Abstract
The proposed study introduces a rapid, sensitive, and simple synchronous spectrofluorimetric technique for simultaneous quantification of relebactam, cilastatin, and imipenem in marketed pharmaceutical forms and biological fluids. Using synchronous fluorescence spectroscopy at Δ λ = 110 nm, cilastatin was detected at 360 nm. Fourier Self-Deconvolution was subsequently applied to the spectrum to estimate relebactam and imipenem at 430 nm and 470 nm, respectively after detection of cilastatin at 360 nm ensuring no cross-interference. The pH was adjusted to 8.0 using 2.0 mL of alkaline borate buffer. This approach allowed for the precise quantification of relebactam, cilastatin, and imipenem through ranges of 50-400 ng mL- 1, 20-500 ng mL- 1, and 50-500 ng mL- 1 respectively. The lower detection and quantitation limits were 9.9 and 29.7 ng mL- 1 for REL, 4.5 and 13.6 ng mL- 1 for CIL and 5.5 and 16.5 ng mL- 1 for IMP. The proposed method was successfully applied for the determination of studied drugs in their pharmaceutical formulations with a high degree of accuracy and without interference from common excipients. This approach allowed for the precise quantification of relebactam, cilastatin, and imipenem through ranges of 50-400 ng mL- 1, 20-500 ng mL- 1, and 50-500 ng mL- 1, respectively. The proposed method was rigorously validated according to ICH guidelines. Furthermore, the method's environmental impact was assessed using Eco-scale and Green Analytical Procedure Index (GAPI) techniques.

Abstract
A simple procedure for the quantitative determination of the Ceftriaxone pure substance by the spectrophotometric method in its kinetic modification using Caro’s acid has been developed and validated. The scheme of the chemical transformation of Ceftriaxone with the reaction of potassium caroate has been proposed. The appearance of a new wave gives the possibility of developing a new procedure for the quantitative determination of Ceftriaxone. The obtained results of accuracy and precision are as follows: RSD = 1.63-2.25 %, δ = 0.33-0.96 %. LOD = 0.1 µg/mL, LOQ = 0.33 µg/mL.

Abstract
Some electrodes for efficient detection of paracetamol and dopamine were developed from nano sized material of cobalt ferrite (np-CoFe2O4) and manganese ferrite (np-MnFe2O4). These oxides were synthesized by combustion method using cobalt nitrate, manganese acetate and ferric nitrate as precursors in the presence of sugar and ethanolamine. The crystallite size, shape and morphology of nano material were characterized by X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) techniques. The crystallite sizes of synthesized nano-particles (nps) were in the range from 10 to 12 nm (calculated using Debye-Scherrer equation) with cubic crystal system. These particles were utilized as electrode modified with graphite for simultaneous detection of paracetamol and dopamine through cyclic voltammetry and Differential pulse voltammetry techniques and was found to be superior to reported literatures. The minimum detection limit of paracetamol and dopamine at CoFe2O4/GP electrode were 250 nM and 350 nM while at MnFe2O4/GP electrode it was 300 nM and 400 nM, respectively. Both the electrodes exhibited the linearity range from3 μM to 200 μM & 3 μM-160 μM for paracetamol and 3 μM-180 μM & 5 μM to 200 for dopamine, respectively. Two oxidation peaks of paracetamol and dopamine were well separated in phosphate buffer (pH = 6) in mixture with 100 mVs-1 and 50 mVs-1 scan rate for cyclic voltammetry and Differential pulse voltammetry, respectively. Both the electrodes demonstrated satisfactory results in real samples of paracetamol and dopamine.

Abstract
Molecularly imprinting polymers (MIPs) are typically prepared using a single template molecule, which allows selective separation and enrichment of only one target analyte. It is not suitable for determination of complex real samples containing multiple analytes. In order to expand the practical application of imprinted polymers, novel dual-template magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers (MMIPs) were synthesized by surface polymerization using hydrocortisone and dexamethasone as the dual-template molecules in this study. The dual-template MMIPs were prepared by copolymerization on the surface of Fe3O4@ SiO2-NH2, the template molecules, the functional monomer acrylamide (AM), the cross-linking agent ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA), and the initiator 2,2-azobisisobutyronitrile. The morphology, magnetic properties and adsorption characteristics of the obtained dual-template MMIPs were studied by field emission scanning electron microscopy, dynamic light scattering, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermal gravimetric analysis, and vibrating sample magnetometry, and re-binding experiments. The results indicated that dual-template MMIPs had uniform particle size, strong magnetic properties, high thermal stability, and good mass transfer rate. To investigate the selectivity of dual-template MMIPs, the template molecules were mixed along with their structural analogs. The dual-template MMIPs revealed a significantly higher adsorption amount for the template molecule than its structure analog. The dual-template MMIPs can be used for the enrichment and determination of hydrocortisone and dexamethasone in cosmetic products with the recoveries of spiked cosmetic samples ranging from 86.8-107.5% and 91.2-104.3%, respectively. The relative standard deviation (RSD) for hydrocortisone was <2.89%, and RSD for dexamethasone was <2.62%.

Abstract
New accurate, sensitive and selective spectrophotometric and chemometric methods were developed and subsequently validated for determination of Imipenem (IMP), ciprofloxacin hydrochloride (CIPRO), dexamethasone sodium phosphate (DEX), paracetamol (PAR) and cilastatin sodium (CIL) in human urine. These methods include a new derivative ratio method, namely extended derivative ratio (EDR), principal component regression (PCR) and partial least-squares (PLS) methods. A novel EDR method was developed for the determination of these drugs, where each component in the mixture was determined by using a mixture of the other four components as divisor. Peak amplitudes were recorded at 293.0 nm, 284.0 nm, 276.0 nm, 257.0 nm and 221.0 nm within linear concentration ranges 3.00-45.00, 1.00-15.00, 4.00-40.00, 1.50-25.00 and 4.00-50.00 μg mL(-1) for IMP, CIPRO, DEX, PAR and CIL, respectively. PCR and PLS-2 models were established for simultaneous determination of the studied drugs in the range of 3.00-15.00, 1.00-13.00, 4.00-12.00, 1.50-9.50, and 4.00-12.00 μg mL(-1) for IMP, CIPRO, DEX, PAR and CIL, respectively, by using eighteen mixtures as calibration set and seven mixtures as validation set. The suggested methods were validated according to the International Conference of Harmonization (ICH) guidelines and the results revealed that they were accurate, precise and reproducible. The obtained results were statistically compared with those of the published methods and there was no significant difference.

Abstract
In this paper, a simple, rapid and sensitive method based on liquid chromatography with fluorimetric detection (HPLC-FLD) for the determination of amikacin (AMK) in human plasma is developed. Determination is performed by pre-column derivatization of AMK with ortho-phtalaldehyde (OPA) in presence of N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) at pH 9.5 for 5 min at 80 °C. In our knowledge, this is the first time that NAC has been used in AMK derivatization. Derivatization conditions (pH, AMK/OPA/NAC molar ratios, temperature and reaction time) are optimized to obtain a single and stable, at room temperature, derivative. Separation of the derivative is achieved on a reversed phase LC column (Kromasil C18, 5 μm, 150 × 4.6 i.d. mm) with a mobile phase of 0.05 M phosphate buffer:acetonitrile (80:20, v/v) pumped at flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. Detection is performed using 337 and 439 nm for excitation and emission wavelengths, respectively. The method is fitted for the purpose of being a competitive alternative to the currently used method in many hospitals for AMK dosage control: fluorescence polarization immunoassay (FPIA). The method exhibits linearity in the 0.17-10 µg mL(-1) concentration range with a squared correlation coefficient higher than 0.995. Trueness and intermediate precision are estimated using spiked drug free plasma samples, which fulfill current UNE-EN ISO15189:2007 accreditation schemes. Finally, for the first time, statistical comparison against the FPIA method is demonstrated using plasma samples from 31 patients under treatment with AMK.

Abstract
An ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS) method for the analysis of cefazolin and cefalothin in human plasma (total and unbound), urine and peritoneal dialysate has been developed and validated. Total plasma concentrations are measured following protein precipitation and are suitable for the concentration range of 1-500 µg/mL. Unbound concentrations are measured from ultra-filtered plasma acquired using Centrifree(®) devices and are suitable for the concentration range of 0.1-500 µg/mL for cefazolin and 1-500 µg/mL for cefalothin. The urine method is suitable for a concentration range of 0.1-20 mg/mL for cefazolin and 0.2-20 mg/mL for cefalothin. Peritoneal dialysate concentrations are measured using direct injection, and are suitable for the concentration range of 0.2-100 µg/mL for both cefazolin and cefalothin. The cefazolin and cefalothin plasma (total and unbound), urine and peritoneal dialysate results are reported for recovery, inter-assay precision and accuracy, and the lower limit of quantification, linearity, stability and matrix effects, with all results meeting acceptance criteria. The method was used successfully in a pilot pharmacokinetic study with patients with peritoneal dialysis-associated peritonitis, receiving either intraperitoneal cefazolin or cefalothin. Abstract
This work presents a rapid and sensitive high performance liquid chromatography method for the determination of amikacin in water samples with solid phase extraction and pre-column derivatization. Amikacin residue was extracted from water samples with solid phase extraction cartridge. Then the extraction solution was derivatized with 4-chloro-3,5-dinitrobenzotrifluoride in the presence of triethylamine at 70°C in 20 min. The amikacin derivative was separated on a C18 column and detected by application of UV detection at 238 nm. The limit of detection is 0.2 μg/L with a signal-to-noise ratio of 3 and linearity is established over the concentration range from 0 to 500.0 μg/L. Recoveries of the amikacin in three types of water samples are from 87.5 % to 99.6 % and RSDs are 2.1 %-4.5 %. This method can be used for the quantification of amikacin residues in water samples.

Abstract
A simple, accurate, precise spectrofluorimetric method has been proposed for the determination of three cephalosporins, namely, cefixime (cefi), cephalexine (ceph), and cefotaxime sodium (cefo) in pharmaceutical formulations. This method is based on a reaction between cephalosporins with 8-hydroxy-1,3,6-pyrenetrisulfonic acid trisodium salt (HPTS) in alkaline medium, at pH 12.0 for cefi and 13.0 for ceph and cefo to give highly fluorescent derivatives extracted with chloroform and subsequent measurements of the formed fluorescent products at 520, 500 and 510 nm after excitation at 480, 470 and 480 nm for cefi, ceph and cefo respectively. The optimum experimental conditions have been studied. Beer's law is obeyed over concentrations of 10-60 ng/mL, 5-35 ng/mL and 10-60 ng/mL for cefi, ceph and cefo, respectively. The detection limits were 4.20 ng/mL, 2.54 ng/mL and 4.09 ng/mL for cefi, ceph and cefo, respectively, with a linear regression correlation coefficient of 0.99783, 0.99705 and 0.9978 and recoveries in ranges 96.96-105.77, 96.13-102.55 and 95.45-105.39% for cefi, ceph and cefo, respectively. This method is simple and can be applied for the determination of cefi, ceph and cefo in pharmaceutical formulations in quality control laboratories.

Abstract
A novel chemiluminescence (CL) method was developed for the determination of cefazolin sodium based on the CL reaction between the [Cu(HIO6)2](5-) Cu(III) complex and luminol in alkaline solution. Results showed that CL emission of Cu(III) complex-luminol in alkaline medium was significantly different from that in acidic medium. A possible mechanism of the enhanced effect of cefazolin on CL emission of the [Cu(HIO6)2](5-)-luminol system was proposed. The effect of the reaction conditions on CL emissions was examined. Under optimized conditions, a good linear relationship was obtained between CL intensity and concentrations of cefazolin sodium in the range of 2.0 x 10(-8) to 2.0 x 10(-6) g/mL with a correlation coefficient of R(2) = 0.9978. The limit of detection was 4.58 x 10(-9) g/mL. The proposed method was applied for the determination of cefazolin sodium in real samples with recoveries of 82.0-109% with an RSD of 0.7-2.1%. The proposed method was successfully used for the determination of cefazolin sodium in injectable powder preparations and human urine with satisfactory results.

Abstract
An ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometric detection (UHPLC-MS/MS) method was established for the simultaneous determination of residues of thirty non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in swine muscle. The samples were extracted with acetonitrile and phosphoric acid. The extracts were defatted with n-hexane, and then purified by HLB solid-phase extraction cartridge. Analysis was carried out on UHPLC-ESI-MS/MS working with multiple reaction monitoring mode with polarity switching. Limits of detection were between 0.4 μg/kg and 2.0 μg/kg, and limits of quantification were between 1.0 μg/kg and 5.0 μg/kg. The recoveries of NSAIDs were between 61.7% and 125.7% at spiked levels of 1.0-500 μg/kg. The repeatability was less than 8% and the within-laboratory reproducibility was not more than 12.3%. The method was reliable, convenient and sensitive.

Abstract
A direct injection liquid chromatography procedure was developed for the simultaneous determination of four penicillin antibiotics (amoxicillin, ampicillin, cloxacillin and dicloxacillin) in pharmaceutical formulations and physiological fluids (urine) using hybrid micellar mobile phases. These antimicrobials are used to treat gastrointestinal and systemic infections. The four penicillins were analysed using a Zorbax C18 reversed-phase column and detected at 210 nm. These antibiotics were separated by an interpretive optimisation procedure based on the accurate description of the retention and shape of the chromatographic peaks. Antibiotics were eluted in less than 16 min with no interference by the urine protein band or endogenous compounds using the mobile phase 0.11 M sodium dodecyl sulphate-6% propanol-0.01 M NaH(2)PO(4) buffered at pH 3. The method was validated according to the Food and Drug Administration guideline, including analytical parameters such as linearity (R(2)>0.993), intra- and inter-day precisions (RSD, %: 0.1-4.4 and 1.2-5.9, respectively), and robustness for the four compounds. This method is sensitive enough for the routine analysis of penicillins at therapeutic urine levels, with limits of detection in the 1.5-15 ng mL(-1) range and limits of quantification of 50 ng mL(-1). Recoveries in a micellar medium and a spiked urine matrix were in the 92.4-108.2% and 96-110% ranges, respectively. Finally, the method was successfully applied to determine these antibiotics in urine samples and pharmaceutical formulations.

Abstract
A simple, precise and accurate kinetic spectrophotometric method for determination of cefoperazone sodium, cefazolin sodium and ceftriaxone sodium in bulk and in pharmaceutical formulations has been developed. The method is based upon a kinetic investigation of the reaction of the drug with oxidized quercetin reagent at room temperature for a fixed time of 30 min. The decrease in absorbance after the addition of the drug was measured at 510 nm. The absorbance concentration plot was rectilinear over the range 80-400 microg mL(-1) for all studied drugs. The concentration of the studied drugs was calculated using the corresponding calibration equation for the fixed time method. The determination of the studied drugs by initial rate, variable time and rate-constant methods was feasible with the calibration equations obtained but the fixed time method has been found to be more applicable. The analytical performance of the method, in terms of accuracy and precision, was statistically validated; the results were satisfactory. The method has been successfully applied to the determination of the studied drugs in commercial pharmaceutical formulations. Statistical comparison of the results with a well established reported method showed excellent agreement and proved that there is no significant difference in the accuracy and precision.

Abstract
A simple, reliable, and sensitive kinetic spectrophotometric method was developed for determination of eight cephalosporin antibiotics, namely, Cefotaxime sodium, Cephapirin sodium, Cephradine dihydrate, Cephalexin monohydrate, Ceftazidime pentahydrate, Cefazoline sodium, Ceftriaxone sodium, and Cefuroxime sodium. The method depends on oxidation of each of studied drugs with alkaline potassium permanganate. The reaction is followed spectrophotometrically by measuring the rate of change of absorbance at 610 nm. The initial rate and fixed time (at 3 minutes) methods are utilized for construction of calibration graphs to determine the concentration of the studied drugs. The calibration graphs are linear in the concentration ranges 5-15 mug mL(-1) and 5-25 mug mL(-1) using the initial rate and fixed time methods, respectively. The results are validated statistically and checked through recovery studies. The method has been successfully applied for the determination of the studied cephalosporins in commercial dosage forms. Statistical comparisons of the results with the reference methods show the excellent agreement and indicate no significant difference in accuracy and precision.

Abstract
A new, simple and selective differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) method for the simultaneous determination of selected drugs in model solutions and spiked human urine samples with prior extraction was developed and validated. The objects of analysis were paracetamol, furosemide, dipyrone, cefazolin and dexamethasone belonging to four different therapeutic groups (antibiotics, analgesic, demulcent and diuretic). Analytical methods for the preparation of urine samples for voltammetric analysis (liquid-liquid extraction--LLE and solid-phase extraction--SPE) were worked out and optimized. Hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE) and graphite electrode were used as working electrodes. Reference electrode was Ag|AgCl|KCl((sat.)), whereas auxiliary electrode--platinum electrode. The optimal conditions for quantitative determination were obtained in a Britton-Robinson (BR) buffer at pH 2.4. Quantification was performed by means of calibration curve and standard addition methods. The calibration curves of analysed drugs are linear within the range of concentration: 6.61-66.10, 6.05-54.42, 6.00-65.00, 4.20-33.58 and 0.51-3.06 microM for paracetamol, furosemide, dipyrone, cefazolin and dexamethasone, respectively. The levels of analysed compounds in human urine can be successfully determined using this developed method with no matrix effect.
