MS analysis. DPDI-Cu-bentonite composite efficiently adsorbed tetracycline with maximum Langmuir adsorption of 208 mg/g. Moreover, DPDI/Cu and DPDI-Ag nanoparticles possessed antifungal activity exhibiting a minimum inhibitory concentration of 400 µg/mL and 3.12 µg/mL against Aspergillus flavus. Florescent dye tracking and SEM/TEM analysis confirmed that DPDI-Ag caused disruption of the plasma membrane and triggered ROS generation and apoptosis-like death in fungal cells. The DPDI-Ag coating treatment of wheat seeds confirmed the non-phytotoxicity of Ag-NPs.

Abstract
Tetracycline (TC) is a significant group of broad-spectrum antibiotics that are frequently employed in medical health and animal husbandry. However, the problem of TC residues has been increasing globally with the large-scale production and widespread use, posing a serious threat to the human health and ecological environment. In this paper, a green plant-based MOF SU-102 was prepared, and the adsorption characteristics of SU-102 on TC were investigated. SU-102 was columnar crystal with considerable specific surface area and pore structure, and it could adsorb TC quickly and effectively. And compared to SU-102-a, the adsorption rate of TC by SU-102-b has increased by nearly four times. The adsorption reaction was a spontaneous, entropy-gaining, heat-absorbing process. The adsorption mechanisms between SU-102 and TC were π-π interaction and hydrogen bonding. In addition, SU-102 also had considerable photocatalytic properties, and its application in adsorbent desorption treatment effectively solved the problem of secondary pollution.

Abstract
The coordination polymer was obtained based on cobalt trimesinate. It was characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis and scanning electron microscopy. The polymer was studied as a sorbent for solid-phase extraction of tetracycline antibiotics. Cobalt trimesinate had a high adsorption capacity (400 mg/g). Antibiotic adsorption followed the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Freundlich isotherm model. The process proceeded spontaneously, as indicated by the calculated thermodynamic parameters. The resulting coordination polymer has good stability and recyclability. The possibility of using cobalt trimesinate for the determination of tetracycline in various milk samples was investigated. This work holds great promise for the development and application of a cobalt trimesinate-based coordination polymer for use in sample preparation to replace the time-consuming vacuum evaporation procedure with a relatively simple solid-phase extraction procedure.

Abstract
Poly- and perfluoro alkyl substances (PFAS) are a group of man-made, notoriously persistent, and highly toxic contaminants in the environment reported worldwide. Many adsorbents including granular activated carbon, graphene, biochar, zeolites, and clay minerals have been tested for PFAS removal from water, but most of these materials suffer from high cost and/or poor removal performance. Here, we synthesized, characterized, and examined the efficiency of PCN-222(Fe), a new porous metal organic framework (MOF) with high water stability, for adsorptive removal of a frequently occurring PFAS, perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS), from water. The adsorption isotherm and kinetic studies revealed high PFOS adsorption capacity of PCN-222 (2257 mg/g), with rapid PFOS removal rate (within 30 min). The structure of PCN-222 was unaffected in water in the pH range of 2-10 but disintegrated and lost its PFOS removal ability at pH > 10. The PFOS adsorption on PCN-222 was an endothermic reaction. Electrostatic attraction was a dominant mechanism for PFOS adsorption at < 1694 mg/g PFOS concentration, while hydrophobic interaction accompanied with hydrogen-bonding was responsible at ≥ 1694 mg/g PFOS concentration. The interlayer morphology of PCN-222 did not change due to increasing PFOS loading. The findings of this study demonstrated superior features of PCN-222 over other conventional adsorbents for its potential application in removing PFOS from contaminated water to reduce PFOS transfer from water to living organisms.

Abstract
Chronic wound is a common complication for diabetic patients, which entails substantial inconvenience, persistent pain, and significant economic burden to patients. However, current clinical treatments for diabetic chronic wounds remain unsatisfactory. A prolonged but ineffective inflammation phase in chronic wounds is the primary difference between diabetic chronic wounds and normal wounds. Herein, we present an effective antioxidative system (MOF/Gel) for chronic wound healing of diabetic rats through integrating a metal organic framework (MOF) nanozyme with antioxidant enzyme-like activity with a hydrogel (Gel). MOF/Gel can continuously scavenge reactive oxygen species to modulate the oxidative stress microenvironment in diabetic chronic wounds, which leads to a natural transition from the inflammation phase to the proliferation phase. Impressively, the efficacy of one-time-applied MOF/Gel was comparable to that of the human epidermal growth factor Gel, a widely used clinical drug for various wound treatments. Such an effective, safe, and convenient MOF/Gel system can meet complex clinical demands.

Abstract
The presence of antibiotics in the aquatic environment can cause significant environmental and human health problems even at trace concentrations. Conventional treatment systems alone are ineffective in removing these resistant antibiotics. To address this problem, oxidation and adsorption techniques were used to explore the removal of recalcitrant antibiotic chloramphenicol (CAP). An aluminum-based metal-organic framework (Al-MIL) with high surface area and extended porosity, was prepared and used both as adsorbent and catalyst for the oxidation of CAP. Characterization of the Al-MIL revealed a large surface area of 1137 m2 g-1, a homogeneous microporous structure, good crystallinity, and particle size in the range of 200-400 nm. Adsorption of CAP on Al-MIL achieved equilibrium after 1 h, reaching a maximum adsorption capacity of 96.1 mg g-1 at the optimum pH value of 5.3. The combination of adsorption and oxidation did not improve the % TOC reduction considerably, indicating an antagonistic rather than synergistic effect between the two processes. Oxidation alone in the presence of persulfate, achieved a % TOC reduction of 71% after 2 h, compared to 56% achieved by adsorption alone at the same duration. The optimum persulfate concentration was determined as 2.5 mM. The Al-MIL structure did not demonstrate any substantial deterioriation after six repeated runs, according to the reusability experiments.

Abstract
Herein, tetracycline adsorption employing magnetic chitosan (CS·Fe3O4) as the adsorbent is reported. The magnetic adsorbent was synthesized by the co-precipitation method and characterized through FTIR, XRD, SEM, and VSM analyses. The experimental data showed that the highest maximum adsorption capacity was reached at pH 7.0 (211.21 mg g-1). The efficiency of the magnetic adsorbent in tetracycline removal was dependent on the pH, initial concentration of adsorbate, and the adsorbent dosage. Additionally, the ionic strength showed a significant effect on the process. The equilibrium and kinetics studies demonstrate that Sips and Elovich models showed the best adjustment for experimental data, suggesting that the adsorption occurs in a heterogeneous surface and predominantly by chemical mechanisms. The experimental results suggest that tetracycline adsorption is mainly governed by the hydrogen bonds and cation-π interactions due to its pH dependence as well as the enhancement in the removal efficiency with the magnetite incorporation on the chitosan surface, respectively. Thermodynamic parameters indicate a spontaneous and exothermic process. Finally, magnetic chitosan proves to be efficient in TC removal even after several adsorption/desorption cycles.

Abstract
With the growth of globalization which has been the primary cause of water pollution, it is utmost necessary for us living being to have access to clean water for the purpose of drinking, washing and various other useful applications. With the purpose of future security and to restore our ecological balance, it is essential to give much significance towards the removal of unwanted toxic contaminants from our water resources. In this regard adsorptive removal of toxic pollutants from wastewater with porous adsorbent is regarded as one of the most promising way for water decontamination process. Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) comprising of uniformly arranged pores, abundant active sites and containing an easily tunable structure has aroused as a promising material for adsorbent to remove the unwanted contaminants from water sources. The adsorption of pollutants by the different MOFs surface are driven by various interactions including π-π, acid-base, electrostatic and H-bonding etc. On the other hand, the removal of various contaminants by MOFs is influenced by various factors including pH, temperature and initial concentration. In this review we will specifically discuss the adsorptive removal of different organic and inorganic pollutants present in our water systems with the use of MOFs as adsorbent along with the various factors and interaction mechanism manipulating the adsorption behaviour.

Abstract
Quinolone-based antibiotics commonly detected in surface, ground, and drinking water are difficult to remove and therefore pose a threat as organic contaminants of aqueous environment. We performed adsorptive removal of quinolone antibiotics, nalidixic acid and ofloxacin, using a zirconium-porphyrin-based metal-organic framework (MOF), PCN-224. PCN-224 exhibits the highest adsorption capacities for both nalidixic acid and ofloxacin among those reported for MOFs to date. The accessible metal sites of Zr metal nodes are responsible for efficient adsorptive removal. This study offers a pragmatic approach to design MOFs optimized for adsorptive removal of antibiotics.

Abstract
Pure-phase Cu2−xS (x = 1, 0.2) nanoparticles have been synthesized by the thermal decomposition of copper(II) dithiocarbamate as a single-source precursor in oleylamine as a capping agent. The compositions of the Cu2−xS nanocrystals varied from CuS (covellite) through the mixture of phases (CuS and Cu7.2S4) to Cu9S5 (digenite) by simply varying the temperature of synthesis. The crystallinity and morphology of the copper sulfides were studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), which showed pure phases at low (120 °C) and high (220 °C) temperatures and a mixture of phases at intermediate temperatures (150 and 180 °C). Covellite was of a spherical morphology, while digenite was rod shaped. The optical properties of these nanocrystals were characterized by UV−vis–NIR and photoluminescence spectroscopies. Both samples had very similar absorption spectra but distinguishable fluorescence properties and exhibited a blue shift in their band gap energies compared to bulk Cu2−xS. The pure phases were used as catalysts for the photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline (TC) under visible-light irradiation. The results demonstrated that the photocatalytic activity of the digenite phase exhibited higher catalytic degradation of 98.5% compared to the covellite phase, which showed 88% degradation within the 120 min reaction time using 80 mg of the catalysts. The higher degradation efficiency achieved with the digenite phase was attributed to its higher absorption of the visible light compared to covellite.

Abstract
In recent years, the presence of numerous xenobiotic substances, such as antibiotics, has been detected in water environments. They can be considered as environmental contaminants, even if their effect on human health has yet to be totally understood. Several approaches have been studied for the removal of these kinds of pollutants. Among these compounds, tetracycline (TC), a broad-spectrum antibiotic, is one of the most commonly found in water due to its widespread use. In the context of reducing the presence of TC in aqueous solution, in this contribution, a composite catalyst based on zinc oxide (ZnO) and iron oxide (γ-Fe2O3) was developed and its photocatalytic properties were investigated. The catalytic materials were synthesized by a microwave-assisted aqueous solution method and characterized by Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM), X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) and Brunauer−Emmett−Teller (BET) analysis. The TC concentration was evaluated by spectrophotometer measurements at specific time intervals. The performed photocatalytic experiments clearly demonstrated that the ZnO/γ-Fe2O3 composite catalyst presents significant photocatalytic activity, indeed a TC degradation efficiency of 88.52% was registered after 150 min. The presence of iron oxide in the structure of the catalyst enhances both the surface area and the pore volume, facilitating the adsorption of the analyte on the surface of nanostructures, a fundamental phase to optimize a photodegradation process. Moreover, ZnO was found to play the key role in the photocatalytic process assisted by γ-Fe2O3 which enhanced the TC degradation efficiency by 20%.
