Abstract
The hypothalamus is an important component of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and an important brain region of the limbic system. Twenty-four first depressive episode(FDE) patients and 25 healthy controls were recruited for this study. The hypothalamus was used as a seed to observe the characteristics of resting state and dynamic functional connectivity (FC) changes in FDE patients, and further observed the correlation between the different brain regions and clinical symptoms. The results found that compared with the HC group, the FDE group showed sFC was increased of the left hypothalamus with right superior parietal gyrus and right middle temporal gyrus, and dFC was increased of the left hypothalamus with left inferior occipital gyrus. And sFC was increased of the right hypothalamus with right orbital part of inferior frontal gyrus, right supplementary motor area, and right middle temporal gyrus, and the dFC was also increased of right hypothalamus with right superior parietal gyrus and left middle temporal gyrus. In addition,there was a negative correlation between dFC values of the right hypothalamus with the right superior parietal gyrus and clinical symptoms in the FDE group. This study provides new insights into understanding the altered neuropathological mechanisms of the hypothalamic circuit in FDE.

Abstract
Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has shown efficacy and tolerability in Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). However, the underlying mechanisms of its antidepressant effects remain unclear. This open-label study investigated electroencephalography (EEG) functional connectivity markers associated with response and the antidepressant effects of rTMS. Resting-state EEG data were collected from 28 participants with MDD before and after a four-week rTMS course. Source-space functional connectivity between 38 cortical regions was compared using an orthogonalised amplitude approach. Depressive symptoms significantly improved following rTMS, with 43 % of participants classified as responders. While the study's functional connectivity findings did not withstand multiple comparison corrections, exploratory analyses suggest an association between theta band connectivity and rTMS treatment mechanisms. Fronto-parietal theta connectivity increased after treatment but did not correlate with antidepressant response. Notably, low baseline theta connectivity was associated with greater response. However, due to the exploratory nature and small sample size, further replication is needed. The findings provide preliminary evidence that EEG functional connectivity, particularly within the theta band, may reflect the mechanisms by which rTMS exerts its therapeutic effects.

Abstract
Drug-resistant mental disorders, particularly treatment-resistant depression, pose a significant medical and social problem. To address this challenge, modern psychiatry is constantly exploring the use of novel treatment methods, including biological treatments, such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and novel rapid-acting antidepressants, such as ketamine. While both TMS and ketamine demonstrate high effectiveness in reducing the severity of depressive symptoms, some patients still do not achieve the desired improvement. Recent literature suggests that combining these two methods may yield even stronger and longer-lasting results. This review aims to consolidate knowledge in this area and elucidate the potential mechanisms of action underlying the increased efficacy of combined treatment, which would provide a foundation for the development and optimization of future treatment protocols.

Abstract
Psychiatric disorders have always attracted a lot of attention from researchers due to the difficulties in their diagnoses and treatments. Molecular imaging, as an emerging technology, has played an important role in the researchers of various diseases. In recent years, molecular imaging techniques including magnetic resonance spectroscopy, nuclear medicine imaging, and fluorescence imaging have been widely used in the study of psychiatric disorders. This review will briefly summarize the progression of molecular imaging in psychiatric disorders.
