Abstract
A new six-co-ordinate cis-dioxomolybdenum(VI) complex [Mo(O)2 (3,5-di-tert-Busap) (EtOH)], (where 3,5-di-tert-Busap2- = the Schiff base dianion 3,5-di-tert-butyl-N-salicylidene-2-aminophenolate), has been prepared. The complex is characterised by IR, 1H and 13C NMR and UV/vis spectroscopy and is stable to air, but above 413 K or in non-co-ordinating solvents loses an ethanol molecule, forming an dimeric compound with an unsymmetrical dioxygen bridge as indicated by IR spectroscopy.

Abstract
A number of novel polymer complexes of various anions of copper(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II) and uranyl(II) with N(4-(acrylamido)-2-hydroxy benzoic acid) (ABH) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR, magnetic susceptibility measurements, electronic spin resonance, vibrational spectra and thermal analysis. The molecular structures of the ligand are optimized theoretically and the quantum chemical parameters are calculated. Tentative structures for the polymeric metal complexes due to their potential application are also suggested. The IR data exhibit the coordination of ONO2/OAc/SO4 with the metal ions in the polymeric metal complex. Vibrational spectra indicate coordination of carboxylate oxygen and phenolic OH of the ligand giving a MO4 square planar chromophore. Ligand field ESR spectra support square planar geometry around Cu(II). The thermal decomposition of the polymer complexes were discussed in relation to structure, and the thermodynamic parameters of the decomposition stages were evaluated applying Coast-Redfern and Horowitz-Metzger methods.

Abstract
An EtOH solution of 3-ketobutanehydrazide and salicylhydrazide on refluxing in equimolar ratio forms the corresponding Schiff base, LH3 (1). The latter reacts with Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Zr(OH)2(IV), MoO2(VI), and UO2(VI) ions in equimolar ratio and forms the corresponding coordination compounds, [M(LH)(MeOH)3] (2, M = Mn, Co, Ni), [Cu(LH)]2 (3), [M′(LH)(MeOH)] (4, M′ = Zn, Cd), [Zr(OH)2(LH)(MeOH)2] (5), [MoO2(LH)(MeOH)] (6), and [UO2(LH)(MeOH)] (7). The coordination compounds have been characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, molar conductance, spectral (IR, reflectance, 1H NMR, ESR) studies, and magnetic susceptibility measurements. They are nonelectrolytes in DMSO. The coordination compounds, except 3, are monomers in diphenyl. They are active against gram-positive bacteria (S. aureus, B. subtilis), gram-negative bacteria (E. coli, P. aeruginosa), and yeast (S. cerevisiae, C. albicans). 1 acts as a dibasic tridentate ONO donor ligand in 2–7 coordinating through its both enolic O and azomethine N atoms. The coordination compounds 2 and 3 are paramagnetic, while rest of the compounds are diamagnetic. A square-planar structure to 3, a tetrahedral structure to 4, an octahedral structure to 2, 6, and 7, and a pentagonal bipyramidal structure to 5 are proposed.

Abstract
We synthesized and studied the coordinating behaviour of chalcone based ligands derived from DHA and n-alkoxy benzaldehyde and their complexes of VO(IV) and MoO(V). The chalcone ligands are characterized by elemental analyses, UV-visible, IR, (1)H NMR, and mass spectra. The resulting oxocation complexes are also characterized by elemental analyses, IR, (1)H NMR, electronic, electron spin resonance spectra, magnetic susceptibility measurement and molar conductance studies. The IR and (1)H NMR spectral data suggest that the chalcone ligands behave as a monobasic bidentate with O:O donor sequence towards metal ion. The molar conductivity data show them to be non-electrolytes. From the electronic, magnetic and ESR spectral data suggest that all the chalcone ligand complexes of VO(IV) and MoO(V) have distorted octahedral geometry.

Abstract
Binary complexes of Cu(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II) ions have been synthesized by reacting metal salts with a Schiff base, 2-((E)-(5-methylisoxazol-3-ylimino)methyl)-4-methoxyphenol (MIIMMP) in an alcoholic medium. All the metal complexes and schiff base have been characterized by using elemental analysis, IR, UV-VIS, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, Mass, ESR spectral data, magnetic moments, TG, and DTA studies. Based on the analytical, spectral data and molecular modeling studies, Ni(II) and Zn(II) metal complexes have octahedral geometry, whereas Cu(II) complex has tetragonal geometry. The antimicrobial and cytotoxic activities of the Schiff base and its metal complexes were studied on bacteria, fungi, and human cervical carcinoma cells (HeLa).

Abstract
A novel method to synthesize some mononuclear ternary palladium(II) complexes of the general formula [Pd(L(n))L] (where LH=diketone=acetylacetone, HL(n)=azorhodanine) has been synthesize. The structure of the new mononuclear ternary palladium(II) complexes was characterized using elemental analysis, spectral (electronic, infrared and (1)H &(13)C NMR) studies, magnetic susceptibility measurements and thermal studies. The IR showed that the ligands (HL(n) & LH) act as monobasic bidentate through the azodye nitrogen, oxygen keto moiety and two enolato oxygen atoms. The molar conductivities show that all the complexes are non-electrolytes. Bidentate chelating nature of β-diketone and azorhodanine anions in the complexes was characterized by (electronic, infrared and (1)H &(13)C NMR) spectra. Square planar geometry around palladium has been assigned in all complexes. Various ligand and nephelouxetic parameter have been calculated for the complexes. The thermal decomposition for complexes was studied.

Abstract
Microwave synthesis, is green chemical method, simple, sensitive, reducing solvent amount and reaction time. The attempt was made to synthesize the unsymmetrical tetradentate N(2)O(2) ligands and their VO(IV) and MoO(V) unsymmetrical tetradentate Schiff base complexes by classical and microwave techniques using domestic microwave oven. The resulting unsymmetrical Schiff base ligands L(1)-L(3) characterized by different spectral methods. Their complexes with oxocations of VO(IV) and MoO(V) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, conductometric measurements, infrared and electronic absorption, (1)H NMR spectra, mass spectrometry, ESR spectra, magnetic susceptibility measurement and thermal study. The study suggests that the oxo metal ion is bonded to the ligand through the oxygen and imino nitrogen and the geometry around metal ion is distorted octahedral.
