Abstract
In this study, S-methyl derivatives of dithiocarbamates (DTCs) were shown to significantly enhance chemiluminescence (CL) between Ce(IV) and efficient and environmentally friendly nitrogen-doped carbon dots (NCDs). Based on the elucidation of the CL mechanisms, an innovative approach involving high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with N-CDs and CL detection (HPLC-CDCL) was proposed. The developed method was successfully applied to the highly sensitive detection of three DTC fungicides (dimethyl dithiocarbamate, ethylene bisdithiocarbamate, and propylene bisdithiocarbamate) in tea. The recovery of the established method ranged 70.51-116.45%, with relative standard deviations (RSD) of <9.40%. The limit of detection (S/N = 3) was as low as 0.19 μg/L (as CS2), which is superior to the previous methods and comparable to UPLC-tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS). Moreover, the proposed approach does not require solid-phase extraction and offers excellent selectivity. This study proposes a novel method for the detection of DTCs in the food safety and environmental fields.

Abstract
Metal-containing pesticides are used in many areas for purposes such as harvest efficiency and keeping pests away from the vegetable environment. Metal-containing pesticides are in the form of dithiocarbamate complexes and are named differently according to the type of metal they contain and are used for different purposes. Since the presence of these pesticides even at residue level threatens human and environmental health, their determination at trace level is important. In this review, studies on the determination of metal-containing dithiocarbamate pesticides in different matrices are discussed. This review on the analysis of dithiocarbamate pesticides with different techniques will shed light on the studies to be carried out for the determination of these pesticides one by one in different matrices.

Abstract
To study the interesting chemical reaction phenomenon can greatly contribute to the development of an innovative analytical method. In this paper, a simple CL reaction cell was constructed to study the chemiluminescence (CL) emission from the thermal oxidation of carbon disulfide (CS2). We found that the CL detection of CS2 exhibits unique characteristics of excellent selectivity and rapid response capacity. Experimental investigations together with theoretical calculation were performed to study the mechanism behind the CL reaction. The results revealed that the main luminous intermediates generated during the thermal degradation of CS2 are SO2* and CO2*. Significantly, this CL emission phenomenon has a wide application due to many sulfur-containing compounds that can convert to CS2 under special conditions. On the basis of this scheme, a CS2-generating and detection system was developed for rapid measurement of CS2 or other compounds that can convert to CS2. The usefulness of the system was demonstrated by measuring dithiocarbamate (DTC) pesticides (selected mancozeb as a representative analyte) based on the evolution of CS2 in spiked agricultural products. Results showed that the system allows online and large volume detection of CS2 under nonequilibrium condition, which greatly reduces the analytical time. The concentrations of mancozeb in the spiked samples were well-quantified with satisfied recoveries of 76.9-97.3%. The system not only addresses the urgent need for rapid in-field screening of DTC residues in foodstuffs but also opens a new opportunity for the fast, convenient, and cost-effective detection of CS2 and some other sulfur-containing compounds in complex samples.

Abstract
A new method for the determination of the herbicide diuron, using a flow injection manifold and photoinduced chemiluminescence detection, is presented. The pesticide, in basic medium, was irradiated on-line with UV light (254 nm) for 53 s. A short discussion about the possible irradiation products is included. The chemiluminescent response of the photoproducts was induced by oxidation with potassium ferricyanide in phosphate buffer at pH 11.5. The method permitted the quantification of diuron over the 0.1-4.0 mg L(-1) range, with a detection limit (S/N = 3) of 20 µg L(-1) when the method was applied directly. However, the use of solid phase extraction (SPE) performed with C(18) cartridges allowed us to achieve a limit of detection of 0.4 µg L(-1) and a 1.5-30 µg L(-1) dynamic range. The method was successfully applied to the diuron determination in samples of water from different sources (spring, ground, mineral, irrigation, sea and tap waters) with a low consumption of reagents.

Abstract
A new chemiluminescence (CL) system based on the reaction of Ag(III) complex with luminol is, for the first time, reported in this work. Incorporated with a flow injection analyses (FIA), the new CL system has been applied for the determination of free cortisol in human sera. The system is based on the CL reaction of luminol with Ag(III) in alkaline solutions, while cortisol can dramatically enhance CL intensities. Under optimum conditions, CL intensities are proportional to concentration of cortisol in the range of 0.05-7.5 nM. The limit of detection is 2.0x10(-11) M (3sigma), with a relative standard deviation (n=11) of 1.9% for 3.5x10(-9) M cortisol. Eight human blood serum samples were all handled by solid-phase extraction (SPE) clean-up and enrichment before detection. This detection system is highly sensitive and convenient and may find wide applications. Based on the chemiluminescent spectra, a possible reaction mechanism is also suggested.
